Mommytobe2017 · 09/11/2016 18:40

Hope everyone's had a good day!

I've been feeling the nausea today. Thought I was going to puke in tesco Blush

Ughhh

9+2 (according to midwife?)

Sixisthemagicnumber · 09/11/2016 18:42

I had the flu jab a couple of weeks ago. I have it every year as I am a carer but I mentioned I was pregnant and they checked to make sure they were giving me the correct jab.

MrsRose1987 · 09/11/2016 19:21

Hazy I'm throwing everything up and weeing myself so feeling awesome lol. Pregnancy is pretty identical to DD so convinced it's another girl.

Lama going to wait until 12 week scan to book flu jab. I know it's perfectly safe but don't want to risk anything.

Very excited but very nervous for scan but if it shifts some of this worry then it'll be worth the money.

MoonlightMojitos · 09/11/2016 19:30

I had the flu jab yesterday lama at the drs

Sorry to those feeling crappy today :(. I'm fairing ok recently, just exhausted. Can't wait to be able to stay awake past 9 again!

Counting down the days til my scan now, 16 to go!

MoonlightMojitos · 09/11/2016 19:32

moose I'm the same! The last scan made me feel so much better for a week but last few days it's all I think about is having the next one. Just counting it down now. I'd love to have another but I can't justify £60 when everything was fine last time and I'm feeling fine. My symptoms are easing off which is all that worry me but I know that's normal too.

Dragon5000 · 09/11/2016 19:35

My dearest husband is an idiot at the best of times but tonight he's surpassed himself!
'oh is it twins btw?'
My scan isn't till next friday!
Does he really think I'd a) not tell him how a scan went b) still keeping it secret and c) forget to tell him I was having twins!

Dragon5000 · 09/11/2016 19:37

And apologies for my seeming ignoring of posts my phone doesn't seem to actually update the page till after I post!

Mommytobe2017 · 09/11/2016 19:57

Any suggestions about how I can make sure I drink 2.5-3L a day?

I'm really struggling at work because we're not allowed drinks in the environment we work in... so I have to keep going out of the room to drink...

I have a bottle which is about 700ml. Sometimes I struggle to get through that at work because I'm so busy

MissisBee · 09/11/2016 20:23

I got the flu jab before I knew I was pregnant - work in healthcare so eligible anyway.
Mommy I'm also finding getting enough fluids hard, doesn't help that the nausea is worse when I'm dehydrated.
tea got my hair dyed yesterday, no problems

MoonlightMojitos · 09/11/2016 21:01

Also, I had my hair done Sunday, I can't find any evidence that it's harmful. However, you can become a lot more sensitive when pregnant and I'm usually bleached which can be itchy at the best of times so I've swapped to a normal dye instead (going a bit darker for the winter was my excuse!) And had no problems :)

Dragon5000 · 09/11/2016 21:19

My Dr gave me my flu jab when I went to say I was pregnant about 5 weeks I always have it anyway cos of my job.
I desperately need to dye my hair, I usually bleach myself bit tempted to go dark as I'm growing out and cba with the upkeep!
11 weeks - size of a fig!

mrspage1985 · 09/11/2016 21:31

Had my flu jab at booking in appt at 8 weeks

DizzyNorthernBird · 09/11/2016 22:57

My understanding was that you aren't supposed to dye your hair because your skin is more sensitive? Not because it's harmful to the baby. Easy answer- do a sensitivity test first! I'm very dark and there's no way I'm going 9 months without a root touch up if I can help it!!!

Are we supposed to be drinking 3ltrs a day? Shock I'm barely managing a couple of pints of water and a couple of cups of tea! Must try harder!

I'm also in the need to redo roots club...I just can't stand the smell of anything chemically and don't have the energy or arsedness to do it. Dyeing hair during pg is a bit of a gray area depending on who you speak to. It used to be the chemicals in hair dyes weren't safe to be used as unknown effects and what was passing to baby. Hair dye recipes have since changed and now a days it's more how your hormones make the dye react. When pg with ds I dyed my hair dark red...it ended up blondey orange and curly. My hair was straight as a poker before that.

Purplefairy21 · 10/11/2016 00:14

Hope everyone is doing ok and not suffering to bad. New problem/symptom of pregnancy. My knickers no longer fit Blush as in the slightly too small but wearable in an emergency when you've not done the laundry for a bit ones. There was a bump in the way ConfusedShock what used to be flat if not more leaning towards hollow is now round and sticking out. They weren't kidding about showing earlier with second or more. Im 10+4 Hmm

Myfirstbornisacollie · 10/11/2016 05:52

I also had flu jab ages ago as I work in healthcare. Always exposed to lots of germs!
I've switched to home dying my hair and gone darker as I couldn't face the thought of sitting in salon for a couple of hours feeling sick. Was fed up of summer highlights anyway and it's so much shinier and softer now.
Got my scan and blood test for NIFTY tonight. Taking my mum along as know she'll love to get a preview and has been so supportive. Fingers crossed it all goes ok. We've agreed to opt to find out sex on the bloods too, exciting!

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing okay. Hope the upcoming scans go well. I haven't had one yet. Have to wait until December! I know there have been some stories about bleeding and hoping you could give me some reassurance. I started with brown spotting yesterday and woke up this morning and still some brown spotting. I spoke to midwife yesterday and she said not to worry and get some rest. I'm seeing her tomorrow anyway so shall I just see how it goes and talk to her then? It's not heavy and no cramping. Worrying lots of course.

I'm 7 + 4

HazyHazyJeans · 10/11/2016 07:39

Morning everyone

Try not to worry catlady. If you feel it's getting worse or you get pain, I'd phone the mw again though. I think some bleeding can be very normal.

Not had my flu Jab yet but I suspect it'll be mentioned at booking in next week. This week is absolutely flying in - only 2 sleeps until my early scan! Grin

VeganMama83 · 10/11/2016 08:01

catlady just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse and you have any pain contact GP/MW.

Although it's super common in early pregnancy it's still worrying. I've had it in all my pregnancies including this one so I'm trying to be logical about it as hard as it is being a preg worrier!

My spotting stopped after I spoke to the midwife yesterday. Hoping after the 12 week scan in a few weeks that I can relax a bit more!

I had some brown bleeding cat lady. It was on and off over the course of a week when I was around 6 weeks. I called the EPU and they got me in for an internal scan. The scan showed everything was progressing as expected and they said that some women do get some bleeding and for most of those women everything continues just fine. They told me to ring back of the blood turned bright red and was enough to soak through a pad or if I got severe cramping, otherwise I should just continue with normal antenatal care.

If you are worried give the EPU a ring for a bit of reassurance.

catlady15 · 10/11/2016 08:45

Thanks for the advice guys! It doesn't seem to be getting any worse so I might see how it goes for now and speak to the MW or EPU if I have any concerns.

Masweetpea1 · 10/11/2016 10:38

Is anyone else feeling utterly exhausted? I'm sleeping okish at night, in bed by about 9 and up at half 6. But by 9am today (and having read the 100th story for my little one) i just wanted to crawl back into bed.

I was hoping by 10 weeks that i might have a bit more energy by now. Nausea, headaches and sickness still going strong.
