blueskyrain I swapped to mat jeans last week despite not having a proper bump - mainly because bloating by the end of the day made my normal jeans v uncomfortable. I do have to keep hitching them up a bit but they are so much more comfy.

haveacupoftea · 23/11/2016 18:35

I literally have to eat every 2 hours or i'm ravenous with hunger. So my diet has been supergrain porridge, cup a soup with a muffin, flapjack, lidl red berry scone, muller corner - all at 2 hour intervals lol - just waiting for chicken dinner to cook now. Roast chicken breast, mash, carrots, peas, yorkshire puddings and gravy YUM. Will be starving again by 8.30 though!

Thank you all so much for your support. We have been scanned and we are fine. Three days behind what we thought but heart beating nicely. Been told to 'take it easy' which is impossible with a toddler. But over the weekend I had been under a lot of stress and had also been moving furniture when I was cleaning so I probably just did too much. Whether it's related or not, it's definitely made me more aware of not overdoing it.

MumofthreeandBean · 23/11/2016 18:40

So pleased wellie thanks for updating and rest!!! X

themoonandsixpence · 23/11/2016 18:40

Thanks mrspage for mentioning the Manchester event, I'm planning on staying at my mums so will more than likely do Excel and the Manchester one might be too close in date. From what I hear the Baby Show's are really good. I'm going to start making my shopping list soon so I know if the deals are really worth it.

Thanks to all those that mentioned Daisy Foundation I had no idea there was an alternative to NCT, will have a look into this

themoonandsixpence · 23/11/2016 18:48

You know what I am struggling to find people giving NCT classes a glowing review it all seems to be the same from online and what friends say, that it's poor for information but good to connect with others.

MoonlightMojitos · 23/11/2016 19:18

I looked at nct but the only one by me for my dates is two full Saturdays 10-5 which is just too much! Otherwise I would have done it if evening classes. The only other one for dates, which is evenings, is nearly 10 miles away and I'd be going to meet people so don't think that's close enough to stay in touch unfortunately.

Work and all family now told! Becoming a bit more real though I still feel strange telling people.

I can't wait for maternity clothes but holding out at the moment, hoping to get stuff in the sales in January!

13+ today

HighHopes16 · 23/11/2016 19:25

Hi all, can I join please?
I've been lurking since I got my bfp but was reluctant to join as my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage.
I'm now 9 weeks and saw a strong heartbeat at my reassurance scan yesterday so I feel a bit more confident about this pregnancy now.

Woohhoo highhopes Welcome and congrats!

Monkeyandthebear · 23/11/2016 20:15

Welcome along Highhopes. We are due date buddies, midwife puts me due 28/06 too. Still to have a scan so might change.

Welly really glad to hear you are ok. Take it as easy as you can, no more moving furniture!

Still managing to hide it from my parents who are staying with us just now. Going to wait until the in laws are here on Friday too. Will need to stop myself spilling the beans the moment the in laws walk through the door though. Feel like a coiled spring!

MundayCakes85 · 23/11/2016 20:50

Hello new people! Come and join in.
Just catching up- glad to hear you're ok Welly
Love seeing all the baby photos!!
Nervous but excited about our scan tomorrow, keep thinking that I've made the whole thing up in my head Blush

KittyVonCatsington · 24/11/2016 03:03

Good luck Munday!! Will be thinking of you!!

Tulip2013 · 24/11/2016 03:44

Can't sleep at all. Mega tired but weird dreams and needing to wee in middle of night means I can't always do it! Excited by all the scan pics. I have mine on 5th. Defo feel pregnant now and want to tell people but only told my mum, sis, MIL and boss so far. Though MIL has told her work, friends and step kids. Grrrrrrrr!

For first time mums I loved NCT first time and still see my NCT group. Don't think I will do it again

Loving the 3am toilet trip and insomnia!

I've got my scan late this morning and am just starting to get a little nervous. Not terribly anxious, just a little bit of adrenaline. The excitement will kick in afterwards.

