Thanks Jenny - I might have to ring up and ask for one. My boss wants it so he can start the recruitment process to get cover in. He wants a month overlap and it seems to take forever to recruit!

JennyOfOldstones · 01/11/2016 15:57

Matb1 update: I can't get it until after 20 weeks. If there isn't someone at my scan who can do it I have to make a whole separate appointment because I'm not seen again until 28 weeks and work need it by 25 weeks.

Strubo · 01/11/2016 17:30

I saw my consultant today and she agreed to an elective section this time due to my previous hip surgery. She was great, I was expecting to have to argue my case but she agreed that there is no indication that I'd have problems with a section but there is a possibility of problems with a natural delivery so it makes sense.

She says it will be done at about 39 weeks and I'll get a date at around 34 weeks, so I will be a March date!

Hi all,
Sorry I've been MIA the past few days. I've been suffering terribly with my anxiety and it makes me revert back into myself and back away from things! I was so worried about my 16 week midwife appointment incase she couldn't find a heartbeat!
Good news is all is well and we got a heartbeat straight away and baby started kicking the Doppler. Now the anxiety will ease for a few days until I start the countdown to my 20 week scan and think everything will go wrong then!
everdene I've also had a LLETZ and my waters did break early at 35+6 last time. If it wasn't for the complication of the VP he would have been fine and was a nice and healthy 6lb 4oz at that gestation. I'm taking Cyclogest pesseries this time around to help strengthen my cervix.
Oh is anyone else Rh negative? I had bloods done today to be sent off to see what blood type the baby is! I'll only need anti D if baby is +! Fingers crossed baby is - too as that Jab bloody kills!

Mummymulb16 · 01/11/2016 18:13

Any recommendations for bras? I'm huge so need a lot of support and comfort !

RaRa25 · 01/11/2016 18:20

puggle I am Rh negative but not had the option of blood test of baby. How do they do that anyway? MW said the only way to avoid jab was to find out if DH has the same as me, which would be unlikely. The jab bloody does kill!

jpeg28 · 01/11/2016 18:43

That's exciting hellebelle about a kick!! I know what you mean about teaching, it's non stop and no matter what's going on in your own life you have to be at the top of your game. I'm trying really hard to sit down as much as possible, very hard in lessons but I sort of drag a chair next to students even if it's for 30 seconds while I'm helping them! I think it's helping!

Abe sorry to hear about your work situation. Sounds very stressful, I hope it gets resolved so you don't get stressed in the next few months.

kitty I had my form but they said not to hand it back in until after my 20 week scan, maybe you'll get yours in a week or so?

puggle so glad your scan went well!

I'm 16 weeks today but next MW isn't for a week, I'll be 17+1... hope they will hear the heartbeat!

BinglyBinglyBeep · 01/11/2016 18:56

Kitty I asked about my MATB1 at midwife appointment yesterday and she said she couldn't give it to me until 20 weeks, she described it as a viable pregnancy. Getting it at 22 week appt. Lack of form has not stopped me contacting HR to plan leave!

Cat I've never had flu or the jab before now but everything I've read recommends it, and says since it is inactive, being ill after must be coincidence. I need another measles jab but because that is active I can't have it until after baby arrives. I had flu jab last week and am totally fine, though my arm ached!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 01/11/2016 19:09

Sorry to hear about those of you with issues at work, it is not what any of us need right now!

The back pain I suffered with in the 3rd trimester last time has started already. WTF, I've not even shaken the morning sickness yet! Definitely no more babies for me after this one, I am very fed up of pregnancy already!

ACatandaKitten · 01/11/2016 19:36

Puggleface and RaRa25 I'm also Rhesus D Neg. The needle may not be great but I think it's straightforward, my notes say that we get offered the test from 16 weeks onwards, when they can detect the small amount of the baby's DNA which is present is your blood (freaky thought!), they then do further tests later (week 28 I think) to see if there are antibodies present, in which case they will give you anti-D injection.

Bra-shopping sounds good. Mine have not showed any sign of growing which is mighty disappointing given I've spent my life being a AA! Can any experienced smaller-busted mums tells me when they will finally wake up and get to business? Or if they haven't grown by 16 weeks does that mean they'll stay small and pop at the last minute when they're needed?!

