Section I presume, if you labour, Luchi. Have you asked to have a look around NICU? It can be helpful to see it before your baby is there - it's quite an overwhelming place. There's often sometimes someone free to give you a bit of a 'pre-brief' so you are aware of what to expect around delivery and in the early days. They may also give you some bonding squares - ask early - you keep one with you and the other stays with baby - swap them over every now and then, and you'll always smell one another. Good luck.

Hope your little one is stable too Scandi.

Good luck Luchi will be thinking of you. Flowers

finova · 09/01/2017 20:41

In my thoughts too Scandi.
Good luck tomorrow Luchi.

LuchiMangsho · 10/01/2017 04:16

Thanks a lot. Made it through the night so the steroids have had a good chance of working. And yes because of where the placenta is we are definitely having a C section.

jpeg28 · 10/01/2017 06:47

Thinking of you Luchi... glad you made it through the night.

marmitecheesetoast · 10/01/2017 08:13

Glad you made it through the night Luchi Flowers

Puggleface · 10/01/2017 08:56

Hope all goes as well as possible luchi so pleased you were already in the best possible place!
Hoping baby gives you an extra couple of days but sounds like you're both in good hands xxx

LuchiMangsho · 10/01/2017 09:25

New drama. My hospital has no NICU cots available. So before they stop the drip they are almost certainly going to transfer me to another London hospital with a level III NICU. I am hoping it's one of the two where DH used to work as they are both closer to home. That's the next step before they stop the drip and let my body do its thing.
We are mentally and logistically ready for baby to come today!

Hayls17 · 10/01/2017 09:39

Hope all goes well today luchi I will be thinking about you and your little one Flowers

MonkeyArms · 10/01/2017 10:30

So glad you made it through the night luchi xx

ChatEnOeuf · 10/01/2017 10:56

Ooh, I hope there's a NICU cot close to you and you can move quickly. Our cot situation changes so quickly (I started last week's nights with three spare cots and ended up with one too many babies!). Lt us know where you end up (and if you want to come back to the FB group and show a picture, please do) :)

LuchiMangsho · 10/01/2017 12:46

Will do. I am being transferred to Queen Charlotte's in Hammersmith in the next couple of hours. One of the best NICUs around so that gives me confidence.

XxBecxX · 10/01/2017 14:12

Your doing amazing luchi, my sister in law gave birth at 26weeks and the baby was in St. George's London, excellent care.
I'm sure you are in amazing hands xxx

I didn't know Scandi had her baby.

MonkeyArms · 11/01/2017 13:49

Hope the move all went smoothly luchi

petiteange28 · 11/01/2017 15:45

Hope everything is going ok Luchi.

Is it just me that has irrational moments of thinking ' oh my god I have a baby inside me' and 'how the hell am I ever going to get this out'. I'm fine most of the time and then have sudden moments of panic.

RaRa25 · 11/01/2017 18:34

Thinking of you Luchi hope all goes well. Flowers x

ScandiManny · 11/01/2017 19:11

Oh gosh Luchi I hope they can hold things off as long as possible. We were an inutero transfer to a level 3 NICU too. Sounds like the steroids have had a good chance to work so that's great. Have they given you magnesium too? Wishing you all the best, will be thinking of you.

Sorry for not coming back to update sooner, it's been a bit manic here! Thank you for all of the congratulations and well wishes. Things are mostly okay here. We had quite a rough week last week but our little guy has been off the ventilator (3rd time off) since Friday and he's managing feeds of 3.1ml an hour at the moment. Unfortunately my 2 year old has potentially been exposed to chicken pox at nursery and as I'm not immune I'm not allowed into the neonatal unit for the next 14 days. I'm devastated tbh. I know it's what's best for the baby and if he caught it it would be just awful but it's hard Sad Really hard.

Anyway. I never properly introduced him so (and this will be incredibly outing but wth) meet Arlo River. Four weeks old today (29+1 corrected) and currently weighing 995g Smile

Oh Scandi congratulations! He's gorgeous! And I love the name too. It was on my list but DH doesn't like it.
Hope you all continue to do well.
