My nausea calmed down from about ten weeks too, I occasionally get sick with strong smells ( I work with 3-4 year olds so this can be a problem!!) still exhausted though :( we have two midwife mums at work so I'm hoping not to bump into them when I'm giving birth! Could be awkward!

I survived the dentist! They covered my tooth and now I have to wait until after June to get it fixed properly! My nhs exemption certificate arrived this morning though which was handy as I didn't have to pay today.

I've tried adding myself to the spreadsheet but it's not working as I have a very old phone, could somebody please add me? WalkerBean16, age 28, North Yorks, DC3 EDD 1/6/17 1st scan 17/11/16 thank you Smile

Snowdrop2016 · 08/11/2016 15:11

Just back from booking in, she put my edd as 14th June but agreed I'm 9+1 so who knows, I'm sure baby will arrive when he or she is ready!

She has referred me to the obstetrician as I have a long term health condition, not sure really what this means but she did say they would probably send me back once they had checked me out.

It still doesn't quite feel real, she didn't even do another test so I keep thinking someone will phone up to tell me I'm not really pregnant Hmm

mrspage1985 · 08/11/2016 15:43

Is anyone else getting mild period pain type twinges? Had them a few weeks ago which I put down to stretching or round ligament movement. But got them again today though slightly differently, in no way cramping and no bleeding and a heathy scan on Sunday just gone...but can't help he worried?
Please someone tell me this is normal?

babyand · 08/11/2016 15:56

Can anyone that has more than 1 child already please tell me

If you were sick with your first? We're you the same with your other pregnancies? And for the same length of time

I was very very ill with dd. I am ill now on this pregnancy and finding it so challenging with a 16 month old. I'm really really dreading it upping a notch as I won't cope!!

Could there be a chance it won't get a lot worse?

7+4

Masweetpea1 · 08/11/2016 16:15

baby, this pregnancy has been completely different to my last. I was sick most days with my dd until week 22. This one I've only been sick 4 times and I'm on week 10. The nausea this time is worse for me, but when I'm sick I'm really sick!

I think every pregnancy is different Smile

baby my pregnancies with my boys I felt nauseous a little bit but only for less than an hour a day and was gone by 12 weeks both times. This time have felt sick from the beginning and it's all day :-(

I have a boisterous 3.5yo and 2.5yo to contend with this time too Confused

MissisBee · 08/11/2016 16:26

That's good to hear mrspage I just want to eat normally again Smile

Sundaygal · 08/11/2016 16:44

Babyand.... you probably don't want to hear this, but I was sick with my first and second throughout the pregnancy (one boy and one girl) and unfortunately it has begun the same way again Sad. But as everyone says - every pregnancy is different. So I'm still holding out hope that it'll ease up this time!

Mommytobe2017 · 08/11/2016 17:34

Had my booking in this morning and I've just been to have bloods taken.

I can't have mcflurry... Sad

Feeling more real now. Tmi but they found blood in my urine but no protein Hmm
May be UTI so she said to drink plenty and I'll get the results back on Friday...

Started to panic after because of that but managed to relax after telling mom.
Hopefully it's nothing.

She said no runny eggs... Well I had a bit of one the other day... oopsy.

She put me at 9+1? I work it out to be 9 today...

Mommytobe2017 · 08/11/2016 17:38

snowdrop they didn't test me to make sure I'm pregnant. I better be now I've had blood taken!!

Masweetpea1 · 08/11/2016 17:45

mommy, why can't you have mcflurry??? Disaster, i love them!

OP posts:
Monkeyandthebear · 08/11/2016 17:47

Mommy why no mcflurry? Hmm. I occasionally have to taste them at work (not as exciting as it sounds).

FlashingLights · 08/11/2016 17:50

masweet The recommendation of no McFlurry/soft serve ice crean is because of the risk of listeria from the machines because they aren't often cleaned, the same goes for similar ice cream machines such as those in ice cream vans.

Ok I've chucked all my leftover pregnancy tests! Feeling positively crappy again this evening - I shall never moan about being symptom free again!

