Hi everyone, been stalking this thread for a while but nervous to actually join as we were waiting for NIPT test results (I'm high risk, being 37) and I didn't want to jinx it somehow ... Silly, but there you go. Anyway, everything came back low risk, hurrah, so can I join? Smile Expecting first baby on 18th April - I think there's a few of us with the same date! I finally went out and bought maternity clothes from H&M today before I start snapping the emergency hairbands that are vaguely holding my jeans closed Grin but still too anxious to buy any baby stuff yet. We start telling our friends and family this weekend though which I'm super looking forward to - my poor dear MIL has waited 16 years for us to get round to it!!

Hi and Congrats Cuppa

Everdene
If you only had one Lletz treatment you should be fine. I had one 7 years ago for CIN 3. I asked about conceiving at appt and was told to go ahead. I was pregnant the next month!
Midwife referred me for consultant care, but he said that if only 1 Lletz you are not higher risk, so I was straight back to Midwife led care. He said they don't treat you as any different unless you have a late miscarriage (and there wasn't anything to look out for re this).
That pregnancy was fine, and so was DC2 3 years later.
This is my 3rd pregnancy and again no extra care needed. Fingers crossed.

At the birth of DC1 the midwife said sometimes scar tissue can slow dilation, but both labours were very quick.

The only negative for me is coils are hard to insert as there is flatter surface than usual.

everdene · 29/10/2016 16:31

Welcome cuppa! Brew

Finova it is so good to hear that! I'm under consultant led care anyway for a totally separate health condition Hmm so I'm glad this isn't going to complicate everything!

I have waited so long to have a baby so I want everything to work out. My hospital seem really good, which is reassuring.

Happy weekend everyone!
Chat did you get my message to join the Facebook group?

Welcome Cuppa and congratulations!

Thanks for all the travel system advice. We are lucky that my parents have offered to buy us a pram, otherwise I would definitely be getting a second hand one. Thinking of going with the Joolz Geo. Tried some out today... getting excited!

ChatEnOeuf · 29/10/2016 18:38

Welcome, Cuppa!

I did, jpeg, I did reply. Invite has been sent, but FB is sometimes misbehaving, so if you're not in, let me know, tell me who you are, and I can add you as a friend (you can delete me afterwards!).

MyGreenSofa · 29/10/2016 19:54

Worth saying too about the Facebook group that you get the invite via email not via Facebook so you need to check your email. Mine did anyway!

choccybiscuit · 29/10/2016 23:45

Good luck for Monday everdene in hope it goes well

CarryOn2016 · 30/10/2016 09:43

hello,
has anyone got sacro-iliac joint pain? I was thinking of using a body pillow support. Have you used one and any you would recommend please? There are loads out there and difficult to know what's best.
Thanks

choccybiscuit · 30/10/2016 10:20

Pointless post but I have my driving test tomorrow! I'm so nervous..... Anyone got any tips?

jpeg28 · 30/10/2016 10:38

Not pointless choccy that's very nerve wracking! It's been a long time since I did mine! I guess make sure you've done a practice test and don't panic! I'm sure you'll do great!

My bump has properly popped now, it starts at my boobs though! Rather than a little mini one low down. I'm worried it's too big for 16 weeks!!

choccybiscuit · 30/10/2016 10:41

Thanks jpeg . My bump is also enormous. I feel a bit of a fraud though as I had a bit of a tummy plus I suffer with ibs so my bump is half fat and bloating and half baby lol

jpeg28 · 30/10/2016 11:01

I had a tummy before too and I'm sure it can't all be just baby! Good luck with the test tm

MrsRhubarb · 30/10/2016 11:16

Bubbins Mine was a velcro baby too, who screamed whenever I put her in the pram, thank god for discovering slings as we would never have left the house otherwise. By the time she was 2 she wanted to run everywhere so I just kept a ring sling in my bag for when her legs got tired, but we managed fine without a pushchair at all (it's still in the attic so not buying a new one for Number Two to refuse.) I am buying a new stretchy though, my Caboo has been borrowed by quite a few friends since DD so has lost a little bounce. Boba do some pretty patterned ones, so I might get one of them.

TopKittyKat · 30/10/2016 11:57

Good luck choccy

Mine was also a long time ago but I remember it well. I failed first time as the nerves got the better of me and I made one silly mistake (big enough for a fail). The nerves were the hardest bit for me.

Good luck!

choccybiscuit · 30/10/2016 13:04

Thanks topkittykat . I think it will nerves with me too Sad

Mummymulb16 · 30/10/2016 16:29

How's everyone doing? I feel like I am rhaving ally showing now? It's my second but I do think I look big anyone else feel like it? According to Ovia baby is the size of a sweet potatoe but I look like It's the size of a melon worried how much bigger I will get!

Mummymulb16 · 30/10/2016 16:33

That should said I am really showing now Halloween Hmm

RaRa25 · 30/10/2016 16:44

Good luck god tomorrow choccy

RaRa25 · 30/10/2016 16:44

For not god!

MrsRhubarb · 30/10/2016 16:59

My Ovia is on the Parisian Bakery theme, and today baby is a crème brulée. YUM! Some days I look huge, like msot of last week, but other days (like today) everything vanishes, which is really weird. I can definitely feel a hard lump where baby is, but it is hidden by tummy fat when I stand.

Isn't it dark stupidly early now the clocks have gone back? Today has felt very weird. Feels like a perfect evening to snuggle up in front of the fire, but I'm at work tonight.

abeandhalo · 30/10/2016 18:47

Haha I've been saying this to partner, if it's only the size of a pepper in there why is my tummy so enormous, and how big is it going to get in the next 5 months?

Niks2026 · 30/10/2016 19:01

Private messaging is not working for me. My email is [email protected] if I could please be added to the Facebook group.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 30/10/2016 19:08

MrsRhubarb I'm really impressed by people who manage without a buggy altogether - I bought a ring sling with the intention of using it like you did but I never quite mastered it and DS was able to squirm his way out too easily! We have a manduca plus a soft stretchy wrap for the early days. Hoping this next baby is a bit less Velcro but equally hope it's not a sling refuser as I found the sling so convenient. I used to hate being encumbered with a giant buggy compared to the ease of having the baby snuggled against you.

ChatEnOeuf · 30/10/2016 21:20

Invite sent, Niks :)

I've found much amusement from the Dads' edition of how big is baby - this week, I've a Blackberry in my uterus.

AnnaKateNZ · 30/10/2016 21:51

Anybody clever with nub or skull theories who would like to take a guess on my babies gender from our 12 week scan? Gender scan is in two weeks and I can't wait, not that I mind either way, I just want to know :) is there a thread for gender predictions?
