20 week scan today and we put the cot up last night! Suddenly all feels very real. We already know it's a boy but will be asking them to double check today just incase!

I'm feeling some movement, nothing huge, just some wiggles, DS is really excited to feel his wee brother move, he keeps talking to him and cuddling the bump, he's such a cutie.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 14/11/2016 09:48

marmite - yes popcorn popping sounds like movement to me!

I am glad I am not the only one still feeling rubbish (well I'm not glad you're still feeling rubbish, but it's nice to have people to share the misery with!). Nausea still hanging around every day, still being sick a few times a week, and just utterly shattered. Have no motivation and feeling very fed up!

Helbelle75 · 14/11/2016 11:22

It's exciting times at the moment!
My scan isn't until 21 weeks, two weeks tomorrow. So impatient for it - it's been such a long time since the 12 week one.
I'm feeling some movement and fluttering, mainly lower left, but sometimes further up. I'm assuming everything's ok, but feel a bit in limbo.
My boobs are still really sore - they've been constantly sore - and I'm struggling sleeping. Ok getting to sleep but wake up about 5am and then can't get back. Finding work a real struggle at the moment.
Motivation is back a bit though and getting some things done in the house. I really want to start on the nursery but we've said we'll wait until after the scan.
Hope everyone has a great week.

20 week scan today and thankfully all was good. DH and I were still debating whether to find out the sex on the way to hospital but decided not to in the end. Felt the first external kick last night and amazingly the baby kept it go I so DH could feel too. magical!

MyGreenSofa · 14/11/2016 15:30

So team yellow then monkey! Congrats!

Strubo · 14/11/2016 15:52

20 week scan went well, definitely team blue and everything was as it should be. Bought some little babygros in nice bright colours on my way home. H isn't feeing excited still but he says he will, he's just busy and it's not new this time and he feels a bit detached from it, I'm sure he will, he was fab as soon as the other 2 arrived!

jpeg28 · 14/11/2016 15:58

So excited for everyone having scans!! I'm still unsure whether to find out sex. My scan is 2 weeks today. I think my OH will feel more connected to the baby if we find out, am I being selfish if I insist we don't find out?? I just can't even decide what I want to do!!

marmitecheesetoast · 14/11/2016 17:01

Thanks Bubbins hopefully it was movement I could feel then! Though not felt anything else as definite yet since last night.

I am the same Jpeg neither of us can decide for definite whether to find out or not! We both like the idea of keeping it a surprise but also both feel like it would help feel more connected if we knew if we were having a boy or girl! What does your OH say about it?

Scan is next Wednesday at 19+5 , can't believe how fast it's come round!

In other news I've randomly got really sore lower ribs it feels like, anyone else?! Making me not want to go to yoga tonight although I know it'll probably be a good thing to go especially in that case!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 14/11/2016 17:07

marmite I had really bad rib pain in my last pregnancy - it started up the other week and I thought 'oh here we go...' as I got no respite from it last time once it started but I went to a couple of yoga sessions and it's pretty much gone (for now at least). So I definitely recommend toughing it out and getting yourself to the class.

jpeg28 · 14/11/2016 17:40

Marmite my OH is desperate to find out!! I've always said no but now I'm starting to change my mind. I've been quite worried these last couple of weeks because I haven't felt any movement and I'm thinking that knowing the sex will make it feel real that I'm actually having a baby!

marmitecheesetoast · 14/11/2016 18:08

I know what you mean Jpeg still feels like a very abstract concept to me too this 'baby'! I hadn't felt any movement yet either until last night, although still not 100% convinced it was movement and not felt anything more today yet. I didn't get to hear heartbeat at 16 weeks either Hmm I think whatever you and OH decide will be lovely and exciting Smile maybe it's one of those things you won't decide for definite til you're there?

That's good to know Bubbins I will definitely go! Just had such an awful day at work and feeling so sore and tender a skiving off night on the sofa seems very tempting!

CajunKitty · 15/11/2016 07:20

I don't know whether the hospital would do this for all the couples that can't decide on finding out the sex but, you could always take an envelope and ask them to seal the answer inside? Then if you change your minds at a later date you have it at home to look at.

marmitecheesetoast · 15/11/2016 08:17

Ooooh that sounds like un-resistable temptation Cajun! Think I'd be just checking on that envelope every day... and opening it within a week 😂

Welshy11 · 15/11/2016 10:08

Hey ladies just catching up with the thread it moves so quickly. Had 16 week apt last week and heard the hb was gutted because DH wasn't there, so the midwife put me back on the bed and did it again so I could record it. Think have felt movements but it could just be wind!