I'm glad all is well Wellie. Congratulations on your scan!

Cupoftea that list of food has made me really want a cup of soup (haven't had any in years) and some roast chicken and mash. Together. Now. Shame we have neither in the house. It may be a bit early days for me to start justifiably raiding the kitchen in the wee hours!

LorrieJ · 24/11/2016 05:02

I cracked. Two slices of pizza and a glass of milk later, I really hope I can get back to sleep now!

NappingRabbit · 24/11/2016 07:28

Good luck Munday and Lorrie for scans today. Hope the pizza did the trick!

I did NCT with DS and loved it. We have a group Christmas meal booked in for a few weeks time. We met up at least once a week during the early stages of mat leave and once every couple of weeks since people started returning to work. Of my group of 8 I've made two good friends. I won't do it again this time as I think it's more a first-timer thing, but I'd recommend it if like us you don't know any other parents in the area. It's just nice having people in the same boat to see regularly and go to groups with. I think instead, I'm going to try and go to lots of meet ups and groups to make new friends this time.

Masweetpea1 · 24/11/2016 07:40

Great news wellie.

I did nct last time and it was brilliant. I have a great group of friends and one really good friend from it.

Welcome high hopes, i think we were on the same thread back in June? I had a mc at 8 weeks last time Sad. Fingers crossed for this time for us both! Smile

Good luck lorrie and munday and anyone else having scans today!

Glad to hear everything is good wellie

I had my scan appointment through yesterday, which was very quick! It's next Wednesday and I also got my appointment through for my detailed scan at the same time.

If my dates are to go by the scan next Wednesday might be ever so slightly too soon....it has to be done after 11+2 and I'll only be 11+1 going by my adjusted lmp. I'm gonna go anyway though as I don't know exactly which date I ovulated so the scan could be bang on time, plus I just want to make sure everything is looking fine! If it was too early to do the nuchal screen do you think they'd make me go back?

DizzyNorthernBird · 24/11/2016 08:05

Oh mum congrats on the twins! I loved your scan pic, I've not seen one with twins before! I showed DP and he said 'we need to see one looking like that!' He keeps saying he wants twins (our friends have twin girls and they're adorable) but I keep telling him it's not happening!

MumofthreeandBean · 24/11/2016 08:06

Welcome highhopes

I think the twins need has sunk in - bedroom moves have started in our house in preperation!
My sister is so excited and telling everyone she sees!!
My friend has promised to raid her loft for all baby related items for me. It's scary to think I will have 2 babies by summer!!!!

I'm off to the Drs this morning as this cough won't shift and I've had it near on 3 weeks now, it's getting me down.

haveacupoftea · 24/11/2016 08:13

Haha Lorrie I havent reached the stage of raiding the cupboards in the night but i'm sure it won't be long!

Good luck with the scan today and good luck to every else who has a scan today too!

Are there classes run by the NHS because I can't afford NCT ones?

My hunger is making me ravenous too. Eating fruit pastilles at 3.30 in the morning isn't fun. I'd rather be asleep!!

Last night I had a spurt of energy so I washed up and cleaned the top of the oven! It was nearly 10pm! Usually I'm in bed by then. Feeling it this morning though... Zzzz

Sixisthemagicnumber · 24/11/2016 08:40

Yes, mommy most NHS areas run antenatal classes. Most people think the NHS classes are more infotmative but the nct classes are more for forming friendship groups.

mum how are you resolving the bedroom situation? I'm fishing for ideas because we will have to have a bedroom move around too.

Mimi333 · 24/11/2016 08:41

mommy there should be classes offered by your midwife when it comes to it. We did 3 x 2 hour evening sessions which I found useful. It helped that there was only 1 other couple with us so we had the chance to ask lots of questions.

Although I didn't do NCT, my HV did force me to go to a free "baby & you" class at the local children's centre when my LO was 12 weeks old & im still in touch with everyone from there. So there will still be a chance after your baby comes
