Congratulations Fox, it's such a relief isn't it!
I've been to EPU this morning so got to see my little bean. Cue me swearing, apologising for swearing then promptly bursting in to tears.
I have a small bleed site near the baby, but apparently it's really common as the baby burrows in and shouldn't pose a risk to the pregnancy.

RasperryInAMelon · 23/10/2016 00:05

Glad to know it's not just me getting big!

I was at a gig tonight and some woman asked if it was my first, followed by 'you're so lucky with a petite little bump, you can't have long left now have you!?...'

When I told her I'm only 9 weeks she gasped and told me I'll get massive!

Glad all went well Fox! So amazing to see your own little bean!

crazyzooo · 23/10/2016 07:58

Am I the only one who feels I've been pregnant for ages....?? Smile I am admittedly not the most patient person Hmm... Had an early scan at 7 weeks because I "had to know" and had another scan and the harmony test yesterday at 10+1. The little dot was rolling and waving it's little arms buds around - it's amazing how fast they grow!!

lucieloos · 23/10/2016 09:15

I have a bit of a pot belly at the moment but apparently at this stage it's all bloating from the extra progesterone and not baby. Think it becomes more of a baby bump from around 15 weeks.

Crazy, that's amazing about the scan. I'm having one at 10+1 next Saturday along with the harmony. My last scan was 7+5 I'm a little nervous something could have gone wrong in the meantime although I have no reason to think that but just scared of mmcs.

crazyzooo · 23/10/2016 09:23

Lucieloos, yes I was too but chances are it's all good if you've already seen the heart beat at 7 weeks!! This pregnancy business is mighty unsettling for someone used to being in control Blush

Sonnet18 · 23/10/2016 09:45

I'm 11 plus 1 and feel like I've been pregnant for about a year. Doesn't help that DD has reverted to 4am wake-up followed by 90mins of screaming...so I'm basically awake all the time which makes it seem like every day I get through is more like a day and a half! For the first time this morning I got the "oh my god there will be two of them in six months" fear...but I'm sure I'll get over it!

FoxMulder · 23/10/2016 10:09

Raspberry Can't believe someone said that to you! Shock How rude.

Sonnet were you aiming for such a close age gap? It'll be ace when they're old enough to play together. I've only recently stopped feeling like I've 'just had a baby' and DS is 2.5! Grin

Mustbecrazy123 · 23/10/2016 10:21

People that have to reuse the pee pot, how does that work? When I give a sample they put in a plastic bag to be sent off for sampling, do they open it up and pour the wee somewhere else or just test it then and there and shut the lid and give it back to you?

I really need to tell my boss soon, I'm massive and people keep staring at my belly at work. Also I work in a big retail store so I spend all day on my feet rushing about and last time I got really bad SPD when I didn't work! Last night felt the twinges in pelvis back again and I'm only 13+2 so dreading what's to come. Hopefully they'll take me more seriously at physio this time if end up with it again when they know I was carrying an 11 pounder around last time!

RasperryInAMelon · 23/10/2016 10:49

Fox I was a little surprised, but it was quite nice to see someone notice Smile

EsmesBees · 23/10/2016 11:08

That's great Lorrie. Glad the bleed isn't serious.

Streaky17 · 23/10/2016 16:56

Hope everyone is doing OK today! Quick question.

My midwife was a bit .... er well scatty but reasonably OK. And we did move from office to medical room and back to office during my booking appt.
I signed an NHS form for free prescriptions but was I supposed to go home with this form? Or do I get it later? TIA

trinityrabbit · 23/10/2016 17:14

Hey everyone. Had a private scan on Wednesday and there's a little bean in there with a strong heartbeat. Measured a few days ahead at 10weeks so put edd to 16th May now. So relieved after mmc in Feb. Apparently if you see a heartbeat and measure of 10 weeks the chance of miscarriage goes down to 0.5% so I'm feeling much more positive. Roll on the nhs scan in 2 weeks and being able to start telling people!

Feels like my uterus is stretching every day now and I definitely have a bump already (may be my body recognising pregnancy after miscarriage I think). Anyone else feeling their body stretching?

PeachIcedT · 23/10/2016 17:27

Congratulations on the positive scan result Trinity, as it stands we have the same EDD, though what the 12 week scan will change that to I have no idea! Not getting the stretchy thing, but then again I've been so symptom free the whole pregnancy I was amazed that at 7+5 my result was a heartbeat. Increasingly nervous of the 12 week scan and what it will reveal to me Confused

growcookeat · 23/10/2016 17:45

Evening everyone.