Has anyone joined any pregnancy classes yet? I've signed up for nct later along but just joined one called mellow mummy's which is a weekly class about relaxation and improving sleep etc. Good luck for all the 20week scans x

Helbelle75 · 15/11/2016 12:10

Very envious of those with scans already!
I've joined a pregnancy yoga class Welshy, which focuses a lot on breathing and relaxation. Nice to be surrounded by lots of bumps too. My ballet class feels like a pregnancy class as well as there are 3 of us there who are pregnant!
I've been having a few pains around the bottom of my bump the past couple of days. It's almost a stabbing pain. Can still feel fluttering, which I assume is baby, and can't wait to see what's going on in there!

marmitecheesetoast · 16/11/2016 08:13

Morning all, hope everyone had a decent nights sleep...! I ended up getting up an hour before my alarm as DH was snoring Hmm means I've had a productive morning so far at least!

Quick question is anyone using a pelvic floor exercise app on their phone? I'm worried I'm not doing enough. Just had a quick look on App Store and so many, just wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

I've also joined a pregnancy yoga class which has lots of lovely stretches and breathing and a relaxation at the end. We also have a chat halfway through in a circle and talk about what week we are and how we've been that week, which is a lovely way of getting to know people a bit. I always sleep really well that evening after the end of class relaxation!

summerskittles91 · 16/11/2016 08:27

Hey everyone! Scan went well yesterday, all ok with baby and we found out we're having a girl! Think me and DH are keeping it a secret between us though.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

marmitecheesetoast DH and his snoring has always been annoying, but it's 100x worse when I cant sleep. agh!

TopKittyKat · 16/11/2016 08:46

Hi all,
Wow, the scans are coming in thick and fast. Exciting! I've got another week and a half to wait.

marmite - I didn't know you were meant to do pelvic floor exercises while pregnant so I'm pretty sure I'm not doing enough! Confused

Welshy that's lovely that you were able to record the heartbeat for your DH.

I've started getting headaches the past few days, which is really annoying. They feel like tension headaches. I've also had another weird symptom that eating fruit hurts my tongue! Weird! Anyway else?

summerskittles91 · 16/11/2016 09:29

TopKittyKat Definitely know how you feel with the headaches, I admit stress and not enough water makes them horrendous. but weirdly if I wash my hair that also helps?

Eating fruit didn't hurt my tongue, but it tasted so horrible Id end up chucking it back out. Only recently been able to start eating it again but its not as enjoyable as it used it to be.

ChatEnOeuf · 16/11/2016 09:31

Great news all is looking good at scan, skittles :)

Marmite I use the Kegels app - does a job for me. I got out of the habit of doing them while making a cup of tea, which was my previous aide memoire. That ensured I'd do them at least 4 or 5 times a day! I miss tea.

TopKitty I can't eat S&V crisps anymore, they make my tongue and lips feel funny. Pregnancy is weird. I get headaches when I'm dehydrated, could be that?

petiteange28 · 16/11/2016 09:52

Hope everyone is getting on ok. I'm seriously struggling with vivid dreams and lack of sleep. AND the crazy hormones. Cried three times yesterday, once at work, which I NEVER do. Rather mortifying.

Thanks for the app suggestion and great idea to remind you to do pelvic exercises.

Good luck for the 20 week scans those that have them coming up.

MyGreenSofa · 16/11/2016 16:56

I only remember pelvic floor exercises when someone mentions it, so keep discussing ladies!

Ugh the dreams! Yes sleep quality is not good at the mo!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 16/11/2016 17:17

I don't do anywhere near enough pelvic floor exercises! Must make an effort. I survived the first pregnancy fairly well but if I sneeze with a full bladder... Blush

I am suddenly absolutely huge! Three weeks ago friends put some pictures of me on Facebook wearing a tight top and you'd have to be really eagle-eyed to notice there was the start of a bump (no-one said anything about the pictures). Suddenly it like I'm trying to hide a bowling ball up my jumper!

Superbabywright · 16/11/2016 20:06

Bubbinsmakesthree, me too. I've only started to show the past couple of weeks. Although people are surprised when I say how far along I am. I was the opposite with DD and I felt huge from the beginning.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 16/11/2016 20:21

The bonus is I'm getting offered seats on the train quite regularly now. Last pregnancy I was much my 'ooh no I'm fine standing' - this time i'm grabbing every seat offered!
