Oliversmummy I too am another jealous of the scan people! I am 8+1 today and have no idea when my scan even is. Got booking appointment tomorrrow, so hoping to have a clearer idea of scan date then.

I am feeling ok with the nausea now. Have odd moments but can control it better with food now. I am utterly exhausted though. Like cried in my kitchen last night because I was so tired. I don't know how any of you manage when you have other little ones to look after too. I lost the plot with DH as he decided to go to the gym and we hadn't had dinner and the kitchen was a mess and I just wanted to go to bed but needed to eat. My latest symptom is getting up to pee during the night. Never in my life have I been someone who gets up to pee but don't think this is helping the tiredness. Hoping this is just a phase.

The midwives have finally phoned me with a booking in appointment. I will be 10+3 when I book in and will then have to wait for a letter with a scan date so im hoping I can get a scan before 14 weeks. I'm not even sure I can make the booking in appointment as it is my older child's inset day at school and I won't have anyone to look after him (he has multiple disabilities and taking him with me isn't an option) but if I don't take that appointment I will have to wait at least another week as they only do booking appointments one day a week 😩

VeganMama83 · 17/11/2016 12:48

Welcome glitter!

Six hope you can get the booking in sorted. Is there any chance MW could come to you instead? I have friends who've had booking in at home for various reasons. Just a thought x

VeganMama83 · 17/11/2016 12:49

Oh and just to let anyone know who hasn't seen further back in the thread.

Facebook group is up and running. If you want to join then PM me and I'll give you my name so you can add me and I can add you to group.

Absolutely cool if you want to join later on too xx

Sixisthemagicnumber · 17/11/2016 13:07

Unfortunately they can't come to me vegan. They have had to send me to a clinic further away than normal because they lost my original referral and if they wait any longer they will be risking not getting a scan slot in time.

Walkerbean16 · 17/11/2016 15:00

We had our scan today :) all looks good, very wriggly baby! Looks so much bigger than I thought it would be! Dates were exact so I can stay on the June board!! EDD 1/6/17!

Sonographer did find a big cyst on my ovary but said it was very common and nothing to worry about?!

Catlady100 · 17/11/2016 16:18

Ah that's a lovely clear scan! Congrats! Cat x

MumofthreeandBean · 17/11/2016 17:11

Lovely scan walker xx

MoonlightMojitos · 17/11/2016 17:43

walker when I had an early scan they found a cyst which they called corpus luteam or something they said it's the ovary you ovulated from and completely normal so probably the same thing? Apparently it releases the hormones in early pregnancy and is a good thing!

MoonlightMojitos · 17/11/2016 17:44

Oh and congrats by the way!!

haveacupoftea · 17/11/2016 17:49

fourcorneredcircle i sometimes feel like there's a big poo in there Blush

Fab scan walker!! So cute

Poppydm · 17/11/2016 18:37

Love the scan pics! They're amazing. So hard to believe a little person is in there. Can't wait for mine next week - thanks for the info Mrspage. Everyone at my work is guessing but not to my face. I keep catching people looking at my tummy and they keep asking funny questions and making references to babies. It's funny because they don't know that I know that they they they know 😂 - it's like that bit on friends! I mean I have been eating like im feeding a small family so I can hardly blame them for thinking something might be happening. My trousers are defo at bursting point so will be glad to tell people soon so I can start wearing stuff that's more comfortable. Sorry to hear people are still feeling sick. That sucks. Hope it passes soon. I've just got tummy issues - wind, constipation - all sooo glamorous! Still feeling tired a lot of the time too. We've not bought anything either yet. Been looking at lots of cute things though. Which travel systems/prams can anyone recommend?

catlady15 · 17/11/2016 18:44

Lovely scan walker! We are scan buddies oliversmummy Smile. I've got my scan three weeks Tuesday. Let's hope 13 is our lucky number! Hope you get your date soon monkey.

I don't think I would mind my brother knowing if it didn't work out, but I'm not sure if they might be trying too so don't want to bring it all up unless things are for sure if you see what I mean.

