AnnaKateNZ · 30/10/2016 22:09

Thanks for the guess avenger! I can't wait to see if you are right!

cantmakeme · 30/10/2016 22:51

Choccy, I have a weird driving test tip. I focused on something about the examiner that made her very human and less frightening. She had hairy legs. I have no idea why this made me relax, but it did! So, see if you can find something and then just relax, you can only try your hardest and hope for the best. Good luck!

jpeg28 · 31/10/2016 07:19

Good luck today Choccy!

First day back at work after half term is already rubbish! Might start counting down the school days left until maternity leave!!

choccybiscuit · 31/10/2016 08:17

Thank you all ladies! I will be looking out for any human traits in the examiner can'tmakeme and I'm also going to stick my bump out as far as I can and hope they won't make me do the emergency stop! I had a terrible night sleep and woke with a headache. I'll update you all later Grin

Helbelle75 · 31/10/2016 12:45

I'm really struggling at work jpeg. I had a bit of a breakdown last term at the end of term as I was so tired and ill. I have a risk assessment review on Wednesday and it's going to be fairly awkward I think. They already think I'm overly emotional after my mmc earlier in the year.
Not enjoying work at all, very stressed about it and don't want to be.

choccybiscuit · 31/10/2016 13:35

I passed!!!! Tbh I'm still in shock! I had a really nice instuctor and I felt really relaxed with him. Passed with 4 minors. Thanks for the tips ladies Grin
helbellei'm sorry to hear your having a bad time at work. Any chance you could speak with your gp about stress at work? Maybe sign you off for a little? Take care of yourself.

Helbelle75 · 31/10/2016 14:38

Congratulations Choccy, that's fantastic news.
I'll see how I feel after this risk assessment and see if they can come up with solutions. To be honest, it's nothing really to do with being pregnant - there were a lot issues last year which haven't yet been resolved.

jpeg28 · 31/10/2016 15:06

Congrats choccy!!! Now you need to celebrate!

hellebelle that sounds awful to feel so stressed at work. I'm having such a hard time with some classes, I think being pregnant I just don't have the energy and it's getting out of hand with my form! I'm going to tell them in pregnant soon and start saying that their constant chatting will affect the baby! Ha ha.
Hopefully at your risk assessment you can spell out exactly what the issues are and I hope some of them can be resolved for you.

choccybiscuit · 31/10/2016 16:53

Thanks ladies......I hope you both start to feel better about your jobs, teaching must be so stressful.

crumblequeen · 31/10/2016 17:02

Can someone please add me to the facebook group too? [email protected]

Been feeling pretty awful for a week-had the flu jab then two days of aching and shivering, I don't know if it's connected or not. Can't eat much at the moment either.

Congratulations on driving test!

MyGreenSofa · 31/10/2016 17:54

Congrats on driving test choccy!

Had my 16 week appointment today. The midwife said the heartbeat was fine but I feel like she only did it very briefly and I didn't really hear it, so not massively reassured. It's because I had DD with me who was trying to climb on the bed with me so we were both distracted.

But I'm sure if she heard it and said it was fine then it was? I think I've felt some movement now and have used my Doppler but as it doesn't have a screen to show the heart rate I always worry about mistaking my own for the baby's.

Think I'll book a private scan for the weekend if I can to hopefully ease my worry a bit! (And be treated less like I'm on a conveyer belt...)

TopKittyKat · 31/10/2016 18:59

Congrats choccy Defo time to celebrate!

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling at work. That's no fun! I hope it gets easier for you

MyGreenSofa - I struggled to hear the heartbeat at my 16 week check too. There was a lot of other noise and it was difficult to work out what was what. I too was assured all was fine.

ACatandaKitten · 31/10/2016 19:25

Congratulations choccybiscuit ! That's amazing news. Good luck with driving now out and about on your own, wishing you lots of confidence, take it one street at a time!
Crumble queen hope you're feeling better. I was advised to have the flu jab but I'm a bit nervous as anyone (pregnant or not) seems to feel ill afterwards! Has anyone else had one?
Best wishes to fellow teachers. It's a tough one as we're on our feet all day, a bit like being a TV presenter who has to smile and talk and engage all the time! Quite hard educating and entertaining other peoples' children when all you want to think about is your own little life growing inside you! Hellebore I hope you have a productive and honest conversation at work re risks, remember that it's their duty to support you. Also well worth looking at TES website forums, or advice from union websites.
Anyone else tried out Daisy Foundation for active classes/ maternity yoga? Need to get started on something yoga-ish and they seem well organised and affordable.
Thanks to rest of you for clothes advice too, been hitting up eBay this weekend!

