Aw six i'm jealous. Cant wait for a bump Smile

MoonlightMojitos · 13/11/2016 22:08

My mum said 'aw you've got a bump' on Thursday... thanks mum, definately just bloat at 10 and a bit weeks haha. I'm lucky I usually have a really flat stomach (it's my favourite part of my body, not for long I bet haha). Mine is still flat in the morning though but bloats as soon as I eat anything at all. I've stopped weighing myself as it was just stressing me out and I have more important things to worry about as long as baby is healthy!

MoonlightMojitos · 13/11/2016 22:09

As for cravings... I had a mad one for cheese and pickle on crackers the other day, shame I could only have cheddar but it did the job Grin

Skee · 13/11/2016 22:20

Evening all!

I have two words for you ladies....

Pickled. Gherkins.

❤️❤️❤️❤️

NappingRabbit · 13/11/2016 22:25

Mommy I'm a 10-12 normally and bought size 12 maternity wear (with a few exceptions where things came up bigger so I bought a 10) which did the job perfectly. So I think if you put on an average amount of weight just stick to your normal size.

I am with you on the bloat bump Moonlight - my jeans fit fine first thing but after lunch I get quite uncomfortable and after dinner look 5 months gone.

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/11/2016 03:23

vegan now I want a chip butty! Not had on in years! Do they do them in chippys down south?

I bought some new trousers for work from next today, not maternity I just went up a dress size to tide me over. The sizing in Next is so inconsistent! I picked up what I thought were two size 12's. Went to try on the first pair and realised they were on the wrong hanger- size 10. Tried them on anyway and they were perfect, super comfy around my bloated tummy. Then tried on the next pair, a very stretchy size 12 but tighter than the size 10 pair around the waist?? Bought them anyway and wore them tonight, thankfully they've worn in nicely and were very comfy even after a big dinner Smile

Cravings- the other day I really wanted plain digestive biscuits spread with butter. Used to do this when I was a kid. DP thinks it's weird. Maybe it's a northern thing?

MumofthreeandBean · 14/11/2016 06:41

Well my bump doesn't disappear, I took a pic - not very good but sent it to my sister and she agrees with me, hubby on the other hand thinks I'm exaggerating, but if it was bloat it would subside at some point, it does get bigger after eating aswell. Anyway I'm on medications for all things tummy related so I guess I should know! He's just going to get a huge shock at the scan when I'm either 4 weeks further on or there are multiples in there!! I also think I've been showing for weeks.

Cravings for me was bacon, then apples and now violife cheese with pickle sauce sandwich.
skeeI hate gherkins!!

11.5

Skee · 14/11/2016 07:08

Hahaha! So did I Bean! 😂

I definitely want bacon now though! With pancakes and maple syrup.... in reality, it'll be bran flakes 😔

We were given plain digestives with a bit of butter as kiddies too Dizzy, so also a Scottish thing?

10wks today! Excited about double digits 😊

VeganMama83 · 14/11/2016 07:19

Double digits today here too!! Yay!

Dizzy they don't do the butties here I just get the chips and make at home! It didn't disappoint last night, got to make sure I don't make it a regular habit tho!

VeganMama83 · 14/11/2016 07:19

I've heard of the digestive with butter thing too but never had it!

HazyHazyJeans · 14/11/2016 07:45

Morning everyone

Mmmm chip butties! I'd love one of them right now. Butter on digestives seems perfectly normal to me (Scotland) so maybe a northern/Scottish thing?

Nothing new here really. Booking in tomorrow...

Hope everyone's feeling ok.

8+5 (according to scan)

MumofthreeandBean · 14/11/2016 07:50

No buttery digestives here in Norfolk 😂

Monkeyandthebear · 14/11/2016 09:34

Just told my boss and his boss. Tried to tell them both at the same time, but my boss wouldn't let me so had to tell him first then his boss. Both seem supportive, the more senior one more than my boss. Got told that whatever I need to let them know. I hope it continues this way Hmm

MumofthreeandBean · 14/11/2016 09:37

That's good monkey they sound supportive!