Mommytobe2017 · 08/11/2016 18:13

Well they said to me because it's not frozen properly to below 0c, the bacteria may not be killed off properly.
The same as from the ice cream van.

Just best to avoid them I guess. Oh and an excuse for ben&jerrys! Grin

Dragon5000 · 08/11/2016 18:27

Bacteria isn't killed by freezing it just halts the growth process untill it warms up again. Soft ice cream is like soft cheese more likely to have raw ingredients and carry listeria

catlady15 · 08/11/2016 18:49

Still on my way home tonight! I have such a long commute I have been thinking there is no way I will be able to continue after. Not even sure how i will manage when i get a bit further along! Starting to think about how much my life is going to change, it's a mix of scary and exciting.

haveacupoftea · 08/11/2016 18:56

tulip I could not care less about work at the minute either. I just want to be at home with baby (even if its still in my tummy), DF and dogs. I am counting down the days till mat leave!

My symptoms have lessened a bit. Still tired but boobs not as sore. Preggo nose has kicked in though, I thought it was a myth! The smell of toilets, even ones that look clean, has me heaving!

flashing your tests will go lighter the further on you go...google the hook effect Smile you've nothing to worry about.

KittyVonCatsington · 08/11/2016 20:21

How did today go MundayCakes? Hope you haven't developed any D and V lovely xx

It's a weird thing maternity leave Tulip -knowing you are going to be off from work for so long or thinking 'I won't be here then' is so odd! When I went back though, it was like I never left and like you, was a little relieved to!

Oh baby feeling constantly sick is just awful and your poor DD. Hope she gets better soon!

May babies are ace mrspage-my DD is one so sounds like a great EDD! Besides, you can be one of the first to give birth and give us all someone to coo over whilst we continue to get fed up being so fat! Grin Period pain twinges can be normal-especially around 8 weeks plus as the placenta finally starts to take over. I remember that from last time!

Oh no to breaking your teeth Walker but at least you will had the free treatment-I loved that part last time!

Hi Snowdrop-congratulations!!! If your partner comes along (although mine never did) they will just ask you the 'are you safe' questions at another appointment.

Not enjoying the tantrumming toddler stage with DD at he no. A tiny newborn feeding ever couple of hours sounds like a dream right now...

haveacupoftea · 08/11/2016 20:45

I've just been researching gender scans and it turns out I can have one from 21st December! I am going to book one for Christmas Eve and tell my family on Christmas Day SmileSmileStar

9+6

MundayCakes85 · 08/11/2016 21:11

I'm still alive Kitty went into work a bit late, finished at 8pm. Now tucked up in bed. Today I've only had a sandwich, a piece of toast and an orange.
Glad I never had MS as I couldn't feel like this for 12 weeks!! I don't know how you girls cope Flowers

KittyVonCatsington · 08/11/2016 21:21

I don't know how you've managed a shift feeling like you do MundayCakes - you're a star! Big hugs to DD too

peaceloveandbiscuits · 08/11/2016 21:48

You can have McFlurry. Don't you think it would be an international scandal if McDonalds didn't clean their machines on a thorough and regular basis?
Ice cream vans are another matter entirely.

FlashingLights · 08/11/2016 22:09

peace You'd think so, but knowing a few people who have worked at McD's doesn't leave me assured of their hygiene levels at all unfortunately! Anyway, it's simply the reasoning for the recommendation.

Monkeyandthebear · 08/11/2016 22:22

McFlurrys are a pasteurised product (actually parts are pasteurised twice) so in theory the actual product is no greater risk than say chocolate milk. Both products are a mix of sugars and flavourings and skim milk and cream. The hygiene factor of the actual stores is something else though so I understand from that point of view. It just made me think about all the dairy products I try at work.

Poppydm · 08/11/2016 22:36

Tea I've booked one for Christmas Eve! Soooo excited! Hope all booking in appointments went well today and hugs to everyone struggling with sickness.