Streaky my form came through in the post about 10 days after I left it with the midwife so you should be ok.

I am also huge right now! I'm exactly 12 weeks according to my calculations but look much further on. A lot of it is definitely bloating though as it disappears when I lie down! Going to need some baggy clothes soon. Hopefully after thurs scan I will be able to tell people. Haven't even told the family yet! On the plus side my nausea seems to be rapidly getting better and I can start eating normal food again.

EsmesBees · 23/10/2016 17:51

I got mine at the GPs streaky. They said they send it off and the card comes through the post.

EsmesBees · 23/10/2016 17:52

And I'm getting stretching pains too. Especially at night.

Adventuregame · 23/10/2016 18:15

Glad to read others are getting stretching pains. I've felt quite a few gentle aches today and immediately worry I'm miscarrying again !

OP posts:
Streaky17 · 23/10/2016 18:34

Thanks growcookeat and EsmesBees we sort of flitted from form to form so I wasn't following by the end.

McBaby · 23/10/2016 18:42

I have had lots of aches and pains the last few days. I think it the combination of wind, constipation and stretching. Rather than another mc as it seems to be a bit higher above my uterus and down the sides.

RasperryInAMelon · 23/10/2016 18:53

That's great news Trinity!! Such an amazing feeling seeing you're little bean!

I've also had a few pains here and there today, almost cramp like on the sides which has been a bit uncomfortable along with some backache.

Stopped in Mothercare today and got fitted for a maternity bra, sooooo comfy!

Also... can I get people's thoughts on this... I've fallen head over heels in love with a 3 piece nursery set (Lulworth) crib, changing table and wardrobe and a beautiful exclusive pushchair (Silvercross Wayfarer Chelsea)

Mothercare currently have an offer on with £235 off the furniture and the pram has been so popular it's on preorder.

I'm feeling like I should just bite the bullet and order it and keep it all boxed in the spare room etc.

However, my MIL keeps telling me not to, one of her grandchildren sadly had Mitochondrial and never got to sleep in the bed that his mum bought Sad but I really don't want to miss out on it and have the money available for it now.

What's the general census on buying big items so early?...

Sonnet18 · 23/10/2016 19:05

There will be other offers- these kind of things go "on sale" or "on special" all the time so you'll probably get another opportunity to buy it but ultimately it's up to you. If you want it then go for it! I bought my nursery set round about 20 weeks last time.
By the way, I have the silver cross pram- I don't like it! It's so big, heavy and bulky that I could barely fit it in my boot so felt a bit isolated and didn't really get out and about a lot at the very start. Also it was really hard to strap DD into it- I found it either too tight or too loose and she would wiggle free! The pushchair part of it is fine but I wish I hadn't wasted such a lot of money on it.

RasperryInAMelon · 23/10/2016 19:11

Sonnet is it the same Silvercross one? I know there are a few different ones. We have plenty of space in our boot so that isn't a problem for us, we're thinking to get the car seat that goes with it too, £595 for the pram and pushchair together and £135 for the car seat. It folds down quite nicely from what we saw in store today. I know the flat pram part is quite large though... but it's just so pretty!

lucieloos · 23/10/2016 19:23

I wouldn't be able to buy anything so early I'm still praying the scans will go ok at the moment so would feel like I was jinxing things a little decking out the nursery and there will always be offers on but obviously it's personal choice and if that's what you want to do then go for it. Having said that I did allow myself a sneaky look at prams the other day online and that one you like was my second choice. I absolutely love the icandy peach blossom in royal blue but sooo expensive!

Sonnet18 · 23/10/2016 19:23

Yep same one. I could get it in the boot but it was hard actually getting it in and out as it was so heavy and bulky (and I'm pretty tall and consider myself strong!) so it just became easier, if DH wasn't in, to not take the pram...I often ended up lugging the car seat around instead (which get surprisingly heavy surprisingly quickly!)
This is just personal though- it's very pretty to look at but I found it fairly impractical and not worth the money. My cousin got a similar one a few months after me and she said she wished I had warned her off it! Her baby is now in the pushchair and agrees that part is much more accessible.
Not trying to dissuade you, it's completely your call! Just my own personal thoughts!
