Hi all - looks like I'm first here! I'm pregnant with #1, due 2 September. Got my BFP a couple of days ago and already it feels like a rollercoaster ride - I'm utterly thrilled, anxious about the possibility of a loss and terrified at the thought of the birth! But hey, bring it on! Smile

Pooch- so sorry to hear about your MC! Yeah I totally understand why you would be anxious! Fx we all have great pregnancies. Thanks for the tip on where's good to go for an early scan X

hellsbells is that a NHS scan or a private one? X

Aww bless skip hopefully your cat won't get to jealous once the baby is here X

MouseLove · 04/01/2017 13:41

I can't believe I'm only 4 days behind you FXSkip, seems like you got your BFP weeks before me. Although I keep having to remind myself that I got mine on CD34 because I thought it was impossible. 😳

I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible. I'm a size 16 and I really don't want to go too huge after loosing 2 st last year. I have a feeling I will be though. Nom nom nom 😂

There's been soooooo much chat about babies at work today. I'm a designer and we are re-designing some baby and pregnancy offerings for our main retail client. I've been working on them too and so it's quite hard to seem unknowledgeable. Lol

HellsBellsK · 04/01/2017 14:01

Amz26 I'm in Ireland so things are a little different I think. I am going private for maternity care. So they offer an early scan. If I was public I could be waiting up to week 15/16 for your first scan.

I think the system you have with the NHS is much better then we have over here. Thats just from what my here from my cousin who lives in London - most go public? Here we have a huge mix private, semi - private and public. I think your private care is a lot more expensive also.

FXSkip · 04/01/2017 14:03

I know mouse but then I can't believe how far some of the other grads are at the same time!!
I'm feeling sooooo chubby right now, I'm a 10-12 but it's a lot on my little skeleton 😔 and dh was spooning me last night and was like wtf is that?! It was my tummy 😫😫😫 but feels like there's nothing I can do as have been on crutches since before Christmas with a back injury so can't even exercise!!

Londonexhile · 04/01/2017 14:13

I'm in London amz, well, for work anyway, actually live in Kent & we really want to do an early scan too. Will check out the place littlepooch recommended.

I've know for 3 days now & it's so hard to keep a secret!! My very sweet colleague went out & bought me some cold & flu medicine & I've had to fib about taking as it says in big bold letters do not take when pregnant!!

Amz26 · 04/01/2017 14:46

Hellsbells oh ok yeah that makes sense! Yes most people go with the nhs that I know apart from my boss but they have a lot of money!! I think here in England it's normally 12 weeks and 20 weeks but can vary? Not 100% sure tho! My sister in law is having scans every 2 weeks as she's high risk but that's not common X

Skip hope you feel better soon as it's going to be hard once you get bigger! Wishing you a speedy recovery X

London where abouts in London do you work? Yeah I'm also going to check it out too! It's more about persuading OH we should get one X

Mouse-I'm the same I'm trying to eat healthy as I've put on a lot of weight already! I'm around a size 12 now but can't fit into my jeans already 😩😩 what a great achievement to lose that weight X

Shwighty1 · 04/01/2017 15:08

If you're struggling to do jeans up you may not know about the magic trick with a hair band!! Loop it around the button and in through the hole and back over the button. That way you can stretch your jeans a bit longer!!

I only gained about 1 & 3/4 stone in my last pregnancy so don't worry too much, fingers crossed you don't always gain loads of weight. I was pre pregnancy weight by about 4 weeks post partum. I was bf-ing which I assume helps too

OkyDoke · 04/01/2017 15:10

Have been MIA for a few days, spent most of Christmas and New Year asleep, or feeling exhausted! Seems like it is going so slowly, now 6+2. Still no date for booking in appointment but got to ring next week. So very anxious that something is wrong, but there has been no sign of anything wrong of course. This wait and see is horrible!

MouseLove · 04/01/2017 15:41

That's weird Oky, you should see your midwife on your 8th week. I just rang my Gp and made the appointment. I'm in at the end of the month. I'll be 8+4 when I have my appointment. Maybe your GP doesn't book that far in advance?

