Lolly cake don't quote me on this but I've had a UTI and they test it via a dipstick

themoonandsixpence · 22/11/2016 22:36

Mrspage if I could afford it I too would go for as many private scans as possible. It's such a relief to see bean but alas I have to stick to the NHS schedule

MumofthreeandBean · 23/11/2016 03:08

I have been awake since 1.30!! Why??!! I just can't sleep!

I would love a private scan, multiples cost more though so I will have to wait until January. Twins do get more scans throughout though for every 4 weeks after 20week mark so I will have plenty of opportunity to see them before they are born.

Mommytobe2017 · 23/11/2016 07:14

Oooo more twins!! Congrats Grin

Counting down the days to Monday and my scan...

I swear a bump is getting more and more obvious now!
Can't wait to get it out in the open finally, next week. I've been questioned about why I can't do things at work... arghhh it's so hard to keep it in!

So jealous of those who can tell people after 12w scans! Need to keep secret until we move house. Which looked likely to be mid/late Jan but now may possibly be before Christmas, I hope so. Very hard to hide and so much more noticeable I have a bump having lost so much weight last year!

I really wish I could afford private scans, but with christmas and a broken ABS pump on my car (£600+ to fix!!) I just can't justify it Sad
We will ahve to stick to the NHS schedule, 20 sleeps!

I've been very moody at work this morning and the boys reckon I have PMT, so they're clearly not guessing yet!! Which is good as I want to keep it under wraps until after Christmas, other than to my immediate boss (so I don't need to take holiday for the scan!)

It seems like I've been pregnant forever already, but only known less than 5 weeks as so much further to go yet!

Mooseville · 23/11/2016 11:31

First day in Maternity jeans... OMG! They're soooooo comfy! Although all my weight is carried around my tummy already and I look 9 months pregnant already in them!!!

Difficultyear2015 · 23/11/2016 11:31

Are people taking a day off for the scan or just popping out of work for the day?

Difficultyear2015 · 23/11/2016 11:32

I caved into maternity jeans last week - best decision ever! So comfy

Monkeyandthebear · 23/11/2016 11:51

I tried on Maternity jeans when we were in London. Thought the options might be better there. Tried a pair of h and m ones but the button was so low it felt like it was in my crotch. Top shop seemed better so think I might order a pair online for when the time comes. I normally wear a uniform at work so I will need to get enough clothes to actually wear my own full time now.

After complaining of the lack of symptoms I had to make a mad dash to the toilet there as I thought I was going to throw up. Luckily I didn't but feel a bit better that symptoms are back.

I am going to take a full day off for the scan. Got a leiu day to use the week my scan is due so going to take that.

Mooseville · 23/11/2016 12:39

I took a full day as we bet out for lunch to celebrate, and I thought if it had been bad news I wouldn't have gone back in anyway?

I got these jeans from Mothercare and they seem ok? If you join my mothercare you get a 20% off voucher?

Purplefairy21 · 23/11/2016 13:24

Internet stopped working last night. One very wriggly baby :) measuring bang on for dates so far. Trying to work out if it's a good thing or not that the sonographer remembers me from almost 4 years ago GrinHmm

My scan's on a day I don't work so easy for me, DH is taking the afternoon off to come with. Last time I think I took the afternoon off too. If it was a morning appointment I'd prob take the full day as leave.

Hurry up Monday.

themoonandsixpence · 23/11/2016 14:07

Difficultyyear I had both my 6 & 12 week scan at 9am which means that there's very few appointment before mine that could potentially run over. My cousin has had afternoon appointments which have run over so you need to factor in the time of your appointment. Plus would this be something that either you or partner would want to make a milestone off and like to have the day off so you can really enjoy it. I work from home some days (so didn't have to rush to the office) and I can't take annual leave until next year due to certain projects but I would have done if I could.

Also my bean looks like such an alien in their scan you all seem to have babies with full faces

themoonandsixpence · 23/11/2016 14:12

Moose and Difficultyyear where did you guys get your maternity jeans from?

