I'm exhausted all the time too. I'm in bed around 9 and up at 6 but spend all day feeling tired. My toddler still wakes some nights so that isn't helping. I had to take little one out for a walk earlier just to keep myself awake.

Dragon5000 · 10/11/2016 12:32

I'm exhausted, more now than before. Falling asleep on the sofa most nights

Having a real work dilemma today. I have recently had a change of boss. The team is Boss, me and one other. The other person has handed in notice so just me now. I have just had Boss and Boss's Boss both sit me down and discuss how they see me as his No. 2 and how they want to prepare me to do the job over he next year. We will replace the other guy with someone less experienced but I can work to train them etc. Basically they are going to build the team around me. I haven't told them I am pregnant. My colleague knows, but neither Boss. They are asking for commitment and are planning my development.

Do I tell them or do I not? I wanted to wait until after Christmas but feel like I can't hide it when they are planning the team around me being here. I want to develop and want to do that as I come back (although thought I might change companies to do it) so don't want to burn my bridges and I feel if they get into the recruitment process of someone as a junior to work with me, they are going to then need someone more capable as maternity cover. Confused

VeganMama83 · 10/11/2016 13:06

monkey I would tell them sooner rather than later and they can adjust plans accordingly to get replacement for junior with someone with more experience. Let them know you want the opportunity to progress now and when you return! That's what I would do anyhow x

MumofthreeandBean · 10/11/2016 13:57

Difficult monkey but I would definately tell them, they can't base a team around you as you will be absent in 6mths

I'm full of cold and tired! Can't lift my legs.
Long day tomorrow so hoping I get a good sleep tonight!!

haveacupoftea · 10/11/2016 14:03

monkey i do think you should tell them...make it clear you're committed and possibly come up with a plan of how long you want to take off and how you think the situation could be managed.

oliversmummy26 · 10/11/2016 14:51

I would tell them monkey it would go a long way I think with them if you were honest now?

I'm fed up here, bored of waiting for my scan (only 7+2 today) so going to be another 5 weeks yet probably and I think it's because we haven't told anyone...

So jealous of all these early scans, and I'm very tempted, but just can't justify the expense so close to Christmas... it's not really that I'm worried that there's anything wrong with our little Bubble, I'm just so impatient!!

oliversmummy26 · 10/11/2016 14:54

Also, I've jumped on the Sweet Clem bandwagon too (4 today already!)
And am addicted to Earl Grey tea now as well, tastes like Christmas! Smile

lamafarmer · 10/11/2016 14:56

If you like earl grey and clems - try empress grey from M&S! I promise you won't be disappointed!

oliversmummy26 · 10/11/2016 15:59

Ooh, I'm popping into M&S on Saturday to collect my soft and comfy bras (literally cannot wait!) so will look this up and try it out, thanks!

VeganMama83 · 10/11/2016 16:28

My afternoon has consisted of emptying bins/cat litter, cleaning the bathroom, and making vegan mince pies with my two boys.

vegan they look good!!

Masweetpea1 · 10/11/2016 17:00

Oooh vegan, send some my way! Grin

Dragon5000 · 10/11/2016 17:32

I've had mince pies for breakfast everyday for a week!
I would be honest monkey save any awkwardness later on

Masweetpea1 · 10/11/2016 17:58

I agree monkey , it should play in your favour anyway as you are extra protected in employment law once they officially know you are pregnant! So with the changes going on you are extra protected if they decided to 'change their minds' about the structure. (... spot the cynical employment law person Wink)
Good luck Smile

Just had Chinese (again), the fruit didn't agree with me, so I'm back on beige.... Blush. Feeling less tired now though, almost re-energised!! Smile

Poppydm · 10/11/2016 19:05

I think I'd tell them Monkey. Not ideal but I think probably better in the long run. Yessss to the sweet clems Oliversmummy. Delish! Vegan not sure about the risks but my midwife told me to avoid as much as possible having anything to do with the cat litter. Not sure if it's worth checking? I'm with everyone on the tiredness. Just want to spend these cold days snoozing in my cozy bed.

Myfirstbornisacollie · 10/11/2016 20:07

This evenings scan- lots of wriggling and arm flapping from active Bean!

FlashingLights · 10/11/2016 20:14

Ooh tricky one monkey - I think being upfront now would benefit in the long run as they clearly value you as an important member of the team. Hopefully they can still build the new plans around you.

vegan they look delicious! Enjoy!

My DS (5) is the quietest, shyest boy in school who mostly only whispers to his teacher and is always reluctant to answer questions in front of the class etc (total opposite to the crazy, loud, jumping bean he is at home or in small social situations)... well today, he put his hand up in the middle of the class to announce he is having a baby brother or sister! His teacher told DP at pickup. DP laughed and said no not yet Blush . I thought he was doing such a good job at secret keeping! Blush

FlashingLights · 10/11/2016 20:14

Fab pic myfirst - not much of a bean anymore!!

RoseBud2016 · 10/11/2016 20:24

So I'm extremely late to the party but I'm wondering if there's space to squeeze in one more?!
DH and I have been TTC for 27 months, and after 3 rounds of IVF and 2 MCs, today we finally had an early scan with happy news!
A perfect little embryo measuring a day ahead, with a strong heartbeat. It doesn't feel real and I cried a lot! But here I am!

6+6 today. EDD 30/6/17 Smile

Any other IVFers?

RoseBud2016 · 10/11/2016 20:26
