Oh that's really sad for your sister Everdene all you can to is be there for her however she needs you to.
I know it's not the same thing but my SiL has just found out her latest round of ivf has failed again and I also feel bad about being pregnant and having my bump around her.

Slightly random tmi question but is anyone else having a dodgy stomach?! It's only once or sometimes twice a day so I don't think I've got a bug or anything but every time I go for the last week and a half I've had diarrhea... so much for pregnancy causing constipation?! Hmm

Theknittinggorilla · 21/12/2016 11:51

So sorry for your sister everdene.

marmite. I've had that on and off through the whole pregnancy, spoke to my midwife at my 16 week appt and she didn't seem concerned. It's very annoying though!

Anyone else itchy? I have itchy boobs and they are driving me mad!

On a positive note however I finish work today (in fact hopefully now) until the new year Grin and only have 10 days to work in January before starting Mat leave, whoop!

MyGreenSofa · 21/12/2016 12:20

That's sad news for your sister everdene.
*
Marmite -* I was very much like that in my last pregnancy! It was annoying, and was pretty much the same til DD was born. This time I have much the opposite problem!

marmitecheesetoast · 21/12/2016 12:28

Thanks Gorilla and Green that's reassuring - it's just all you ever seem to hear mentioned is constipation!

Hurrah for finishing work Gorilla I'm very jealous! Full of the cold and knackered, here til the bitter end on Friday

purpleviolet1 · 21/12/2016 12:34

Sorry everdene to hear about your sister. It is very tough.

Gorilla how many weeks are you finishing up at??

Theknittinggorilla · 21/12/2016 18:41

29 weeks Blush

Because of the way my holiday year works I'd have to go back next April even if I worked for longer so I thought I would take the extra time. Plus I have two children already and really suffered last time with my back and ligament pain in the third trimester. So am planning to sort my house out, spend lots of time with my boys, and rest!

choccybiscuit · 21/12/2016 20:01

So sorry to hear what happened to your sister, it must be very difficult for both of you.Flowers
Just sitting here watching my bump wobbling all over the place. Baby is very active now.
I'm so desperate for Friday to come! It's a normal working week but kinda feels like it shouldn't be. Done all my wrapping last night so didn't get much sleep, but at least it's all done now. Grin

everdene · 22/12/2016 07:05

Thanks all - I spoke to my DSis last night and she is sad but said she still definitely wants to hear about my baby and get progress updates. She is so kind as it can't be easy.

I have been so deliriously happy since I've been pg that I hadn't fully thought about the fact not all pregnancies go well, it's made me feel a bit worried about birth and delivery.

marmitecheesetoast · 22/12/2016 20:52

Glad to hear you had a good chat with your DSis everdene understandable that it makes you feel more anxious now too, try not to worry Flowers

I'm just sat with my top rolled up as was curious to see whether it was true I would be able to see kicks and movement at this point, and I can see every kick! It's mental!! I really didn't think I'd be able to see anything yet! Xmas Shock Its bizarre/amazing! I know it sounds ridiculous given I can feel kicks everyday but for the first time it actually properly seems like there is an actual little person in there!! Xmas Grin

Superbabywright · 22/12/2016 22:03

scandi Congratulations!! Please keep us updated on your little fighter.

everdene Sorry to hear about your DAIL.

gorilla Yes!! Itchy boobs right here. Driving me mad. Must be them growing.

marmitecheesetoast · 23/12/2016 14:35

I am 24 weeks today - so officially 'viable' as of today!! Xmas Grin
I had my first community MW appointment this morning which was exciting, I got to hear the heartbeat and she reminded me to take a recording of it on my phone! I'm really pleased as I feel I missed out on that from the 16 week appt! And now I can keep listening to it! Xmas Grin

She was a really nice MW and it was much less rushed/impersonal than at the hospital. She also said there's only her and one other MW at that antenatal clinic so I'll see one or the other of them now going forward for the rest of my appointments which has made me feel lots better after seeing a different very rushed person every other time so far.

