Tea with DD I used to wait until last minute to put my trousers on before work just incase I weed when I was being sick. This time I'm weeing if I hold a wee in for too long as well as when I'm sick. It's very glamorous growing a human.

MrsLem · 12/11/2016 20:11

Hello ladies,

Have been lurking for a while but haven't introduced myself. I'm 10+1 with long hoped for first child. Had a scare a few weeks ago with bleeding and what not but second scan showed bean ticking away quite the thing!

My next scan is 1st Dec, very nervously waiting. Apart from tiredness and sore boobs I don't really have any major symptoms. Although the Christmas adverts are making me cry a lot. Hugs to everyone who has been sick.

Loving the chat group, it's helping it all sink in! Xxx

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has looked into the harmony test? (or any others) Last time i just went with nhs, but have heard of the harmony tests now. It doesn't look like nhs provide it and it's about £400 private. x

Hello Lem! Welcome and congratulations Star Sorry to hear of your recent scare, but glad you've had the reassurance that all is well x

Beans, I'm with you on the threshold barriers 😂 I was considering getting back in the pool.... what is this SPD of which you speak Rose?!

Aww Vegan, sorry to hear you're struggling too, hugs x

MrsRose1987 · 12/11/2016 21:12

Skee SPD is the most horrific pain I have ever encountered. Worse than childbirth IMO)! It's basically pain in your pelvis and hips from the release of hormones and baby weight. Mine was a bit different thought. Mine was from my bones being stiff or something so they basically said there was nothing they could do for me. I was 14 weeks pregnant and I went in the pool and I couldn't walk when I got out. Not trying to frighten anyone just sharing my experience. It gets worse with each pregnancy, so I'm expecting to to kick in soon.

HazyHazyJeans · 12/11/2016 21:31

SPD can be really horrible as rose says. Luckily I didn't get it last time but a few of my friends did. I really enjoyed swimming when I was pg with DD.I had a sore back a lot & the swimming really really helped. So I suppose, as with most things, it can be different for everyone!

Welcome lem Smile

KittyVonCatsington · 12/11/2016 21:50

Huge congratulations to all the new additions today-such wonderful news!

Early pregnancy symptoms can be so rough can't they?! I am so desperate to do a Number 2 and just can't!!!

MrsLem · 12/11/2016 22:09

Definitely! Pregnancy is not glamourous!

RoseBud2016 · 12/11/2016 22:19

Great news about your scan Hazy Such a relief isn't it?!

Masweet DH and I have discussed the Harmony test and have decided to do it. For us it's just an extra level of peace of mind we need after such a long and difficult journey to get to this point. What are you thinking? X

MrsRose1987 · 12/11/2016 22:25

Sweet and Rose what are harmony tests?

MoonlightMojitos · 12/11/2016 23:30

Hey everyone, I've managed to keep down a glass of a water and some soup this afternoon (hooray) so feel like I'm getting better! No idea why this got so bad suddenly and can't wait to just be normally nauseous again! I was worrying I'd end up in hospital if I couldn't keep anything down much longer.

Welcome mrslem :)

Masweetpea1 · 13/11/2016 01:51

Great news moonlight .
mrsrose, is a blood test you can have done privately that gives you more certainty whether baby has one of the trisonomy conditions. I think its 100% for downs. I think people have it after the nhs one if they are high risk. Its so you don't have to have the amnio which is risky.

I just wondered if anyone had heard of it as i hadn't before a few weeks ago.

Myfirstbornisacollie · 13/11/2016 06:17

Masweetpea I had harmony test with DD 4 years ago it was relatively new then. I had a similar test last week NIFTY. It can be used after NHS screening if high risk to avoid amniocentesis and miscarriage risk or if you are over 35 like me and worried likely to be higher risk anyway you can get it from 10 weeks and get genetic conditions, especially trisomies screened.

MumofthreeandBean · 13/11/2016 06:56

Morning, blasted cough and cold awoke me at 4.30, now I'm sat sniffing under a blanket downstairs with a headache trying not to cough coz my throats hurts so much.
Miserable weekend!!
Got no honey and lemon and paracetamol isn't working.