Also has anyone joined NCT?

I should add that I went to the Baby & Toddler show at the excel on Sunday it was quite small so you got to spend a lot of time to chat with the reps, although stock was limited and although they had good deals on it was way to early to commit with plastic. They have the baby show in March which I'll go to. But the thing is I live in West Yorkshire and wondered if anyone was aware of any shows up north.

Wow two long posts one after the other

MumofthreeandBean · 23/11/2016 14:40

purple lovely scan xx

moon I got my maternity jeans from next, slim leg ones, my daughters choice, she said I really would look massive if I had baggy jeans too 😂

Told some of my clients today, they were so pleased for me but sad that I would need to be replaced as I can't see me going back with twins!!! Not for quite a while anyway - that's one problem with being self employed 😕

LollyCake · 23/11/2016 15:17

I've got topshop maternity leigh jeans simply because they had petite length. They fit well and look nice although they fall down constantly. I can't wait until I've got enough of a bump for the over bump ones. They tend to stay up better I think.

I'm not going to do NCT (and didn't get a chance last time) but I'm looking at doing a course with the Daisy Foundation. It sounds perfect for me as it has a mixture of yoga, breathing exercises and hypnobirthing. Otherwise, I'd just do a hypnobirthing course.

mrspage1985 · 23/11/2016 15:57

Moon there is one in Manchester the 2nd weekend in march. I was going to go to excel one but Manchester seems less hassle!! X

Blueskyrain · 23/11/2016 15:59

Had a private scan today. Obviously it's behind many of yours, because I'm not quite 10 weeks yet, but glad I did it (£40).

It was doing some crazy womb dancing, but perfect size and heartbeat for its age.

I did NCT classes last time (evening ones for about 6 weeks), they were good, although didn't teach me much I didn't already know, they were good for my ex though, as he had no idea what was coming (though turned out to be pretty useless anyway!). I did it really to meet other mum's with similar aged children.

I doubt I'll bother this time though, as can't do evenings with my partner due to childcare issues, and I pretty much know what's coming and DH will just do as he's told Wink also saving the money...

I'm hoping to meet mums through new baby groups (and possibly slimming world!) after baby's born instead.

I lived in h&m jeans last time, I've bought a new pair, but I don't have enough of a bump to keep them up yet, I think I was about 16 weeks when I started last time and wished I could live in them forever!! I don't think it will be too long though, maybe after my 12 week scan...tried them on the other day and they make me look too pregnant!

mrspage1985 · 23/11/2016 16:15

Ordered maternity jeans leggings and tops today! Desperately trying to hold out on buying a Doppler as I know how much stress they can cause - but not sure I can resist!!!

Blueskyrain · 23/11/2016 16:50

I feel a bit flabby, but I'm not having any sort of bump yet, I'm just under 10 weeks, is that normal? Everyone seems to be talking about maternity clothes already!

I'm a bit fat, about a size 14, but I'm not huge, and my friend who is a tad bigger than me had a bit of a bump by now.

Mimi333 · 23/11/2016 17:07

Lolly I did Daisy Birthing last time. I didn't do NCT, just did the NHS antenatal course which was worth going to (for free). Daisy was good, if only really to just lie down in a dark room for an hour a week & have some me time. Also my DH would put a pie in the oven & by the time he picked me up every week it would be ready & we'd have pie with cauliflower cheese (& probably chips too Blush) I have lovely fond memories of that time!

Still feeling sick, I think evenings are worse. My diet today has been 3 tangerines, half a cucumber, 3 GRAB bag crisp packets & a peperami. These poor babies

mrspage I bought a Doppler a couple of weeks ago off eBay for £14 and it's like brand new, I found the heartbeat straight away Smile the kids love listening to it!

MissisBee · 23/11/2016 17:55

bluesky rain I'm 10+2 and no bump to speak of yet. I keep trying to convince myself there is one though. I'm hoping one starts soon though (you can all remind me I said that later on when I'm complaining of being too big!!)