Ooh we are now two catladies! Hello catlady100!

catlady15 · 17/11/2016 18:49

Oh no, that is wishful thinking! My scan is four weeks on Tuesday! 13th December.

MundayCakes85 · 17/11/2016 19:23

Lovely pic of baby there! It all starts to feel real once you see the little bean.
My scan is next Thursday, looking forward to it, but worried as DD will have to come too. What can I take to keep her occupied? Bribe with Peppa Pig and raisins?

Walkerbean16 · 17/11/2016 19:40

Thank you everyone :) we have just told the children, they are happy (although already arguing over who gets to share a room with the baby!!)

Thanks for the reassurance about the cyst moonlight

Catlady100 · 17/11/2016 19:56

Hello Catlady15! 👋 your scan is one day ahead of me - I'm on the 14th 😊😊

Also booked my Harmony today (for the 10th) - very nervous about that.

Is anyone else having it?

Cat x

KittyVonCatsington · 17/11/2016 20:02

walkerbean what a beautiful scan photo!!!! Our babies are proper 'babies' eh?! Cysts on ovaries are very common, yes, so nothing to worry there as moonlight said. Most ovaries create them all the time strange things

My dating scan is in two and a half weeks and shall be enjoying seeing everyone's scan photos until then!

My tummy is definitely not as hairy as last time at this stage so hopefully dodged a bullet there!

Hopefully MundayCakes, DD will be so mesmerised with what is going on that she won't need much entertaining. Oh it's so wonderful she is going with you!

RoseBud2016 · 17/11/2016 20:36

Walker Congratulations on your scan! As others have said, an ovarian cyst is nothing to worry about and actually very normal as it releases the hormones that help sustain the pregnancy up until the placenta takes over.

Catlady100 Welcome! I'm having the harmony test scan on 30th Nov when I'll be 9+5, and the blood test 2 days later. It's something DH and I definitely want to do, but the wait for the results is going to be tough.

mrspage1985 · 17/11/2016 20:44

For those doing the harmony tests - is there anything in particular that makes u want to book the test before the NHS results? I'm so tempted but don't have any real reason for needing it? Or at least not yet until we receive the NHS results of test x

MrsPotatoHead80 · 17/11/2016 20:49

Hi CatLady!
We were due to have the harmony test today but we're measuring 4 days behind which takes us to 9+3 so we have to go back next week as they said they won't do them until 10 weeks.
You might want to check that Rose so you don't waste a trip if I've read that right & you'll be under 10 weeks x

RoseBud2016 · 17/11/2016 20:57

Mrspage For me it is because we have had 2 previous MCs this year which my IVF clinic suspects is due to chromosomal abnormalities (although we can't know for sure because our embryos weren't tested prior to transfer) The harmony test is 99% accurate while the standard NHS test is around 80% accurate.
For most people there probably isn't any real need to have it done. But because of our past experiences, DH and I want the additional peace of mind that it will (hopefully) bring. And the earlier we can get that, the better.

Mrspotato I believe its only the bloods that have to be taken at 10 weeks or more. The scan can be done earlier- we will just do it in two separate visits.
Good luck with yours! It must be hard having to wait longer than you expected x

MrsPotatoHead80 · 17/11/2016 21:14

Yes Rose you're right i must have read your post wrong as I thought it said you would still be under 10 weeks. I'm very tired, I promise that normally I can read! Lol

It is but the scan totally made up for it Smile

Good luck with yours too x

Catlady100 · 17/11/2016 21:20

Hi Mrspage - I wanted it because although it's still a screening it's much nearer to being diagnostic than the NHS one. Also I suspect my age (37) would raise my risk significantly on the NHS screening and add to my anxiety (which I suffer from) so I may well end up needing it anyway.

I had my booking today and because I'm having harmony she said there is no point having the NHS blood test so I'll just have a dating scan at 12 weeks.

If I was a bit younger I would probably have stuck with NHS. Cat x

Catlady100 · 17/11/2016 21:23

I agree Rose - the wait will be horrible. Think it's only a few days though? Cat x