Thanks all for flu jab advice. Will book that pronto.

Puggleface · 01/11/2016 19:39

RaRa it's a new test my trust are offering. Didn't get it last time with DS and that was only last year! DP had to have a blood test too. He's A+ so had to have the jab! They send off they blood to a facility in Bristol where they do a lot of Harmony and Genetic testing. Apparently they extract th me baby's DNA from mine and tell you it's blood type! Modern medicine hey?

jpeg28 · 01/11/2016 20:07

I wish my boobs would stop growing! I was a 34F before I got pregnant! They are humongous and horrible... I've started to get dry nipples too.. hoping moisturiser will work for now!

abeandhalo · 01/11/2016 21:21

I already have steroid cream for my pregnancy eczema on my back so when needed I apply to painfully itchy boobs! Only v rarely though as it can't be good for them.

RaRa25 · 01/11/2016 21:41

Wow that is interesting pughle and Acat! I definitely haven't been offered the test. I guess I will just have to suck it up. DD must have been a negative as well as I didn't have to have another injection after the birth at least.

choccybiscuit · 01/11/2016 21:58

acatandkittenmy boobs are also small 32a. I had no problems breastfeeding. They were still small when I first had her but as soon as the milk came in they ballooned!

cantmakeme · 01/11/2016 22:14

mummymulb I can't help with larger bras (being pretty small personally) but for the cracked itchy nipples have you tried Lansinoh?

sarahhh1984 · 02/11/2016 07:03

mummymulb, I was a 30F before I got pregnant and have shot up to a very achey 32GG. I went to Bravissimo for a fitting and got a couple of non-wired bras by Panache. They're very comfy and very supportive (especially considering the lack of underwire!). If you have a Bravissimo near you I'd recommend them for larger sizes and the fitters seem to know what they're talking about. Will be going back there for nursing bras when I'm further along!

Celen · 02/11/2016 07:05

Bloody bloody Ovia app has completely reset itself Angry Why oh why would it do that?! Got no idea what my pre-preg weight was - because I'd already I inputted it once and didn't think to write it down somewhere Angry

Grrrrrr

I'm RH negative too and had no idea the jab hurts D: I was told I'd need one at 28 weeks and then as soon as baby is born they'll check the blood and then I may need another jab.

Is it really really painful?

jobrum · 02/11/2016 10:48

summer the nurse who did my second lot of bloods said she'd rather have blood taken than the anti-d - I had that coming up next Shock! But it wasn't that bad. Had ut in my thigh, hurt more than the flu jab but not really afterwards. I didn't even notice the one after the birth. I know I had it but couldn't have cared less what they stuck in me.

Sevond Bravissimo. They fitted me fir wited bras last pg and were great.

My migraines are still terrible, not much concentration in the evening to read through the threads. Am seeing a nuerologist on friday so hoping they can help me sort them. Will sit down a bit with a nice drink and catch up on everything.

jobrum · 02/11/2016 10:56

The midwife I saw at my 16 week scan was standing in for my normal one and didn't say anything about the heartbeat so I asked. She said they are not routinely done at 16 weeks now but said she could have a quick check, found it as soon as the doopler went on! Love hearing the heartbeat more than seeing the scans.

Celen · 02/11/2016 15:50

MummyMulb for bras, I love the Bravado bras. So comfy and allow for growing globes Grin Also can be used as nursing bras after.

RaRa25 · 02/11/2016 17:02

summer I'm not going to lie, the jab was very painful. It's the fact that the liquid they put in is really thick so you can feel it, it is really weird and my arm hurt like hell after it. But compared to a c-section or I imagine a natural birth, it's nothing!

Celen · 02/11/2016 17:26

Anyone guessing the sex of their baby based on their emotions?! Think I'm carrying girl as I'm extremely ready and moody - I was never like this carrying ds Hmm

MyGreenSofa · 02/11/2016 17:39

You might be on to something Celen - I was an emotional wreck last time with DD, this time not really at all. Gender scan on Saturday so we shall see if your theory makes sense!
