Do your mean the puffs jacket one prive? I like the 3in1 but it's not available till December and really want to make the most a coat now that's it's winter ! I was going to order. New look one but don't think it's great quality and could really do one with hood for when it rains! I think I will order the Jojo Maman Bebe one !

petiteange28 · 25/10/2016 15:39

I've put on nearly 10lbs but am trying not to panic. I think it is partly down to my sudden drop in exercise and definitely nothing to do with the fact that I am now thinking 'well I can't control my tummy size now so if I want that Mars Bar I might as well have it' Blush

jpeg28 · 25/10/2016 15:58

petite I have been eating what I would call a very 'balanced' diet... if balanced means that chocolate is acceptable every day and if I need ice cream I get it! I'm trying to eat 5 pieces of fruit and veg and day and eating good meals... I just love the sweet stuff!!

petiteange28 · 25/10/2016 16:23

Absolutely with you jpeg28!! I am also making sure I eat the 5 a day but am craving fruit flavoured sweets ie. wine gums or fruit pastilles and chocolate. I'm normally not really fussed with sweet stuff and would rather have a lump of cheese whereas now I have the lump of cheese and then the sweet stuff Wink

Not looking forward to trying to get all the weight off but we'll cross that bridge in May (or June or July or....)

marmitecheesetoast · 25/10/2016 16:50

I haven't looked at coats yet but need to so will be interested to hear what any of them are like.

I'm just worried the MW might say I've put on too much weight too quickly! Got 16 week appointment next week (how fast is this going??!) although don't know whether they weigh you at every appointment. It clearly is all in the bump area, I haven't put any weight on elsewhere yet

Off for a run tonight but it's gone grey now where's my lovely autumnal sunshine gone Hmm much more motivated when it's a nice evening...

JennyOfOldstones · 25/10/2016 17:01

I still had a stone on from DD so really trying not to put too much on this time. Need to try to get back into swimming but hard to find the time/energy. Last time I only got weighed at the start and end of my pregnancy.

Prive120 · 25/10/2016 17:58

I ordered this http://www.seraphine.com/maternity-clothes/coats-jackets/faux-fur-hooded-down-maternity-coat.html mummymulb16
You might also want to look at ASOS as they carry a lot of other brands so it's easy to compare

I'm too scared to weigh myself! I've realised bump is bigger than my boobs now Confused

SussexTeacher · 25/10/2016 18:12

I wasn't weighed at my 16 week appointment. But I have my scan on Thursday and will be weighed then. The nerves are coming back. This anomaly scan is scaring the bejeezus outta me!

choccybiscuit · 25/10/2016 18:21

Definately take advantage of it jpeg, I would!
I really begrudge buying a maternity coat, but I feel the cold easily so I know I'll give in and buy one. prive that one is lovely, bit too pricey for me though Sad

MyGreenSofa · 25/10/2016 18:31

Hi ladies. Wondering if anyone has had this in previous pregnancies? Abdominal/rib & back pain that feels sort of vibrating, comes in waves? I was googling which said possibly gallbladder/gallstones/kidney stones rather than problem with baby and I think it is higher up than baby is. I'd had bad indigestion and put it down to that but coming & going a few days now.

I don't have a number for just midwives to ask questions. Have an EPU but only open 8:30-11:30am or should I try and get GP appointment instead? Hope it just goes away overnight Sad

SharkBastard · 25/10/2016 19:11

I had gallstones with DD, and the pain was worse than labour. I would get attacks and feel like I was dying. The pain is generally in the shoulder, and hurts when inhaling. I found rocking on all fours helped for a bit.

It may well be just all your organs being shoved up higher which is super uncomfortable. Keep an eye on it, and visit your GP as they can examine the area and check if the bladder is inflamed

abeandhalo · 25/10/2016 20:09

Prive that's what shocked me at the weekend - I caught my reflection in a shop window & my tummy was sticking out further than my boobs! And my boobs aren't small!

abeandhalo · 26/10/2016 07:00

Morning, need some advice re: sleeping positions please. Can't sleep on my belly or back obviously & now if I sleep on my sides my hips really ache & hurt. I can just about sleep at 45 degree angles to the mattress, but it's quite the balancing act. Would would of those huge pregnancy pillows help with this? Are my hips going to ache at night for the next 6 months?

sarahhh1984 · 26/10/2016 07:06

Saw the discussion of pregnancy yoga etc. a little earlier so wanted to say if anyone's in the Liverpool area, there's a 6 week pregnancy yoga course called Yoga Bumps and Babies (£45) promoted by the Women's Hospital. There's also a 6 week course called Mamafit (free) which is all about fitness and health during pregnancy. I think both are aimed at teaching you so you can continue the exercises at home. I'm starting both in a couple of weeks.

As for maternity coats, I really begrudged buying one since I'd ultimately only need it for a few months. Instead I went for an oversized cape coat. It has plenty of room for a growing bump, but I'll be able to wear it after the baby's here too.

