you rebel jpeg!

so jealous of the lake district - sounds perfect!

remembered a massage chair DH gave me for my birthday a few years ago which has been in the attic for ages it is simply amazing now. I hadn't realised how tight my back had got.

paperandpaint · 25/10/2016 08:10

Hi everyone, just a very quick question. Is it normal to feel initial flutters etc come and go. I've been having quite a few flutters/bubbles since last week but nothing really since yesterday morning. I've got an anterior placenta so was told by the sonographer "who knows when you'll feel anything"!

Anybody else in this situation? I'm paranoid about everything since my MMC earlier in the year.

summerskittles91 · 25/10/2016 08:20

Hey guys just checking in, not been feeling my greatest and spent the night in hospital because of dehydration but back to work now. Still drained and tired but got to hear babies heartbeat so feeling reassured that all is ok. Hope everyone else is doing well!

MyGreenSofa · 25/10/2016 08:25

Paper - I'm pretty sure it's normal, the baby is still very small and has lots of room to move around so you won't always feel it.

Skittles - sorry to hear you've been in hospital! You should go home and rest!

jpeg28 · 25/10/2016 08:38

Skittles sorry to hear you've been unwell... glad you are better now though. Lots of rest!

Day two of half term today... OH won't let me do any work on the house, all that needs doing is to sand the walls and paint... he won't let me lift a finger!! I feel so useless!

marmitecheesetoast · 25/10/2016 09:00

Thanks Bubbins. Yeah my office chair is totally shit fairly old and useless. Might have to see if I can convince them to get me a new one. They'll probably just try and fob me off with one of those back support mesh things you attach to the chair which I've tried before and found really annoying though.
It hurts right at the top of my bum muscles, especially when I clench them when sitting and when I first stand up, like I've done 100 squats! Maybe its just currently all being aggravated by pelvis shifting too.

Lakes sounds perfect, very wholesome and invigorating! I love how good a brisk walk in the fresh air makes you feel!

Sounds grim skittles take it easy

sounds like a great excuse for a takeaway Jpeg Grin

I was reading my notes last night and noticed I've got an anterior placenta noted on the 12 week scan notes. This is the one where I won't feel movement so soon isn't it?

CarryOn2016 · 25/10/2016 09:15

Hello everyone,
I found this group and thought I'd join.
I am due 20th April, fingers crossed all continues, this is my 1st one.
Has anyone tried any pregnancy yoga or pregnancy exercise classes yet?
Nice to see so many of you

jpeg28 · 25/10/2016 09:54

Welcome Carryon and congrats!! I haven't started any pregnancy exercise yet but I'm thinking of doing yoga.

I'm 15 weeks today and just weighed myself... I've put on 6lb!! Is that too much? It was only 3lb a couple of weeks ago!

MrsRhubarb · 25/10/2016 10:03

Paperandpaint mines anterior, and I have times where I feel stuff and then don't for ages. Baby is getting bigger and bigger all the time so it is going to get easier to feel them. Remember it is still early for movements at all!

Skittles sorry you've been unwell, hope you're feeling better.

Jpeg Perhaps your OH could have words with mine! I'd be quite happy to let him get on with all the diy and not just when I'm pregnant I was plastering two days before I gave birth last time.

jobrum · 25/10/2016 10:37

Jpeg that would annoy me so much! I was painting and moving furniture around (carefully!) at nearly nine months. We love on the middle of a city just off a main road so paint fumes are probably the least harmful things I breathe in! Dh has the balance just right, he never stops me doing anything but takes over if I say I can't.

I had my consultant appointment yesterday and am now low risk which neans I can go to the midwife centre! I'm so, so happy!

Welcome carryon

jobrum · 25/10/2016 10:38

We live in the middle of a city, not love on!

paperandpaint · 25/10/2016 10:42

Thank you Mrs Rhubarb and MyGreenSofa. I've had a very stressful few days with a few different things so hopefully the little person is just having a good sleep in there. 16 weeks with an anterior placenta is quite early for movements even if it is my third baby.....

