Hey Lupins - sorry you are feeling a bit shite

Work is a bit mental for me at the moment and I'm trying to ration my time on Mumsnet as it was getting a bit out of control and things weren't getting done.

Have a good day all

Pebblemum · 23/02/2007 11:32

Morning ladies and blossoming bumps

Back on the subject of A&E our one has a special childs room so we dont have to mix with the riff raff but it still seems to take ages (even though there are always two doctors and three nurses in there. Hope everything went alright with your DD Sky and they finally sorted everything out for you

Well i had a lovely lie in today, dh had to get up at 7am to help a friend so once he had left ds2 woke up but was still tired so i convinced him he wanted a cuddle in my bed and we both fell asleep until 10am, ds1 got himself up and was watching High School Musical in the front room, it was heaven. The only thing that let it down was when the bloody doorbell went. Why is it no one ever calls round unless im having a lazy day and im still in my pj's with hair mirroring Worsel Gummage.

I deserved the lie in though, all yesterday i had a really bad backache and my sciatica was playing up. My neighbour came round for a coffee in the evening and ds1 had to let her in, i was stuck on the floor. Id made the mistake of laying down to play with ds2 on his Bubble computer and had siezed up. If it wasnt so painful it would be funny

LL I like the jogger. My friend is looking for one like that so will have to send her the link, not a bad price either

LupinsBigLump · 23/02/2007 11:56

Pebble its always the way isnt it no one would call if you look immaculate and your house in order, hope your head and back is better today - i think i must look like worzel gummage today

Cinnamon hope you catch up on you work,

Have decided theres no way i can get dd to preschool so she is quite happily playing in her room, still in pj's, 2nd painkiller took edge of for a little while now it hurts again and I dont really want to have to keep taking them

Pebblemum · 23/02/2007 12:41

Lupins my ds2 is still in his pj's too, hes got a cold and is snuggled up on the sofa watching scooby doo while i do a bit of housework and scan the pc. He can get dressed in a bit though in case anyone else pops round!

Sorry to hear you are still in pain. My back is still aching, right where my bra strap does up but ive got a white top on so darent take it off. Its more of a burning sensation than a pain but its driving me mad now. Luckily the sciatica doesnt seem as bad today but im not planning on getting down on the floor to check in case i get stuck again DS1 is round his friends (still half term here) and ds2 wouldnt be able to help so i would be stuck there, great excuse for not doing housework though lol

Im trying to decide if i want to drag ds2 out for some fresh air or to have a nice peaceful day indoors. Part of me thinks it would be fun to dress up in old clothes and wellies and take ds2 for a nice muddy walk in the woods but then the sensible mum in me says it may not be a good idea. The baby is pressing on my bladder and i keep needing a wee so unless i really want to have to squat in the woods maybe we should stay closer to home lol

SKYTVADDICT · 23/02/2007 13:10

Lupns - sorry to hear you are in pain.

Pebblemum - me and DDs were in PJs at noon on Wednesday when a friend, her 6 year old daughter, her 22 year old daughter and her two los (one being 6 weeks and needing a feed) just popped round to see if we were in! They said we neednt get dressed on their account but needless to say we did. The house was a tip too as we had been away a couple of days.

A&E last night was ok as we were expected but 4 xrays later and she hasn't done anything serious thank god. She wasn't amused though as I think she was expecting at least a sling but all they said was she has to move it to keep it from freezing and have nurofen and calpol.

Slept on sofa last night as DP now has the virus/cold that we all have (or should I say his of course is MAN FLU!!) and neither of us was sleeping well so I got up and went downstairs. Couldn't put up with his snoring any longer. DDs at their dads this weekend so have two spare beds. Think I may go to bed in one of them to start with then I won't have to move in the night LOL.

Pebblemum · 23/02/2007 14:03

I still havent decided if i want to drag my lazy bum out for a walk but the sky has gone a bit grey now so maybe the decision will be made for me. Dont fancy getting stranded in the woods if it rains.

I have just had one of those charity bags through the door asking for unwanted clothes shoes etc so I think i may spend the weekend having a good clearout (well thats my intention anyway lol) DH is working all weekend and i expect ds1 will be round his friends so I will only have ds2 to contend with. I expect he will try to help if you can call putting all the clothes on in one go or mixing the things up helping. Normally we end up finding old toys/books that have been put away because he no longer played with them and then just as they are about to be thrown away they become his new favourite toy in the whole wide world

I was supposed to be going out tomorrow night either to a wedding reception or for a meal with dh we havent made our mind up yet but my mum has just phoned to say that they may not be able to babysit Dad has got an infection of some sort, his head is pounding he is either red hot or freezing and so he is now laying on the bed trying to rest dosed up with antibiotics. Hes had this before, the first time the dr said his thyroid had packed up and so would be on medication for the rest of his life then when it came back they upped the dose and now they are saying its an infection (dont think they really know what it is)

What is it with the males in our families? Almost everyone of us on here has had problems with dh's FIL, dads etc. Do you think they are all out to cause us as much worry while we are pregnant that they can

Frenchsmallfry · 23/02/2007 14:10

SKY, glad the news on dd was good.