My bump is funny at the moment. I'm 14+3 and I can see/feel my baby bump creeping up between my hips and my belly button, while above that I have a bit of a wobbly belly which I'm assuming is food plus my organs being pushed up. Not to bothered by this as I always had a bit of a tummy due to IBS. I'm assuming as the baby gets bigger, it will all just become bump! The weird think is I feel like I've actually lost weight on my waist and hips, but put it on over my tummy and boobs. Guess that could just be my body changing shape though.

cantmakeme · 26/10/2016 07:42

Hi everyone, glad to hear of all the growing bumps, and hope that those who have been unwell are feeling better now!

I have the opposite of the "put on loads of weight in second trimester" thing. I put on about 11/12lbs in the first, and haven't put on any since 12 weeks (I'm 16 weeks tomorrow). I thought it was meant to be going on now?! Oh well...

Def won't buy a maternity coat unless it's from eBay or something, feels like a waste of money. I had one last time and never wore it as it felt too hot (it was December, but i think it's common to feel boiling in pregnancy).

Hypnobirthing: have had friends swear by it, but I found that labour made me kind of go into my own world anyway. Yoga is great though, pregnant or not!

Anyone else feeling extremely lazy in the mornings?! Not sure if it's just the usual autumn hibernation feeling, it seems worse than normal!

ChatEnOeuf · 26/10/2016 07:48

I have a babywearing coat that doubles as a maternity coat. It's a bit big on me, but very warm. This will be the third time it's been used, so I'm getting some value out of it.

Abe I've started sleeping with a regular pillow between my knees to keep my pelvis in line. That might help before shelling out on a pregnancy pillow.

abeandhalo · 26/10/2016 07:53

Thanks I will try pillow between my legs first & see if that helps! Going to be v tired today as I have been awake since about 5 with bloody hip pain!

I am definitely going to having to buy a new coat of some sort, can't do mine up anymore.

sarahhh1984 · 26/10/2016 08:28

Yes to the morning laziness, cantmakeme! I work from home and until recently I was very good at getting up by 6am and starting work by 8am-ish. Now, it's very rare that I'm out of bed on time. I really need to break the habit as I much prefer starting work early so I can finish early!

MrsRhubarb · 26/10/2016 08:57

I lost at stone and a half due to sickness, but weight has been stable since I got medication sorted. I have a higher BMI this time anyway, so that level of loss isn't as worrying as it would have been last time around. Belly has suddenly popped out in the last few days, but I haven't put anything on, so it must all just be weird internal gymnastics.

I won't be thinking about weight today anyway, DH and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary with a DD free evening, something scrumptious brought to us by Deliveroo, and the final of the Great British Bake Off. Perfection!

MrsBac83 · 26/10/2016 09:00

I got a maternity coat from New Look and I'm really pleased with it. Its a padded puffa jacket kinda thing with a fur trimmed hood. Only £40. I begrudged paying out as well but its actually really comfortable. Its not obvious its a maternity coat either. I got a size up from what I usually am (although would probably do that with winter coat anyway to accommodate the layers) You could easily get away with it if you weren't pregnant so at least I'll get the wear out of it. It didn't look like it had much bump space in it but I tested it with a pillow up my top and it was fine Grin
Its not particularly smart though is the only thing. Great for day to day but if you were going somewhere nice it might not be best.

Whoever said about feeling lazy in the morning....high five!! I'm sure I don't actually wake up until after I've had a shower, got dressed, had breakfast and am half way to work!!

This one. It looks grey but mine is defo black

jpeg28 · 26/10/2016 09:22

Abe I'm having the same problem, it's like a shooting pain in my hip and back ache. I'm doing the pillow between the legs and that helps a little. I have a pregnancy pillow too but it still hurts!

Happy anniversary MrsR! That sounds like the perfect evening... enjoy!

I'm so lazy in the mornings at the moment! It's half term though so I think that's ok! It will be at least 10 today before I'm showered and dressed!!

Welshy11 · 26/10/2016 09:36

abe I recently bought I wedge from argos and put it under my right hip then I can sleep on my back with my right hip raised.. not sure it's what they recommend but it's the safest position to do cpr on a pregnant lady so I've given it a go. Slept really well... plus feeling better since in the NHS website it says from about 16weeks you may start getting uncomfortable...if your not quite there yet I'd relish sleeping on your back a bit longer!

marmitecheesetoast · 26/10/2016 12:09

Chatenouef I was wondering about buying a baby wearing coat now as a longer-term option than a maternity coat, have tried googling it but not really sure where to start... what's yours like and where did you get it?

GreenSofa hope you are feeling better today?

Sarah that Mamafit course sounds amazing, haven't come across anything like that in Manchester which is a shame. All the pilates/yoga classes I've come across are just run privately too. Apparently there used to be an aquanatalfit class that was run by midwifes at one of the swimming pools near me but that pool has been shut down now Hmm

Sounds like you have a perfect celebration planned MrsRhubarb!

jpeg28 · 26/10/2016 12:58

A wedge sounds like a good idea, thanks welshy I might get one of those too.

I've just wandered around town looking at the baby stuff... I'm still too scared to buy stuff!!

Also has anyone else experienced like a light headed feeling if you haven't eaten for a few hours? I had breakfast and then 3 hours later I thought I was going to faint I went a bit sweaty and light headed until a stuffed a bagel in my mouth! I'm still hungry!