Try not to be anxious. I know easier said than done. Set yourself tasks or rewards or things to look forward to. Especially if it will help pass the time. Work is keeping me busy. But I really must stop checking here so often haha.

Kskifred · 04/01/2017 15:55

Been having pelvic pains today and just wiped after toilet and old blood when wiping like brown...shitting myself now please do t be happening again. I stupidly went and bought a little pink and little blue hat in Mothercare sale this afternoon. Argh could this be implantation although a little late?!

Amz26 · 04/01/2017 16:03

Thanks Shwighty1 I will Defo have to try that :)

I got some spotting just before AF was due but had already got my BFP so I was worried!! I then went to the doctors and he told me it's normal and could happen at anytime it's just the egg getting comfy X

Kskifred · 04/01/2017 16:06

I felt much more pregnant this time compared to chemical so was less worried, never had implantation or any bleed with DS so a new one for me. Will keep my legs crossed, and fingers! will keep you posted...praying it's just getting nice and sticky

Kskifred · 04/01/2017 16:16

Sat here bloody pant watching now

FXSkip · 04/01/2017 16:25

Kskifred I've got my fingers crossed for you love, what an awful headf*ck to have to go through. Mantra - whatever will be will be. If this is meant to be your baby, it will be. xxx

HellsBellsK · 04/01/2017 16:29

Kskilfred It's normal to get some brown blood try not to worry to much - I know harder said then done. Flowers

Londonexhile · 04/01/2017 16:57

Kskifred I've been having cramps for the past few days, and apparently all normal.

No blood here, but I think it's bright red blood that's more of a worry?

Fingers crossed.

Amz I'm in the city near Bank! Do you work in London too?

Amz26 · 04/01/2017 17:04

ks I've got my fingers crossed for you

london yeah I work in Muswell hill, do you know it? x

MouseLove · 04/01/2017 17:10

Brown is ok. If you get red then get to EPU. I'm sure if it's just a little bit of brown it's totally normal. X

flossie80 · 04/01/2017 17:21

Thinking of you kskifred. If it helps at all, I've just spoken to my midwife for booking in appointment and she said that cramping and some sharp pelvic pain is normal xx

flossie80 · 04/01/2017 17:23

To arrange booking in appointment of course.Still only 4 weeks The wait until 30th Jan is going to feel like forever.

guigirl14 · 04/01/2017 18:11

Amz26 I'm also a London girl, I've booked into the Birth Company for an early scan next week. It's in the same building on Harley St as the Fetal Medicine Centre, it just has earlier and later weekday appointments if you are trying to go before or after work (I'm going to hide being pregnant for as long as possible!). Costs £100 as it is private.

Thinking of you kskifred. I was told at my recent MC that it's the bright red blood that's not good news. Hopefully you're ok?

Amz26 · 04/01/2017 18:32

guigirl14 - oh really where abouts do you live? That sounds excited, how many weeks are you? Im Defo going to be onto my OH about the early scan, £100 isn't to bad at all X

littlepooch · 04/01/2017 18:48

I'm a London girl too! Seems like there are a few of us!
Try not to worry kski as others have said a bit of brown is normal. I know it's easier said than done.

My boobs, particularly my nipples are so flipping sore! They've been like this since this morning. I had to take my bra off and even my pj top is rubbing and ouchy!

guigirl14 · 04/01/2017 18:53

Amz26 I live in Bounds Green near Alexandra Palace, am I right looking back down the thread that's near you? We are living off tomato soup to afford the scan - worst month to have needed it in as my husband's shift work always goes non existent in Jan!! Oh well; it's worth it not to feel anxious about what is going on I think.

What hospitals are any London based peeps considering? I've self referred to UCH and they have been super quick on setting up appointments. I wish my booking appointment was sooner than the 23rd - my HcG at 5+2 was only 1711 and I feel like that's low given the range it can be in, not that I'm an expert or anything.

londonfeather · 04/01/2017 19:03

Another Londoner here living in Putney. I self referred to Chelsea & Westminster this morning. Thankfully I'm feeling much better after the throwing up earlier this week - think it must have been a bug but have pretty much continuous period pains at the moment - not fun!
I keep swinging between crazy excited and absolute panic. I'm guessing its the hormones!