OP posts:
Frenchsmallfry · 23/02/2007 15:51

Isn't it always the way pebble, I tried to get ds to sort out a small box of toys that he didn't want anymore to go to our dr's surgery. There is nothing there and we sometimes spend ages in the waiting room, they end up pulling all the mags of the table or trying to move the charis around
There was not one toys out of 5million that he could donate, even the baby toys suddenly became popular again. Reminds me actually I must do it without him knowing at some point.

cinnamontam · 23/02/2007 16:04

Sky - so glad your DD is ok. I had a laugh thinking of her miffed face when she didn't even get a sling. It's like whacking your shin hard and having no blood to show for all the pain. Very disappointing

sheepgomeep · 23/02/2007 16:19

does anyone remember me I'm sheepgomeep from way back.I think i was posting up till about 13 13 weeks pg then I dissapeared! I haven't been able to get online due to broadband problems so this is the first time in months ivw been able to pop on and say hello.

I hope you are all doing ok and I can't believe i've only got 11 weeks left!!!

SKYTVADDICT · 23/02/2007 16:26

Hi again sheepgomeep and welcome back - just posted on your other thread, you beat me to it.

cinnamontam · 23/02/2007 16:38

Hey - I got onto Mumsnet after you left I think so I guess this is hello from me

11 weeks to go - exciting

Frenchsmallfry · 23/02/2007 16:51

Welcome back sheepgomeep.

Pebblemum · 23/02/2007 17:05

Welcome back sheep!! Hearing us all saying how long we have left really puts it into perspective doesnt it. When i read 11wks i got all excited, it seems so close now (even if i am 1.5wks behind you.

Ive been looking at the reborn dolls on Ebay, they are so lifelike even down to the mottled skin a newborn has. The decent ones are very expensive but they seem worth every penny. Ive seen a cheaper version today (a neighbour brought one round to show me) and you could see straight away it was a doll, it looked plastic and shiny but the ones on ebay look so realistic. Wonder if dh wants to buy me one

Frenchsmallfry · 23/02/2007 17:53

I'm really worried about lg&t, Not in a stalking way but she hasn't been around for ages I know she was in Plymoth but the kids would be back at school by now? I've sent 2 texts and heard nothing and I noticed on the multiples thread today that lulumama is concerned too as she has e-mailed and had no reply.

lg&t, if you are lurking, I'm sending virtual thoughts and hugs to you and really hope you are OK? xxx

Hi girls

I've booked the 3d scan for Wednesday. Hopefully I'll get a pleasant scan experience for once.

I wish you lot would all stop talking about weight! Its depressing me, I can barely look at myself! Although I think I am finally coming into my own 'maternity style' thank god, rather than big jumpers and stretchy pants all the time.

We've been looking at nurseries today, seen three of them so far. Seems to be that there are two types of nursery, 'nice' ones and 'structured' ones, and I still don't know what I want. Went to one today which is set in the grounds of a farm which was lovely, but to be honest, the lady showing me around wasn't as thorough as I have seen with others. We've got an open day at a Montessori nursery in March which we are on the waiting list for, so hopefully I'll get a different experience there too. Its so hard going in and seeing all the under 2s, it totally freaks me out.

I hope it'll all be ok, and I hope that you are all feeling well and not too gassy this week.

xx

LupinsBigLump · 23/02/2007 19:22

Sky glad your dd is ok

Sheep, joined soon after you so hello

Pebbel I find thise dolls a bit spooky - they are excellant in the lifelikeness - but bit creepy, anyway you will have a real life baby soon

PinkJ good luck with the scan and the nursery hunting - I am going to have to work with this baby, I was lucky enough to find enough cash work with dd - but have given most of it up since being pg, so will have to get a proper job, I know a lovely childminder, dd went to her for a bit and hopefully lo will be able to go a couple of days a week

Am feeling slightly more comfortable, managed a bit of dinner, lo has either changed position or grown as the kicks have been a lot higher today - ohhh no they are heading for my ribs

LupinsBigLump · 23/02/2007 20:49

See what happens when I am ill and only have me and my laptop for amusement - I have bought a jane powertrack yipeeeee, never thought i would be able to afford one and someone had one on for sale board for £100, very very pleased - am in process of getting it to be delivered to friends house - cant really have it turning up here dp would go mental lol - anyway that sort of solves problem of what to buy when micralite is redundant

scootermum · 23/02/2007 21:10

Hi all,
Nothing to report today really.DD and I had a lovely day off today-bit of lunch with some friends and a rainy walk.Very tired today though-think its all in my head on Fridays though as I know I dont have to be at work so I dont psych myself up as much...

Was going to do some of my homework tonight but watching Americas Next Top Model instead..Honestly ive no resolve at all!DH are copying one of the tasks on it for a laugh. We are trying to catwalk with a bowl of fruit balanced on our heads.I dont think either of us are still in the running to be Americas next top model, put it that way!

Im a little worried about largegandt as well..and TYG...Hope they are both ok...

DH has promised to take me shopping for new maternity trousers tomorrow as Ive only one pair that fit.I wnder if I can stretch him to a nice top as well..We are off into London town tomorrow night for my RL best friends birthday at some bar in soho.I havent been out in so long, as everytime I try it seems something goes wrong with me, or dd or dh..fingers crossed as quite excited!