Carryon - congratulations and hello! I did pregnancy yoga with my first DD1 (a long time ago!!) and I had an amazingly straightforward birth (I was 26 though!) but I didn't do it with DD2 and I had a really difficult and quite frankly terrible time. I'm sure it's not the yoga that made the difference but just in case I'm going to definitely do it again!! I'm also really interested in hypnobirthing. I haven't done it before but I'm determined to try everything I can this time.

Helbelle75 · 25/10/2016 10:44

I'might full of cold today, but feel my energy coming back. Yay!
I'very put on 6lbs too jpeg most of it in the last couple of weeks. My bump is quite substantial now though. I 'm 16 weeks today.
I'very booked on a pregnancy yoga course carryon and start next week.

MonkeyArms · 25/10/2016 11:23

poor skittles. Sounds like you need jpegs husband to come and have a firm word about looking after yourself.

such good news jobrum - you must be chuffed

on weight gain, i have found this website really useful throughout this pregnancy. expectingscience.com/2014/08/09/a-sudden-bump-up-in-weight-in-the-2nd-trimester-is-common-and-no-reason-to-panic/
it goes into the science behind the statisticsand has put my mind at rest about all sorts of things (including flapping because I keep waking up on my back)

jpeg28 · 25/10/2016 11:45

Thanks monkey I just read that and it's reassuring! I'm only worried because my BMI was 26 before getting pregnant which means I should only gain 15-25lb... I should have tried to lose weight before I got pregnant!! Maybe the pancakes I had for brekkie were a bad idea!!

Helbelle75 · 25/10/2016 11:53

I lost a stone before getting pregnant jpeg and I have terrible body image so putting weight back on is scaring me. I need to get over it obviously! I'very had a lot of cake recently so need to cut down on that I think.

abeandhalo · 25/10/2016 12:13

My bump has suddenly got absolutely enormous in the last week or so, I am suprised by it everyday. I am not agonising over weight gain though, I haven't weighed myself once since being pregnant, & it's quite obvious that this bump is baby rather than extra chub.
I was so nauceous for the first 12 weeks that I was just eating what I could stomach. Now I'm mostly feeling better so eating more fruit & veg but I'm eating more carbs & doing less exercise than I was before pregnancy so I guess it's inevitable I'll put on some pounds.
The beginning of that article is really awful, I can't imagine it's the best advice to tell a woman growing a human inside her to only eat half a sandwich? I'd be furious.

marmitecheesetoast · 25/10/2016 12:29

Exactly what I thought abe! Remember my post last week, I had put on almost 10 pounds since getting pregnant Shock haven't weighed myself since...Hmm

Like the article though, I eat healthily and am doing my best to keep up with pilates, swimming and the odd gentle run. So trying no to worry too much about it.

I've found a pregnancy yoga and a pregnancy pilates classes near where I live so think I'm going to start one of them next week as can't really go to my normal pilates class much longer as need to stop doing abs exercises on my back

jpeg28 · 25/10/2016 12:56

I've just had a big asos order of maternity clothes... time to pack up the old wardrobe!

If someone told me to eat half a sandwich I would be very angry!!

Pregnancy yoga and Pilates sounds like a great idea Marmite I'm going to investigate that today!

choccybiscuit · 25/10/2016 13:26

jpeg I wish my dh was like yours! Might even is at the cinema with dd2 while I'm sanding down dd's bedroom. I'm exhausted!

jpeg28 · 25/10/2016 13:35

I feel so useless though choccy! I want to just get on with things! I've been cleaning today and taking lots of tests in between! My OH is actually playing golf all day today and said he would carry on painting tomorrow... I could have got it all done today if he would have let me!!

Mummymulb16 · 25/10/2016 14:29

Has anybody brought a pregnancy coat yet and if so what are your recommendations? I like the parka with adjustable zips from Jojo Maman Bebe, just not seen anything else I like!

Prive120 · 25/10/2016 14:44

mummybulb16 I bought a coat from Seraphine... its down with a detachable fur trim hood and I'm loving it. Really well designed and lovely quality.

Prive120 · 25/10/2016 14:45

Sorry Mummymulb16 not mummybulb16!

avengerhart85 · 25/10/2016 15:18

I feel like a right greedy so & so... I got pregnant on an all inclusive holiday, so I'd put 7lb on from that then a week after getting back got BFP and put another 7lb on Blush I need to step away from the cakes!