Theknittinggorilla · 31/10/2016 19:45

Congrats choccy! And sympathies to all those struggling at work, it's so hard when you are feeling rubbish and exhausted. Can imagine even worse when you are a teacher or hcp.

Anyone else still feeling rubbish? My sickness has definitely improved in that it's only really first thing, and then from late afternoon onwards but getting fed up now. Think it's going to be seamlessly replaced by reflux and back pain if it follows the pattern of last time. And to top off my week, youngest has Chicken pox, with eldest likely to follow. Sigh.

Sorry that was a big moan!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 31/10/2016 21:00

Congratulations choccy!

knitting - I am pretty much the same, still vomiting first thing most days and then tend to feel worse towards the end of the day. Toddler DS has started copying me and pretends to retch into the toilet bowl!

choccybiscuit · 31/10/2016 21:20

Thank you ladies!

cantmakeme · 31/10/2016 22:04

Well done Choccy! Will be great for you to be able to drive your little one about!

I also had my 16 week appointment today mygreensofa and it's all very rushed. My MW was great, I think that they aren't given enough time. Anyway, heard the heartbeat and got Gaviscon prescription, yay!

Is anyone else having the 28 week diabetes check? Thing is, it's my second pregnancy, so that's my next appointment. But the MW said that it won't be her doing it, and that they will just do the bloods and nothing else... so essentially, because I'm having the diabetes appointment, I don't get to have any other parts of the check up! I will go from weeks 16 to 31 with no appointments at all. Seems a bit odd, but I guess they know what they're doing...

Helbelle75 · 31/10/2016 22:11

I didn't have any side effects from the flu jab, maybe I was lucky?
I had my 16 week mw appointment and they didn't listen to the heartbeat. I wonder why? Has everyone else had that?
Thanks for the support job wise. Not sure what to do as I feel like i'm whingeing, but I am struggling. There is a very real expectation in teaching that you are on top of everything and completley infallible , but workload is constantly added to and nothing take away so it really is becoming impossible. I've been back to dancing tonight though, as I feel I need to start doing some exercise again, so that was a good de-stresser and I start pregnancy yoga next week so hopefully that will help.
I'm sure I felt a little kick tonight as well when I had my hand resting on my tummy! Very exciting!

everdene · 31/10/2016 22:28

Had my cervix measured today and luckily all is well! It was lovely to see the baby again too! I'm now 17+1 and I saw its little feet!

So relieved everything seems OK.

Is anyone else feeling a bit funny taking time off for appointments?

abeandhalo · 01/11/2016 06:55

Solidarity with the others feeling at the end of their tether at work! I've been off w/ stress since Wednesday, going back this morning as my manager asked me to give her a chance to sort out the problem - even though I know she won't be able to - and this morning I feel sick with nerves about going back. If I wasn't pregnant I would have handed in my notice already but I need my maternity pay! Just not sure what I'm going to do for the next 4 months.

TopKittyKat · 01/11/2016 06:56

Acatandakitten - I've had the flu jab and I was fine. No illness at all. For the first two days my arm felt bruised if I accidentally leant on it and then randomly it went a bit itchy where I had the injection but that was it.

I had flu in April this year (proper flu not just a bad cold) and felt absolutely horrific and would do anything not to have it again.

cantmakeme - my midwife said that they don't always listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks as it can be difficult to find, particularly if the baby hasn't moved up out of the pelvis. She said she would try with me but wanted me to understand that she might not find it and if she didn't then it didn't mean there was no heartbeat. I think they have had women panic (understandably) if they can't find it. Your midwife might have decided not to offer it.

Everdene - I'm glad everything was ok at your scan. I would have a scan every day if I could! It's so lovely to see the baby on screen.

Has anyone been given the maternity form that you need to give your employer? I haven't had one yet, I'm not sure if I should have.

Mummymulb16 · 01/11/2016 08:03

Has anybody got really itchy boobs to the point their nipples are cracked? Sad

summerskittles91 · 01/11/2016 08:18

Mummymulb16

Me :( I can't deal with it anymore. No matter what I wear, how much I itch or what I do they're so painful and sore :(

JennyOfOldstones · 01/11/2016 08:21

Topkitty I have midwife today and going to ask for my MATB1. They did say I could have asked for it at my scan but I forgot. I have an idea you need it by 25 weeks but could be wrong.
