Ive still been drinking an espresso every morning. Don't drink hot drinks for rest of day - mw said was fine.

I've also had odd small glass of wine (twice) - there really is no evidence that occasional alcohol intake is damaging. Also plan on having a Snowball on xmas eve!

Glitterbaby17 · 10/11/2016 21:35

Scan today and happy healthy little bub turning somersaults, measuring a bit ahead so due 22nd May now.

When have people found their energy has come back? I've been really struggling to exercise and just wanting to rest in the evenings and am feeling a bit down and lazy 😢

INeedNewShoes · 10/11/2016 21:39

13 weeks was my turning point Glitter. I was very tired, sleeping a lot and generally a bit apathetic up until 12+5 or thereabouts but over 3–4 days it gradually lifted.

I have to say my motivation for things still isn't quite what it was though!

Badgerbird · 10/11/2016 22:41

Hey newshoes so lovely to have you here, I know you from other thread :) glad all going well.

I'm so relieved I have managed to change my dating scan to this coming Mon 12+3!! It wasn't going to be till I was 13+4 but I'm flying and road tripping end of next week so really wanted reassurance before I travelled. On top of majorly wanting reassurance anyway!! I'm excited, but worried incase I shouldn't be Confused

I checked out the seraphine under bump jeans in sale, they look very nice, but pricy still for me but I'm guessing I'll prob live in them? Thanks for heads up re Debenhams sale too. See how scan goes then may treat myself :)

I was awake at 3.30 am starving last night and had to get up for a snack!!!? Anyone else getting this?!

lullaby23 · 11/11/2016 05:05

Re: FB group I'm more than happy to add anyone, just PM me your email address and I'll ping an invite.

Had my scan this morning and all looked ok, got a couple of weeks until blood results. Ended up having the Panorama NIPT rather than Harmony which more or less does the same thing.

Good luck to everyone else going in today was it Esme?

Hi! I must make an effort to pop back in here more often. Exciting twin news! My DH really wanted twins for some reason, but it doesn't run in either family so it was no surprise we've just got the one in there.

This week I've suddenly started feeling pregnant bump-wise. I feel really heavy and DH said I've started walking like a pregnant woman! I visited the UK last week and brought over all my maternity clothes so that was just in time and I feel much comfier now.

My main concern at the moment is how much DD1 is still breastfeeding as it's become quite painful and uncomfortable. And also the thought of tandem feeding to the extent she feeds now is terrifying me! I've had some success this week at reducing the amount she feeds and someone pointed me in the direction of a thread on here about bf and pregnancy so I'm feeling optimistic for now!

Happy Friday ladies Smile

Same here with 13 weeks being the turning point for energy and nowhere near as much sickness.

I came home to my letter from my screening blood results.
1 in 2200 for downs and 1 in 50 000 for trisomy 13 and 18.
Phew!

Adventuregame · 11/11/2016 08:30

I had different numbers for trisomy 13 and 18 - is that not normal ?

OP posts:
1004Rise · 11/11/2016 08:34

I had a really good day yesterday, felt like a normal human being and got lots done at work but .... then was sick in the evening, went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 2 am to be sick again (this is new!). I'm feeling ok this morning so I'm hoping that this is the sign that things are getting a bit more normal.... still waiting for the "glowing" part to start!!

Thanks for the tips on hot drinks, will definitely try a few Smile

EsmesBees · 11/11/2016 08:36

Great news lullaby. Mine was yesterday. All looking fine so far. My minor gripe was that I couldn't see much of the screen. Last time at a different hospital they had a separate screen so the parents can get a good view.

Also good news for you MissMoo. Those are very reassuring results. Have to wait a couple of weeks for mine.

talulahbelle · 11/11/2016 08:45

The letter confirming I'm low risk for downs (1:22000) and Edward's/Patau (1:100000) arrived yesterday but I only opened it today thanks to the mess that is our house.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed with clutter and untidiness, I've been sick and fatigued for so long nothing is getting done bar the minimum, as although DH is wonderful he works long hours. I just don't know where to start and don't feel well enough to either. Argh.

Adventuregame · 11/11/2016 08:48

I'm worried about my results now even though they're classed as low risk.
Mine are 1 in 4200 for Downs, less than 1 in 50000 for T18 and 1 in 6800 for T13
Does Harmony test show up T13 and 18 or just Downs ?

OP posts:
Adventuregame · 11/11/2016 08:54

Maybe it's because of my age ? I'm 39 ?

OP posts:
lucieloos · 11/11/2016 09:03

Adventure, I wouldn't worry they are still great results and only a tiny risk. Yes the harmony does test for T13, the lowest the scale goes for harmony is less than 1 in 10000 which is what mine was for each of the 3. Your results are great though.

MissMooMoo · 11/11/2016 09:06

adventure I'm not sure but I would hazard a guess age plays a role.
I am 29 and a non smoker, I have a first cousin with downs but they didn't seem very interested in that when I mentioned it!

For the trisomy 13 and 18 I had 2 seperate readings but both were the same number.

When do you have your 16 week appt? My letter says I can ring my GP or midwife to discuss the results or discuss at my next midwife appt.

Adventuregame · 11/11/2016 09:10

I've got a Harmony Test on the 22nd November then 16 week check on 2nd December.

Sorry to be in a panic. I hadn't really thought about it as you just focus on the Low Risk bit but then today realised that in most cases the T13/18 results are the same ?

Thanks for the replies

Hey Adventure they seem fine. Im 39 non smoker etc and had harmony and got

lullaby23 · 11/11/2016 09:29

Adventure it will be (at least partly) down to age - I was told today for my age (35) the unadjusted risk of Downs is 1/240 so it would be higher for 39. The fact you're adjusted to the thousands sounds really positive to me.

I don't think being a smoker affects your probability of a chromosomal problem does it? I think that and your BMI etc might affect your risk level as in whether you are able to deliver in a MLU as opposed to being consultant led?

Glad your scan went well esme sorry I've lost track of who was Friday then Blush

Sk28, I felt the same. My daughter breastfed whenever we were at home. (Not nursery!) but as she has bottles as nursery it wasn't a problem to switch her over at home and we haven't really seen much of a difference because of it.
I read that around 5m into pregnancy your milk changes to provide for your new baby, and also reduces back to colostrum, so your child may not like the taste anyway, and may not be full after drinking. Smile

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 11/11/2016 10:05

Badger I'm too waking up at crack of dawn starving and nauseous (food is the only thing that makes nausea better), so I have a breakfast at 5am, 9am, oatcakes for elevenses, early lunch at 12.30 and I MUST eat something mid afternoon or I would gnaw my arm off.

Even when I'm not hungry I want to eat everything in sight.

And it shows: I not only have the bump, my thighs are expanding, and midrif too, I probably gained 5kg already. Last pregnancy I gained almost 40kg, nearly doubling my start weight; I guess I'm just one of those people who get huge when pregnant...

MissMooMoo · 11/11/2016 10:31

nelly I was so nervous too when I picked the letter up from the floor and realised what it was likely to be, I made DH open it up.

I am 13+2 today and I still haven't gained any weight, I've actually lost about 5 lbs, should I be concerned?
