Ive become quite an A&E regular this past year and have to say its a miracle if we get out of there before the 2.5 hour mark. When we thought ds1 may have broken his arm in January there was only one other child in the waiting room (who was being seen to already) and it still took us about 3.5hrs before we got to go home, I know he had to have x-rays etc but it seemed as though everyone was just moping about taking their time. Maybe its just me im not very patient when it comes to things like that

Its not just A&E though, when ds1 had hhis last fit we were sat in the emergency dr's waiting room for ages. There was a poor pregnant lady there who was obviously in a lot ofpain, she was puffing and panting, having trouble walking but couldnt sit down for long, and I honestly thought she was in labour, she must have been at least 8months pregnant. Other people were seen to and yet she was left waiting. I was disgusted, I know there were others waiting but none seemed as bad as this poor woman and the fact she was pregnant made me feel that she should have either been seen to quicker or sent straight to hospital. In the end she went into the dr just before us and i didnt see her leave so hope everything was ok.

This person was an obstetric physio and asked you to lie on your front SOH? Did they have a bench with a big hole in it for your bump?
Hope that bending helped. I had sciatica quite badly lst time but have hardly had it at all this time around. I think it might be becuase I have been being much more careful about posture - never sit with my legs crossed, sit on my ball whenever possible. I think you are lucky to actually get treated though, the antenatal physio service here will see you immediately but don't have the resources to actually treat anyone.

Do hope your FIL is well enough to come out of hospital soon SOH and that your dad's condition improves LWatkins.

Hope your Dad gets better LWatkins. I still think of my Mum and Dad as almost immortal and it's horrible when things happen to them. Sending lots of healthy vibes his way...

Best wishes to lwatkins dad and SOH FIL.

Just an update. Just had a phone call from hospital a&e. They have been reviewing Freya's xray from last night and want us to take her back tonight as they may have missed a small fracture and want to re xray her! My mum not very tactfully asked them if we would have to wait 3 hours again and the nice Dr said no just to ask for her at reception. Hopefully leaving work soon to get there early.

I was last at A&E about 8 years ago when DS broke his leg. He was only 2 years old at the time. We arrived at the hospital at around lunchtime on a Sunday. DS was crying a lot, as you would expect. However, the waiting room was crammed full of Saturday night hangover victims who'd obviously acquired some booze related injuries the night before. So, there was not one free chair to be had at all and I had to stand there holding DS as gently as I could while he cried with the pain of his broken thigh bone. Not one person offered us a seat - not even the people who were just accompanying the hangover victims and not actually waiting to be seen themselves. It still makes me cross when I think about it. One good thing did happen, though - when one of the doctors on duty saw me standing there holding DS, he came out and said to everyone in the waiting room "So not one of you offered this lady and her child a seat? Well in that case, I'll see her straight away" and then took us off to a cubicle.

Anyway. How's everyone feeling today? I'm pretty sure that bobba has had a massive growth spurt recently - mu bump really ached for a couple of days and now I look absolutely massive. I caught sight of myself in the hallway mirror last night and even I had a shock! I must take a bump picture soon and add it to my profile so that you can all feel better about your nice, neat and trim bumps!!!

Good luck then SKY-Hope she is ok..
And also to lwatkins-it will be good to see him then if you are worried.Lots of hugs to you.Parcel went in post today at 3 so should be there when you get back from home..Have a lovely time..
And hugs to you and dh SOH as well...

When we took dd to A and e when she was having a fit it was outrageous!I sent dh in first to tell them we were coming, because the child wasnt realy breathing very well, and was shaking and boiling hot, whilst I got dd out of the car. When I got there the receptionist was fiddling with her computer which 'wasnt working' and wouldnt just take our details and let us through to be seen... She asked us to sit down and wait.By which time dd was going blue so I yelled at her, which isnt like me at all and she let us in to triage.Anyway all seen by nures etc fine, fine and DD stopped fitting but still not looking good.We then waited 4 hours to be seen by the Dr.Because the dappy nurse FORGOT we were there!!(bear in mind we got there at midnight.By 4 am I was not in good humour)

I have every sympathy with the staff at A and E but really...It was a Sunday night and not busy at all and I had a sick baby.I was livid...