Last day in work today before the festive break and I'm not being particularly productive...! Have spent a large chunk of the day so far booking in all the rest of my leave to have shorter weeks and figuring out when I'm going to finish work! I think it's going to come round very quickly after Christmas now eeeeeek! I've gone for finishing at 37 weeks, then I have a week of leave with mat leave starting from 38 weeks. Hopefully that will all work out ok.

Hope everyone else is doing well especially baby Scandi and is excited for Christmas! Xmas Grin

purpleviolet1 · 23/12/2016 16:20

Congrats marmite Smile I'm 26 weeks today and feelin a bit anxious. I think I'm overtired though and stressed and just really need to relax. Everything is getting on my nerves Sad

marmitecheesetoast · 23/12/2016 16:36

Sorry to hear you're feeling anxious Purple I know where you're coming from I've had a ridiculously manic few weeks with work and it does make everything feel a bit overwhelming. Just finishing work now though til the 3rd so looking forward to a decent rest. Have you got much time off over Christmas? Hopefully you can have a good relax and you'll feel better? Xmas Smile CakeBrew

jpeg28 · 23/12/2016 16:47

Yay congrats on getting to 24 weeks marmite! I'm only 3 days behind you Smile I can't wait to hear the heartbeat, I am seeing the MW on 4th January!

purple I hope the xmas break is relaxing for you. It seems impossible doesn't it to not be anxious about something in pregnancy!

I've just been to London for the day to see a friend who is moving to Australia. Im exhausted now and the huge delay on trains do not help! I'm also desperate for a wee but blocked in my seat!!

Helbelle75 · 23/12/2016 17:29

24+3 here and it feels quite a relief. Still worrying when baby's quiet though... I've bought a kick counter wristband. It's great!
Just had whooping cough vaccine so looking forward to an achy arm soon.
Hope everyone has a very relaxing Christmas.

peanut2017 · 23/12/2016 17:49

Sorry to hear that Everdene the poor girl. Have been through it twice and having 3 women in work pregnant was tough so can only imagine how she is feeling but she will be so happy for you at the same time.

We were doing the same last night - could see the kicks coming through my belly! Amazing

LuchiMangsho · 23/12/2016 18:19

I am back in hospital after a small bleed. 24 weeks here as well. I have a personal goal of 28 weeks before I can breathe an internal sigh of relief. I have been told to expect lots of small and big bleeds and admissions. So it's a question of mentally coping with the reality of that. Otherwise I am okay and DS5 can come and spend all day with me if he wants to (although he does get bored).

peanut2017 · 23/12/2016 19:06

Oh Luchi that is tough. How long will you be in for? Is there a particular reason why they think it's happening? Hope you are ok

LuchiMangsho · 23/12/2016 21:32

Hopefully till tomorrow or Monday. It's the nature of the beast with Complete Placenta Previa. Some bleed. Some don't. You always panic when you see blood. It's not a nice feeling. The consultants and midwives are a lot more blasé about it because they have seen this. And you can't really predict the outcome. You have to chill out and go along with it. The problem is that this runs entirely counter to my personality so is easier said than done!

peanut2017 · 23/12/2016 22:22

That's tough & I would be freaked out too! Hope you are bearing up ok

RaRa25 · 24/12/2016 07:34

luchi sorry to hear that. Hope you are out soon Flowers xx

choccybiscuit · 24/12/2016 18:26

I'm sorry to hear that LuchiSad. I hope your out soon. You must be in tenterhooks alot if the time.
I've been cleaning and getting last minute bits all day. I'm shattered now. I had my first experience of leg cramp up the whole of my right leg this morning. Everytime I stood on it, it started again, it was so painful!
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

TopKittyKat · 25/12/2016 10:07

Merry Christmas April ladies!

Luchi - I hope you were allowed home yesterday.

I hope everyone has a great day.

marmitecheesetoast · 25/12/2016 11:16

Merry Christmas all!

Hope you've been allowed home Luchi
