I have been having loads of really strong Braxton Hicks, I actually text my midwife asking if it was normal are you sure they aren't that? My bump goes solid but harder where baby is laid (2nd DC so everything is a bit more stretched Grin) I drink lots of water while it's happening that seems to help?

abeandhalo · 07/01/2017 12:45

I don't know I haven't noticed my bump going harder, I think I'm in too much pain to think about it but I'll check next time & drink some water!

JennyOfOldstones · 07/01/2017 19:45

Abe I think the sleepyhead has been through loads of tests to make sure it is safe for overnight sleeping maybe to do with the angle of the sides so babies can't suffocate on it. A homemade one would be ok for naps downstairs etc I think. Although I have heard of midwives in hospital rolling up blankets to put around newborns in a similar way so if that is ok...

abeandhalo · 08/01/2017 08:00

Yes that's how I feel about it as well, I'd much rather have the Sleepyhead for his cot, but a second, handmade one will probably be quite useful for the living room!

Also, I felt my bump when I had the pains last night & they're definitely round ligament not Braxton Hicks, bump is still v squidgy while it's happening.

marmitecheesetoast · 08/01/2017 09:18

I've been having quite a few Braxton hicks last week or two as well.
Bump goes really hard but it's not painful. Don't know if it's coincidence but it does seem to happen more when I've eaten loads Hmm i.e. After going round to friends house for a 3 course dinner last night, really need to remember I can't fit as much in my tummy at once anymore!! Smile

I've been having quite a few Braxton hicks over last week or two as well. Bump goes really hard. It's not painful though. Don't know if it's coincidence but have noticed it happening more after I've eaten a lot Hmm I.e. After 3 course dinner at a friend's house last night. Really need to learn I can't fit as much in my tummy at once anymore! Grin

Have heard gentle heat can help round ligament pain abe or maybe a bath?

Is anyone else having problems with thrush? I seem to be on my third bout of it now and getting fed up. Just using the canestan cream I still have from the last time but don't know whether to go to doctor and mention it's becoming a bit of a recurring theme?

cantmakeme · 08/01/2017 10:32

marmitecheesetoast is your partner treating himself as well? My OH took the tablet when I had it.

cantmakeme · 08/01/2017 10:34

I haven't found anything that works for preventing round ligament pain except less movement. Once I have it, I usually can't stop it and have to wait for it to pass.

XxBecxX · 08/01/2017 12:18

Hello ladies, I've been on the 'staying posifrickentive after mc' thread since conceiving this little sausage and have decided to join in with you gals too if that's ok!
I'm 25 weeks and I'm having a little boy, baby number 6 for me!!
Movement has been a bit of an issue for me this time round as I have an anterior placenta which has masked a lot of his antics, so I'm still not feeling him as much as I would say was normal but as he's getting bigger he's substantially improving in strength lol
Having growth scans as I have high umbilical cord pressure which I've been described aspirin for, he apparently is 1lb 12oz already 😍

I'm gonna make the lunch and then try to have a cuppa and catch up on the thread, xxxx

MyGreenSofa · 08/01/2017 13:07

Welcome Bec! Baby number 6, wowzer!

abeandhalo · 08/01/2017 13:32

Welcome!

My round ligament pains only last a couple of mins so by the time I had any heat treatment sorted out, etc, it would be over. It seems to help if I lean over with my bum in the air - very elegant at work!! Confused I have to try & find a quiet corner / go in the loo.

Husband FINALLY managed to feel a kick last night. I've got the wriggliest baby ever it's like having an octopus in there & it's been going on for months but every time I've tried to get his dad to feel it he stops! But we managed to catch him in the act last night.

PinkUnicorn1990 · 08/01/2017 13:56

Hi Bec! Smile

Abe my husband was so excited to feel baby kick this morning too, a proper one as normally it's just a little wriggle as she seems to quieten down as soon as I move his hand to my belly!! Cute to see him so happy and excited Grin

XxBecxX · 08/01/2017 14:33

I suffer terribly with SPD and ligament issues, when ever I'm most uncomfy I get into the doggy pos-sish and try to shift the baby, I find that it's the bubs position sometimes that can make it worse, same thing for sciatica, (ovs the I don't do that when it strikes in public 😂😂)
Strange that my spd had started in the left had side of the back of my pelvis this time round it's usually already in the front pelvis area.

Any of you ladies half way prepared yet?

XxBecxX · 08/01/2017 14:34

Gotta laff at the excited husbands, mine cringes when he feels or sees movements lol

peanut2017 · 08/01/2017 14:52

Hey there - had our parenting class yesterday which was really good! Instructor was very funny and gave some good tips, not preachy about anything and was very honest about the system / hospital in Dublin.

I think I'm getting thrust too - lots of discharge and discomfort but no itch. Might get a swab done to check although I've had loads done before & nothing comes up! Not even BV

Anyone get burning pain just under boobs and bump? I thought this was round ligament pain but think that's meant to be lower down? Assume it's stretching?

Back into the office tomorrow so hopefully SPD doesn't flare up again! It's definitely eased a bit

Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday

peanut2017 · 08/01/2017 14:53

Hi Bec baby number 6! Wowser you must have loads of tips! That's amazing - you must be some woman

marmitecheesetoast · 08/01/2017 16:03

Thanks cantmakeme yes I've got him using the cream too, although wonder if I should get him to take a tablet?

XxBecxX · 08/01/2017 16:04

lol thanks peanut, mental health problems more like lol
A lot of people think I'm mad having so many children, I think I'm overly maternal, I have a baby then start to get broody again when I have to let them go to school lol I'm not one of these romantic types that loves to be pregnant, I hate it lol it's just what you have to do to get your little squidgy lovely in your arms!
Is this your first? Xx

marmitecheesetoast · 08/01/2017 16:04

everdene · 08/01/2017 23:03

Luchi that routines advice is great, I think it will be the key to sanity for me!!

Anyone got any comments on Quinny or Maxicosi pushchairs? I have a Pebble car seat so want a pushchair to work with it.

LuchiMangsho · 09/01/2017 03:32

Waters broke at 10pm. 26+3. Steroids given. Holding off labour for as long as possible but I will deliver later today/next couple of days. As prepared as we can be although there is a long road ahead.

peanut2017 · 09/01/2017 05:54

Thinking of you luchi

peanutbutter310 · 09/01/2017 05:54