Skee · 13/11/2016 07:39

Dragging myself out of bed for another consumer event, this is my thought for the day:

Does anyone else feel like there's a huge conspiracy surrounding pregnancy?! There must be... who in their right mind would put themselves through the nausea/vomiting/constipation/incontenence/bizarre horrific pain that comes from nowhere? And, most of these things are suffered in silence, for at least 12wks!

How didn't I get to this age blissfully unaware of how challenging pregnancy is?!😂

Thanks for the heads up Rose - I have so much to learn!

Glad you're feeling better Mojitos, hope you are too Ma and Bean x

MumofthreeandBean · 13/11/2016 08:09

Suffer in silence - that's what us mums do skee xx

Skee · 13/11/2016 08:45

That's should've read 'how did I get to this age'

You're right Bean! And to think how many are doing all of this whilst looking after little ones! I just need to keep my job at this point 😂 With my shortening fuse, that might prove quite a challenge 😂

Mums are heros! Star

Dragon5000 · 13/11/2016 09:05

Suffering in silence is the mums way!

In other news I slept from 12-7 I feel as happy as when my son first slept through!

I've also woken up thinking I need to get my arse back to sw so I'm not the size of a house by Christmas. Seeing consultant Tuesday so will discuss with her as I'm there partly for high bmi.

11+4 this afternoon next week the cat will be out the bag! Can't bloody wait!

MissisBee · 13/11/2016 09:07

Kitty I feel you pain re number 2s. I invested in fybogel yesterday. Wasn't sure if I'd be able to take it without retching but it was OK, a bit like gritty berocca. Trying to eat a bit more fruit, my diet has been shocking this week.

Had a wonderful afternoon with my best friends yesterday - one friend made us proper afternoon tea. I was worried beforehand that I wouldn't be able to manage any cake but they were so nice and dainty, I ate nearly everything.

Have to go and stand at the cenotaph in the cold and probably rain this morning, I'd rather stay in bed.

8+6

KittyVonCatsington · 13/11/2016 09:23

Lactulose might be your friend more than Fybogel MissisBee-one of my midwives last pregnancy said that it was because Baby was taking all the 'good stuff' as opposed to lack of fibre. So if it doesn't improve in about a week, do try it. It just softens it a little bit and makes it easier to go but won't stop the actual constipation.

Mommytobe2017 · 13/11/2016 09:58

Morning,

A cure for constipation for me is oranges or orange juice. I had half a bottle the other day. Boy, did I regret it.

Had the horrifying shock this morning that my jeans don't fit anymore. Leggings are the way forward!!

Told my sisters last night. They both cried... I didn't! I was impressed after how much I cried after I told mom.

They are both thrilled. I'm relieved that they know now. Only a couple of weeks till i can tell everyone else!

9+5

MrsRose1987 · 13/11/2016 10:07

Thanks Sweetpea I'very never heard of it. DH and I decided we would keep our baby no matter what. We're just so grateful to be blessed with 2 children that we couldn't bring ourselves to terminate if anything was wrong. I also methink someone once who was told her son had a 99% chance of having Down's Syndrome. He was born perfectly healthy and without any conditions. Sounds like a lot of money to me but I totally understand needing the reasurance. Would be hypocritical for me to judge when I'm off for my private scan today.

MrsRose1987 · 13/11/2016 10:08

Oh and RE the constipation. Prune juice. It's called poop juice in our house.

DizzyNorthernBird · 13/11/2016 11:32

Morning! Just trying to catch up

beans welcome! I'm still exercising, I've been really lucky as I've had minimal nausea or symptoms. I've put on a few pounds as I need to graze constantly so I'm keen to avoid putting on too much weight. I'm trying to run 3-4 times a week but I'm focusing on just getting out of the door rather than worrying about pace or distance, then once I'm out I run according to how I'm feeling. I'm generally sticking to about 4.5 miles but I'm going to see how I get on with 6m this afternoon to burn off the ridiculous amount of chocolate and biscuits I ate yesterday

mrslem I've just been sobbing my heart out at the John Lewis advert!!! Is it just me? It's supposed to be lighthearted but that music just gets me going!

Oh and don't even get me started about the story in the news about that greyhound who went for his last walk....Sad