Night all, off to bed now with a bowl of fruit on head obviously..top models dont get time off y'know!

LupinsBigLump · 23/02/2007 21:36

hmmm hope the missing chattys are ok - no chance of me being a top model wayyyy to short lol, I like rainy walks scoot, always nice when you get home, dry off with a nice warm drink

Pebblemum · 24/02/2007 01:27

MOrning all lol (not that any sane pregnant women are awake at this time)

LG&T's children dont go back to school until Monday so hopefully she is just spending a bit longer in Plymouth.

Ds1 decided to inform both myself and a neighbour how babies are made tonight. It was hilarious, he did it in steps but i was a bit shocked at how much he knows:

Step 1: man and lady go to bed
Step 2: Lady gets on top of the man with no clothes on
Step 3: she moves up and down
step 4: she is pregnant

Then he went into detail about how a man has sperm and a lady has eggs and when they meet a baby is made

Well at least he doesnt need the old birds and bees chat when hes older but im sure i was more naive at 9 than he seems to be. Guess its proof my little boy is growing up

Anyway i suppose i should go to bed. Im only still up because dh decided to have a bath when he got in at 12.45am and hes been up since 7am so thought i had better stay awake in case he fell asleep in there. Good job i did because i can hear him snoring already lol

Hope everyone else is having a good nights sleep!!

aprilmeadow · 24/02/2007 08:09

Happy Saturday everyone.

All i can say is thank god its the weekend! I have had such a busy week hence the lack of posts from me. I have worked a 5 day week this week (normally only do tues-fri) plus have worked late for 2 nights at home from 8-11.30pm checking data for an ungrateful back stabbing client of mine. Both my bosses naffed off to France on a photo shoot that actually only required one of them to go. So that left me to run the office and organise the next photo shoot and about a thousand other things that had one of them stayed would have lowered my stress levels dramatically. Have had to bring some more work home as i didnt get the chance to complete it yesterday. I think i mentioned that work were going to paint a mural in the nursery for a project we are doing for an Artists Materials company... well we painted the nusery weeks ago in preparation and have been waiting for it to happen, well with the deadline getting ever closer we have to have it doen this weekend. Now this sounds great, but we now have to paint one of the walls a pale pink TODAY which means that we have to clear the room of all the clutter and then tomorrow a my friend is coming round to actually do the mural. But even this isnt straight forward, we have to take pictures for each step showing how it was created and then what the final room looks like with all the furniture in place. My downstairs loo is full of studio lights, cameras, a projector, laptop and god knows what else. At least i guess it will be all done and one less thing to think/worry about, i just wish that it wasnt all happening so fast.

Sorry for ranting at you all - seems very small compared to some of the worries, illnesses and hospital trips you are all having at the mo.

On a brighter note, bubs is moving all over the place and doesnt seem to have many 'down/sleep' times. Yesterday i seemed to have a knee, foot, elbow sticking out for most of the day. I dont remember J being this active.

Lupins will email you once i get home on Monday to arrange time and place.

Hope you are all well slept and ache free this morning.

aprilmeadow · 24/02/2007 08:14

at you son pebble, i dont think i could have kept a straight face! It is quite scary what children know these days. I am sure i didnt know about that til was at secondary school ...

LupinsBigLump · 24/02/2007 08:59

Lol at your son pebble - what a bright spark, I am quite sure I wasnt aware of those facts at that age, do they get taught in school now???

AM try and get a relaxing weekend - even if you cant get in your downstairs loo, looki forward to putting a face to a name, my lo is fidgety alot as well - am sure it is going to be a wakeful baby

Slept pretty good, tummy is still sore but not massivly painful, have a good day all

Frenchsmallfry · 24/02/2007 10:00

Pebble, children just grow up so fast now a days, it is a bit scary. I'm sure I didn't know that much at 9. ds(4) knows about the sperm and the egg, and he knows daddy has the sperm and mummy has the egg and daddy gives the sperm to mummy but he doesn't know how, pleased about that though, I think 4 maybe a little young to know anymore. He is sooooo inquisitive and always asking really meaningful, questions. I think he is going to be a philosophist (sp?) Thanks for letting me know about half term in your area, I thought it was the second week lg&t was away. Hopefully she'll be back after the weekend then.

AM, hope your weekend goes well, I'd love to see some pics on completion Sounds so pretty.

Lupins, don't believe that an active baby in utro means non sleeper. DD was an absolute nightmare, she would move sooooo much she had me in tears in the last few weeks. She is hectic, now and doesn't stop figetting but she is an amazing sleeper and would sleep all day if I let her. She slept right through from 11 weeks and apart from the times she is unwell she sleeps 7pm - 8-9am every night. Maybe being very active wears them out so much they sleep well?
This one for us is not as active as dd was so I'm a little on edge. It moves alot throughout 24hrs, don't get me wrong but it has very long restful periods and then about 5-10minutes of activity and then it sleeps for hours again.

Have a really lovely weekend all...........

SOH, TYG, hope you are OK?
