oliversmummy my dates are a bit different to what i thought too, so i'll be having my 12 week scan at 11+2. I don't think its a major problem if you're a few days early?

I'm getting really nervous now that there will be nothing there. Wish i'd never come across the term MMC Sad

10+5

MumofthreeandBean · 14/11/2016 14:05

I'm getting myself in a state about my scan, I keep reading stories and now I can't stop thinking....blDted internet sometimes isn't a good thing

oliversmummy26 · 14/11/2016 14:32

cupoftea I'd be very interested to hear how you get on...when I had my DS my first scan was at 10+4 (we thought from dates I was 12 weeks) so obviously nothing doing on the NT. They reschduled for 11+4 and baby wasn't playing ball and wouldn't get in the right position, so I ended up having the quad test at 16 weeks instead, which isn't nearly as accurate and is only based on bloods.

I really don't want the same to happen this time, especially as I am now over 35 and also already higher risk (my risk with DS was 1:2500 and I was 31)

HazyHazyJeans · 14/11/2016 15:32

With DD I had the scan bang on 12 weeks but DD was wriggling all over the place (sign of things to come! Hmm) and they couldn't get measurements. I was offered a second scan but just said I was happy to just have the blood tests at 16w which is less accurate but I had no reason to be significantly worried.

I think I've mentioned before that the dating scan and nuchal measurements can be done anytime between 11-14weeks, I think! Happy to be corrected by anyone more knowledgeable Smile

oliversmummy26 · 14/11/2016 16:14

You're right Hazy they can be done between 11 and 13+6, I'm just worried that if my dates are off, I'm more likely to be less than 11 weeks when I get there on 6th and so will have to come back anyway..

DH works away during the week, so for a mid-week appointment he has to take 2 days minimum off work, and it's a 1.5 hour round trip to the hospital. I also haven't told work yet and don't have much holiday left to be taking half days all over the place!

I'm calling hospital back tomorrow when the lady "in the know" is there, as the person I spoke to totally understood that I don't want to waste anyone's time, but she couldn't make the decision.

HazyHazyJeans · 14/11/2016 16:22

Totally understand olivers. I hope you can get the date changed Smile

AlltheMs · 14/11/2016 16:26

Hi all, can I join you? I'm new here but I'm 35 and 7+3 with my 1st. Due on 30th June. I don't feel any different really and am really anxious that this means that all is not well. Have early scan booked in for this Saturday when I'll be 8+1.

VeganMama83 · 14/11/2016 16:32

Welcome All!

Getting so hard to hide this! 10 weeks today and bump looked like this at 13w with my first and 11/12 weeks with my second!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 14/11/2016 17:04

Oooh vegan that is a proper little bump Smile
My bump isn't that pronounced yet but I am only 8+6 and I am getting more Obviously pregnant by the day. Currently wearing baggy clothes to hide my bump as we don't way to tell anyone until after 12 week scan. I don't think you will be able to hide yours for much longer. Do you have massive bumps by the end? I always look like I am having twins by the end and get people commenting on my enormous bump 🙄

I am currently at college doing a fashion course and I am making very fitted clothes which we are expected to try on each week for adjustments /portfolio pictures and I'm not sure how I am Going to manage this over the next few weeks.

oliversmummy26 · 14/11/2016 17:10

I feel (and look) massive at the moment, but I still think it's only bloat (mostly because I can suck it in, lol!). I'm in baggy clothes, and am trying to wait until my scan before telling anyone (and getting into my maternity jeans).

I think it's all bloat and chocolate chip cookies if I'm honest!

RoseBud2016 · 14/11/2016 17:38

Aww Vegan That's a gorgeous little bump you've got there!

All Due date buddy! Smile Welcome! The fear is awful isn't it? Not long for you to wait now!

haveacupoftea · 14/11/2016 17:51

Will let you know oliversmummy. Not sure if I will be offered NT as i am under 35 and in Northern Ireland things are a bit different anyway.

Love the bump vegan! So cute.

MoonlightMojitos · 14/11/2016 17:52

dotty I had my booking 2 weeks ago today and havnt heard back so presuming good news.

YORKSHIRES WITH JAM. what is this madness?!!!!!! And no buttered biscuits here either 😂

Chip butties though... mmmm!!!! I've been craving chips all day funnily enough! Would love a butty! Chicken and noodles for dinner though disappointingly.

I can finally say my scan is next week (next Friday!) Can't come soon enough!

Dragon5000 · 14/11/2016 18:10

I booked on the Friday and the results came back midweek I think. They rang to tell me the w as extra white blood cells which either means I'm pregnant or have an infection and did I think I was ill!
I'm fat anyway but I'm much fatter! If I wear mat jeans I look bumpy.

Free dentist treatment.... Whats included? I am terrified but need a lot of work doing. Like caps or crowns etc is that included?

11+5

MoonlightMojitos · 14/11/2016 18:30

dragon I think anything that's necessary is included! I don't know when I'll get my exemption card though, have you had yours? I was wondering this yesterday.

Dragon5000 · 14/11/2016 18:38

I've got the form in pack wheb I booked but I haven't filled it in yet, tonight's job!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 14/11/2016 18:42

Any dentist treatment that would normally be subject to NHS charges is included moonlight.
I had a crown last time for free with my NHS maternity exemption.

MissisBee · 14/11/2016 19:19

tea I think NT is only available privately here in NI.

I had a great start to they day - puked on the bathroom floor, then took a migraine in work. Was planning on telling my boss soon anyway but ended up just blurting it out today as I felt to rubbish.
Feeling better now and about the attempt my pilates class

Dragon5000 · 14/11/2016 21:16

Cool good to know six I haven't been to the dentist for about 10 years proper 😱😱😱

Sixisthemagicnumber · 14/11/2016 21:22

Go now and get everything done whilst it is free dragon. Do bear in mind that most dentists won't touch amalgam fillings whilst you are pregnant so if you need an old filling removing and replacing they won't do it until after you have delivered baby. But dental care is still free until baby is a year old.

Mommytobe2017 · 14/11/2016 21:43

Just been on a rather unsuccessful trip for mat clothes. Specifically work trousers. Couldn't find anything in m&s, h&m had a little but looked like a sale rale...

I have enough trouble getting trousers long enough anyway, this feels impossible already Sad

I knew I should have started looking weeks ago...

Sixisthemagicnumber · 14/11/2016 21:50

Most mat clothes are online order only mommy. Next and gap both have ranges but only online and H and m have much more online than in store.

Masweetpea1 · 14/11/2016 22:02

mommy , If you're on Facebook there are often local mums groups on there and people sell their maternity clothes. They're normally in great condition as they have hardly been worn. I got an amazing bundle of jojo maman bebe clothes for £25, tops, skirts, trousers. In superb condition and really nice too. (that is if you're happy wearing second hand, I'm all for saving money at the mo Blush).

Also for you first time mums, these sites are amazing for bundles of baby clothes and all baby accessories. People sell bin bags full of baby clothes for a tenner. Again the babies are in them for such a short period of time that they're normally in great condition.
