Merry Christmas everyone!!!

That's so lovely marmite!

I'm stuffed!! Think the baby taking up more room is preventing me from over eating as I normally do!!

Hope you all have lovely days x

LuchiMangsho · 25/12/2016 17:38

Sadly I had a small bleed and wasn't allowed home. I have an MRI booked on Thursday so my suspicion is that I am here till then. DS came for a 5 hour visit and we played board games and snuggled and did some colouring together. I have a fabulous set of gifts from DH and feel less depressed than I did this morning when I realised I wasn't going home for Xmas. I am now resigned to staying in till I deliver and I am enormously grateful for the NHS staff looking after us on Christmas Day. I have had a natter and a giggle with them. It's going to be a long haul but I feel lucky to have the care I do for now.

peanut2017 · 25/12/2016 19:50

Merry Christmas lovely ladies! Feet up and chilling out! Back killing me but have a hot water bottle which is lovely! Hope you all had a lovely day & got spoiled!

jpeg28 · 25/12/2016 20:06

Luchi I'm so sorry you didn't manage to get home for xmas. It sounds like your DH made the day great for you! I really hope you manage to come home soon!

I'm exhausted already, it's only 8!

TopKittyKat · 25/12/2016 20:16

Oh Luchi - that sucks! I'm glad you've had a nice day though.

Yes NHS staff are amazing. I've just been to see my Nan (she's in hospital after breaking her hip) and the staff are amazing making sure they have a nice day.

everdene · 26/12/2016 07:54

Sorry to hear you're in hospital Luchi, I had a friend with placenta praevia and she had a similar experience to yours in both pregnancies. Hope the food is ok!

Thank you all for being so sweet about my sister's miscarriage. I'm off to see her today and she is insistent that she is just as excited as ever for me. I think she is putting a brave face on but I do appreciate it. We are very close so I feel sad for her but she is coping brilliantly -- and her two excitable little ones are a good distraction!

peanut2017 · 26/12/2016 20:35

Hi ladies, anyone getting back pain and pressure which practically feels like the baby is about to pop out (sorry for being crude)? Literally can hurt to walk at the moment. Any tips?

ChatEnOeuf · 26/12/2016 22:26

Sorry to hear you were stuck in for Christmas, Luchi. At least you were able to have family in to visit for a long stretch. Are they giving you some steroids now you're over 24w?

I'm back home, it's so quiet! Left DH and DD with family, as I'm working long days tomorrow and Weds. Nice to have the bed to myself too. I've got the Kicks Count app - very useful, but it doesn't show pattern over the day (except on the current day).

Merry Christmas, hope you all had a lovely time :)

choccybiscuit · 27/12/2016 09:21

peanut i'm definately getting much more pain in my back now, I have to have a pillow when sitting lying down all the time now or my back feels like it going to break. Baby is making very pronounced movement, sticking right out on one side, which feels weird. Also was head down in the night and woke up to kicks under my rib. Loving everytime it moves though :)

peanut2017 · 27/12/2016 11:02

Thanks Choccy glad to know it's not me. I'm like an old women walking around. Staying in the in laws and just want to be at home in my own house. Loving all the kicks and movements too, it's just amazing!

Getting a bit overwhelmed with what we should buy as haven't bought anything. It's our first after two losses so was afraid to get anything too early. Also I have about 2 or 3 lists going at the moment which doesn't help!

purpleviolet1 · 27/12/2016 12:07

Hi peanut, my first also after two losses. I'm 26+ weeks now and decided to make the most of the sales so have ordered the furniture and pram but won't take delivery until early march. Going to start getting a hospital bag ready. It makes me feel anxious to be shopping but I'm trying to enjoy it and also thinking practicality wise as I'm already getting quite tired at times. Don't want to be stressed later on!

Celticlassie · 27/12/2016 13:09

Anyone else finding it difficult not sleeping on their back? I fall asleep on my side but almost always wake up on my back. It's causing me no discomfort at the mo but am a little concerned it may not be good for the baby. (Am 23+3)

jpeg28 · 27/12/2016 13:14

celtic I do this every night!! I asked my MW and she said it's ok, she said I'm probably waking myself up by being on my back.

LuchiMangsho · 27/12/2016 13:46

Just had an astonishing conversation with the doctors. Apparently even if I don't bleed again I might be in for 10 weeks. 10 WEEKS?! That is going to be v hard on DS and me. Trying to wrap my head around that possibility.

purpleviolet1 · 27/12/2016 13:53

So sorry to hear that luchi Sad how far along are you? Are they doing constant monitoring? If not could you suggest that you'll pop in frequently?

peanut2017 · 27/12/2016 14:55

Hi purple think you are right going to bite the bullet tomorrow and head to a few places. Think I have done too much research which can cause more confusion!

Anyone buy one of the pillows like the dream genie?

peanut2017 · 27/12/2016 14:56

Luchi thats a pain in the ass! You poor thing! You have other kids too if I remember correctly. Hope you have good support around you

purpleviolet1 · 27/12/2016 17:25

peanut I have the dream geni. Best thing ever! It's not a miracle cure ofcourse but defo a big help

LuchiMangsho · 27/12/2016 19:14

25 weeks. So if they want to deliver at 34/35, this is a long admission.
It's not about monitoring. It's about the danger of sudden haemorrhagic bleeds and needing to be near the hospital at all times.
We have prepped DS and also for stuff at home sorted for the most part. I am going to ask them for a weekend at home so I can go home and pack a proper suitcase. That way if during the week, there are a couple of days when I don't have visitors it is fine.

purpleviolet1 · 27/12/2016 19:55

Sorry to hear that luchi. Sending lots of love and strength your way. X

LuchiMangsho · 27/12/2016 20:39

It's fine. I can't really complain about the care I have had- they have been awesome. Yes it sucks but I am not ill. Suggestions for books/things to watch would be appreciated! And things I can do in hospital. So far I have colouring books and embroidery.

ChatEnOeuf · 27/12/2016 21:33

What kind of books do you like? I'm reading the sequel to Me Before You (think it's called After you or something), which is pretty good.
If you're a stitcher, look at LoveQuilts UK - they make cross-stitched squares into quilts for kids with serious medical issues. Or you could design and stitch a birth sampler for your little one.
Knit - blankets, hats, cardis...
Master the Times crossword...?!

choccybiscuit · 27/12/2016 21:43

Peanut I also second the dream geni pillow. I sleep alot better since having it.
luchi so sorry your missing your little boy, it must be hard for you. Knitting is a good way to relax and pass the time. I've never really been into it but found it a great stress reliever. I just you tubed videos to learn and knitted a scarf, not perfect but a good attempt. If you use big needles and thick wool you'll knit a blanket in no time.

peanut2017 · 27/12/2016 22:53

Great purple will look at getting a dreamgenii tomorrow

peanut2017 · 27/12/2016 22:58

Luchi would you listen to podcasts? Have a few I could recommend some such as this American life, serial, undisclosed, accused! General theme is murder, unsolved cases etc. Sometimes nice alternative to books / films
