Wow for the twinny news! Congratulations!

My tights were properly falling down today on the walk to school. Really embarrassing. Think they were ASOS ones. Blush

Cake solves everything!!

beachsands · 09/11/2016 17:10

Congrats on the twins and scsns! Had mine at 3.30. There's definitely a baby in there! A very wriggly one at that. I took a nap yest and I was convinced I felt flutterings but at 12w thought it too soon. Today the baba was exactly where I felt the flutters so maybe??? This is #3 so maybe a possibility.

RasperryInAMelon · 09/11/2016 17:33

Nelly I'll have a look at home and see whether I still have an unopened pair!

Adventuregame · 09/11/2016 18:18

rasperry how are you getting on with the commute ? I started wearing my badge this week ! Literally counting the weeks until I can leave so I don't have to trudge into London !!

Oh lovely twin news. I was hoping for twins with family history and being a bit overweight and over 30, but it was not meant to be.
The sonographer said nothing to me at my appointment about babies NT measurements, but I've seen after they took my bloods they've put a letter in the back of my paperwork that says 2.5mm. Reading everyone else's that sounds quite high! Confused
It took almost 2 weeks for my confirmation letter to come through last time so I really hope it comes quicker this time! My scan was on Monday and they added 3 days which makes me 13+6 today.
My sickness has almost gone, I had to stop the car on the way to work Monday morning, but I think I just turned the heater on too hot!
Hope everyone is doing ok and getting enough sleep! Smile

Barnes79 · 09/11/2016 20:09

I'm so jealous everyone is having their scans. I'm only 11w 3D and have to wait until 12w 4d at 3.20pm for mine! I've never known a few weeks go so slowly...

RasperryInAMelon · 09/11/2016 20:09

Adventure it's killing me if I'm honest... I've been wearing it for a few weeks. I've felt so sick and felt like a bit of a fraud for wearing it, but I can't manage the 40 minutes on the train to Charing Cross plus standing plus two tubes to Green Park.

Have you thought about when you're planning to go on Mat Leave?

I could technically go off as early as Feb, 4 weeks annual leave and then start 11 weeks before my due date - but I want to try and work as late as possible so I can have as much time as possible with the baby after the birth.

I think I'm going to go on Annual Leave in April and then start my Mat in May.

How are you finding the commute Adventure?

Adventuregame · 09/11/2016 20:55

It's ok when trains all run smoothly ! Cold and wet weather is making it twice as hard tho !! Bag, coat, umbrella etc ! So about 16 weeks left at work I reckon - whoop !

I have a question - with harmony test is it baby blood in your blood that is tested ? So how does it work with the whole Rhesus negative situation as it bought blood wasn't supposed to mix ?

MrsJW15 · 09/11/2016 21:05

Adventure, Barnes I've been wearing my badge since about 8 weeks. I had a couple of terrible tube journeys and I just needed to sit. So I'm still wearing it now and I've had a mix of being ignored and people going out of their way to let me sit. I'll ask if I really need to - that's the whole point.

teainbed · 09/11/2016 21:09

Adventure fragments of the baby's DNA end up in your blood not the actual whole blood cells. They have to be able to collect enough of the fragments to do the Harmony test.

Adventuregame · 09/11/2016 21:24

Thanks tea. Suddenly wondered if I'll get there and they'll say they can't do it as I'm Rhesus neg !

Lovely news with all the scans and harmony results! Also twins, wow. Such hard work to begin with but playmates when they're older I'm sure it will be worth it. This time tomorrow I will be having my scan at last, good luck to everyone else going in today and tomorrow.

I'm overseas in a country where maternity leave is limited so I decided to resign when I was pregnant last time as I wasn't planning on going back when baby was 16 weeks old (or waddling in working up to 40 weeks) Loved it and wasn't bored in the slightest, rewatched Breaking Bad, stocked the freezer etc. Totally recommend it if it's feasible.

lullaby23 · 10/11/2016 01:31

wishiwassleeping please don't worry about the NT measurement, remember if you're 13+6 that is the max gestation where it is reliable. Your baby will be bigger than a 12+0 baby all over. Hope the bloods come back ok for you x

Shoney85 · 10/11/2016 06:56

Hi everyone I'm the newbie, currently 14+5, due may 6th. Attached my scan photo. This is our first baby. Very nervous. Had a wee scare at the start and sooo worried but we are here and still scared something will happen. Soooo excited, can't wait to meet him/her. My tiredness is starting to go, getting my energy back however still suffering with nausea and sickness, my actual sickness didn't start till about 10/11 and has gotten worse, been tough but trying to get through is as I know the result will be awesome xx

Hi Shoney and welcome.

There's identifying details on your scan pic like your CHI number, did you realise? If you want it removed you can report your own post to MNHQ.

Streaky17 · 10/11/2016 07:55

Thanks everyone feeling a bit more relaxed today. I think I thought with one I could wing it but with two that's probably not a good idea. And I had complete faith in my body with one as that's what its supposed to do.

nelly It is my first so completely new to me. Did anyone mention exercise to you? I was planning to go as long as possible but now I'm not sure. Best to ask gp or mw?

I just booked onto the first local preg yoga after Christmas as a first step to getting organised!

wish it depends how far along you are, at 13+3 weeks it will be bigger than someone who is eg 11+6.
Try not to worry too much ( I know easier said than done!)

Flingmoo · 10/11/2016 10:22

Yeah I'm going to take my entire year's annual leave in April and have mat leave starting around the due date. So I'll have about a month off before baby arrives.

Having said that, DH and I have been considering moving abroad to Switzerland (where he's from) before baby arrives if he manages to secure a job there by then. So that's scary. I may potentially be giving birth in a country which is foreign to me. Having said that, their hospitals are probably much better than NHS ones anyway. It's such a ridiculously clean country I'm pretty sure the road outside the hospital there would be more sterile than an NHS delivery suite Blush

Got my scan on Tuesday 15th and I swear time is going SO SLOW until then.

My belly is getting massive, boobs too, so hopefully that's a sign the baby is alive, well and growing...?!