Dottyb21 · 14/11/2016 09:38

Hi ladies - has anyone had their booking in appointment yet? I had mine Friday morning - just completely stressing now about the blood test results - I have always been a worrier ... so instantly I think the worse! The midwife said to me would only hear if there was something wrong ... how long do you think I realistically have to worry for in terms of days :) has anyone had theirs back yet xx thank you xx

MumofthreeandBean · 14/11/2016 10:20

dotty I have heard nothing about my bloods, if there was any concerns you would hear within a few days. Try not to worry xx

Dottyb21 · 14/11/2016 10:26

Thank you ... I have been born a worrier - only going to get worse I imagine :) xx

ymmv · 14/11/2016 10:35

Childhood friends used to butter digestives sometimes also with jam or golden syrup (London)

I've been having some hideous migraines and have tried to find a soft yoga type bra for sleeping in. Crocheting madly but not any baby stuff until after my scan. I'm still not convinced there's anything in there. It's just so odd that my life (both restrictions and feeling awful) has changed so much already and I've only had a pregnancy test at home and handed urine in at my GP's.

HazyJeans I am also booking in tomorrow Smile

and as far as I know am

How's peaceloveandbiscuits doing? Has she been around recently?

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/11/2016 10:41

My hometown is very close to the Scottish border so perhaps the digestive thing is something that's spread across the border?! Yum!

Funnily enough the chip butty thing came up at work the other day when someone was talking about northerners liking chips and gravy (it's not a thing where I'm from though-or certainly wasn't for me anyway). I mentioned chip butties then and was met with blank faces, apart from someone who went to uni up north. I'd never thought about them in years, probably since I was a teenager, so I've no idea if it's possible to get one round here. Luckily my local chippy is next to a co op so I could make my own!

I can't wait to tell work. Hopefully my scan won't be too far away and then I can. I will be put on restricted duties straight away, I'm not been lazy but after 8 years of hard work I'm looking forward to (hopefully) taking it easy for a few months.

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/11/2016 10:42

Oh, my DP has leftover Yorkshire puddings cold spread with jam!! Anyone ever heard of that?!

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/11/2016 10:46

ymmv I feel exactly the same, I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow and I'm only just seeing my GP, haven't had any confirmation yet that I'm actually pg other than my bfp back in October!

I'm a knitter, I have a few patterns for baby things, I'm also itching to get going but might leave it until after Xmas as I'm scared of jinxing things.

Sixisthemagicnumber · 14/11/2016 10:51

I can't knit or crochet but i can sew and I have some stretchy fabrics lined up waiting to make some maternity clothes as soon as I have had my 12 week scan (not even had booking in yet).

oliversmummy26 · 14/11/2016 11:32

I am feeling an awful lot like there's not much going on in there either! Had GP appointment at 4 weeks (waste of time, he did nothing really) given some wee to midwife at 7 weeks (now a mix up with my dates and booked for scan at 11 weeks not 12, so trying to fix that!)

It does rather seem like everyone takes your word for it for so long!
I'm desperate to have my scan, I would stick with the 11 weeks date knowing I will probably have to go back a week later, but it means my husband taking time off work twice and it's a 1.5 hour round trip each time...so costing us lots of money!!

I do wish they would offer dating scans more, as then the 12 week would be far more accurate and everyone would know where they are.

I have 4 friends and SIL's due before me, so madly crocheting blankets as well as knitting a jumper for my DS for Christmas and sewing Christmas bunting for presents, so super busy in the evenings at the moment - no time for early nights here!!

RoseBud2016 · 14/11/2016 12:33

Weird question but is anyone else finding that their ears are completely blocked? Not with wax, but like a really really bad cold???

I googled it and it seems to be a 'thing' Who knew?!

Mommytobe2017 · 14/11/2016 13:12

I was told my bloods would be discussed at my 16 week appt so I need to book a double appt.

Which just happens to be the week between xmas and new year...

I am still waiting for my urine results..i know no news is good news but I can't stop thinking about it

I must be 10 weeks too now... midwife confused me and put me a day ahead of what I thought.

I know I'm the same as vegan due 13th Grin