Still at work trying to do RMA work but stuck doing 'real' work instead.Have been stuck in front of PC for hours and feel quite sick.Still, weekend for me as soon as I leave cest soir..

I might try Guiness FSF as my iron levels still not great..Forgot about Guiness being iron-y...And also would murder any sort of proper drink right now..

Hope you feel better now Befnal-nothing worse the a bit of V and D when preggers...Enjoy your pancakes...

Evening all,
I've been so busy at work today that i've only just had time to have a quick read.

I was going to tell you all about my dream last night. They say you have exotic dreams when PG and I was (AM) still waiting for one to appear. So last night David Beckham suddenly appeared (without his shirt on) in my dream. It was like I was half awake because I remember thinking, Oh here is my exotic dream... It was a very hot day and he asked me to rub suntan lotion on his back. But when he turned around it was all spotty and greasy. I was so dissappointed that I woke up thinking, it this as good as it gets?

But after reading all your A&E horror stories I now feel guilty about feeling sorry for myself

£169 lillaura, blimey??? Geeee prices are high in the UK? I'm sorry to say but I am now even more pleased with my bargain purchase of a £51 tandem, I don't have any winnie the pooh's on ours though. Same colours and style though.

SOH and Lwatkins sending good wishes to your poorly ones.

I thought they did have a children first policys through most hospitals in the UK? Here it is a seriousness policy, the more sick or injured you are the quicker you are seen.

Have collected our new car!!! yeye. It was a nightmare though, the dosey woman in the dealers messed up the card transaction at first and credited 8500euros to my card. (very nice) she noticed though as we were just given the keys, I hahdn't. Had to go back in and it took her a further hour to sort it out, couldn't work out how to do it, didn't have the right numbers, she tried putting a double transaction through but funnily enough it refused 17000euros. Eventualy she cancelled the credit transaction and then tried to put through the right amount of which they wanted Authorisation, she didn't have the phone number for that either, I was getting hot and bothered, baby was beating me and ds was very fed up. Got there in the end thankfully.

Good evening,
Also went to bed early just in case we had another pants nights sleep with J. Feel loads better mainly down to the fact that we all woke at 6.50am - which can actually been counted as a lie in.

LL - thats a very cute buggy.

Lupins - only just hit 10st. I have put on 1st and am now 10st 6lbs. You must be a really skinny minnie pre preg!

BB - sorry to hear that you have been poorly. Pancakes can be eaten at any time we had them for breakfast this morning.

LW - sorry to hear that you dad is not so well. Maybe he just needs a big hug from you

FSF - hows the car?

Had a busy but good day today! The girl i really liked who came for interview for my position accepted the job today. She starts on the 19th of March, so that means that i get a 4week hand over with her. [sigh of relief] And even better the salary we offered was only 700 pounds more than i was on full time - the whole salary thing had been a real issue for me as i couldnt understand why they would be prepared to pay someone new more than they were prepared to pay me when i have been doing the job for 7yrs!

30wks today tiredness is starting to set in along with the frequent trips to the loo - been fine until last week.

Evening all beautiful ladies and even more gorgeous bumps!

Just ordered chinese and I must say it was scrumptous! Have half left so will be heating that up later My sides are killing me today, I feel like i'm being pulled though a stretching machine - it hurts! Guessing I'm expanding even more, really starting to feel the weight of the baby now though, and it's getting heavy. I'm only 5'2 and naturally petite and tiny sized, this extra weight is really starting to get too much for me, and still have 13 weeks left. That's a whole lot of oowwwwwww!

Thank you for kind words about me ol' dad! Bless him, think he just needs some lovin' and cuddles from his middle angel (that would be me!)

Am far too tired am going for a lie down, all that arm movement required to spoon chinese into my mouth has really taken it out of me. Will catch up with all you lovely's later x

Sorry, lillaura, yes the first one that comes up is a winnie the pooh tandem, I'll have another look, still think it's an expensive tandem, mines not heavy a all, infact it's lighter than my mamas and papas from ds, and smaller when folded, but I won't use it that often, only if out on my own so I'm not too worried.
