Welcome newbies

I'm hoping for a girl. I have no idea what to do with boys!! I want to play with the little kitchen sets (I know boys can play with them too!)

Went maternity clothes shopping with mom tonight. Utterly pointless, nothing in M&S, barely anything in Debenhams, H&M isn't worth mentioning, matalan pffft.

What do you all wear for work?!?!
I need mat work trousers but atm it's proving impossible.

Moms ordered some clothes for me off Debenhams online so I, at least have something to wear!!

At this rate I'm going to walking around in my undies ...

Scan at 9am - nervous!!!!!

Had my 12week scan this morning.....all fine. Baby decided to kick legs around give us a little wave.
What a relief!!
Oh and I now have my notes.....they gave them back to me today

I have been eating all round me today, it's great having an appetite for a change.
DH was told today that his company anre closing his branch in February!! Luckily, they've offered him work in 2 nearby branches, 3 days in 1 and 1 in another but it was a bit of a shock.

Congrats on the scans ladies and mimi to our first thread set of twins! Wonder if there will be any more?!

Got the ball rolling with telling my work today by telling the senior manager, the directors aren't in til Wednesday so they will be told then. So nerve wracking telling them, that's what I've been most nervous about. Told a good friend today too, first person I've told in person rather than text... feels weird to say allowed. It's an odd thing to drop in to conversation!

mommy I'm planning on buying a few new dresses for work wrap/cut under bust so they will grow with me. Found lots I like on asos and quite reasonably priced.

mommy the shops don't have great maternity ranges in stores, you're better looking online. Although having said that I spent most of last pregnancy in stretchy dresses as I didn't want to waste ££ on things I'd only wear for a short time. And normal primark leggings too. Or there are FB pages where you can get Mat wear second hand. It's often in great condition as it's barely been worn!

mimi welcome and congratulations! I'm sure you'll manage fine, yes it'll be hard but it won't take long for you to get into a routine etc. At least you've done the new baby thing before and know what you're doing. You'll be a pro!

olivers I have days now where I'm not bloated but yesterday was terrible, really bad trapped wind where it's painful when you stand up straight! Not sure if it's is the pregnancy or my dinner the previous evening which was full of beans (sausage casserole). Thank goodness it's gone!

mommy I was looking at maternity stuff online the other day, quite a few websites have big discounts at the moment especially on summer stock, which will be handy to stock up on as it'll be getting warm again when we're all due. My plan is also to wear wrap dresses with leggings etc. I usually can't wear dresses at work so I'm looking forward to being able to! Red Herring at Debenhams had skirts reduced down to 6 quid when I looked.

So I had my booking in appt with the midwife yesterday, so I'm glad I can finally tick that box! DP was excited about me getting my purple folder and was sending a picture of it to family! It must make it feel more real for him too.

I asked midwife if I might be able to get my scan next week as the following week I'm away on a training course Monday to Friday, which is a 90 minute drive away from the hospital. She's going to put in a request for me. Not only will this get my scan a bit sooner but it'll mean I won't have to cancel the course, I've waited a year for it!! Fingers crossed my letter comes soon.

10 weeks today! (Or 11 weeks according to midwife!)

Good luck ladies with the scans today. I'm at the back of the bus. Have my early scan next Thursday il be 10+6 and then my actual scan the 13th December il be 12+4 . Hope ill be well enough next week to keep some water down for a full bladder for my scan

Scan at 4pm today, will let you know what happens.

So sorry in advance for TMI but I am just so pleased - I have managed to "go" properly for the first time in days! I think due to a combination of more water, ginger, peppermint & lemon tea and hot lemon water and fruit and fibre this morning - can thoroughly recommend all of the above if you're struggling, also feel much less bloated (no surprise there!!)

Hi ladies, not been on here for a while as we had a weekend in London this weekend. I had my booking appointment on Friday and all went well. Haven't felt very pregnant the past few days though. Feel less nauseous and starting to get a bit more energy so feeling a bit anxious. Not had any early scans but starting to feel the need to cave and get one.

My parents come to stay tonight and the in laws come down on Friday so going to try and get to Friday and tell them all at once.

Good luck to the ladies with the scans today. Looking forward to seeing some pics. Mine still feels like it will be ages away.

Hi Monkey I feel the same, reduced symptoms & feel more 'normal' etc. Caved in at the weekend & booked a private scan for tomorrow. It's £90 so DH wasn't too impressed but I don't have a date for my 12 week one yet so hoping it will settle my nerves until that's in the diary X

Hiya!

Scan went ok! Was pretty worried while he was doing it as he was very quiet and didn't say much.... he said at the end though, as far as he could tell from the scan all was well, but obviously you need to wait for the full blood test results. It was dancing around and he played a very brief sound of the heartbeat! (Well I think it was the babies and not mine, again he didn't say anything while doing it!!!

Nunchal measurement was 2.9. Seems quite high but I've googled and up to 3.5 is considered normal!

Oh and he put the date forward two days so 12 + 3!
