Just read my post back and I sound so repetitive. Baby brain?! Confused

EsmesBees · 10/11/2016 11:06

I've been wearing my baby on board badge since about 6 weeks! My tube journey is always packed and it's horrible standing when you feel so sick.

Welcome and congrats Shoney.

Had my 12 week scan today. All looking good. Measuring a bit bigger than my dates but the sonographer said it was within the margin of error so would not change the due date. Next scan 4th January which will be something to look forward to in the dark days of the early new year.

Badgerbird · 10/11/2016 11:15

Just wanted to pop by and say congrats on lovely healthy scans :)

To those having twins, how exciting!!! And nerve wracking! I've been a nanny to boy/girl twins for 10yrs now since they were 4 months old and love them to pieces Smile I was actually hoping for twins myself although I totally see how tricky it can be it is also such a beautiful experience and they have such a special bond.

Sipperskipper · 10/11/2016 11:29

Great news on great scans everyone - and super excited for twins! My cousins are twin girls (now in late 20s) and I've always admired what a strong bond they have.

EsmesBees · 10/11/2016 12:37

I think the time has come to give in and buy some maternity jeans. I know this has been discussed, but any recommendations? I didn't bother the first time (just had one of those extension belts) and it was a mistake.

MissMooMoo · 10/11/2016 12:43

I only have 1 pair atm Esmes and they are h&m over the bump ones. I find them really comfortable.
Hoping for lots of maternity clothes for my birthday in 3 weeks time.

teainbed · 10/11/2016 13:48

I'm wearing Seraphine skinny jeans today and they look great. Under bump ones and they stay up fine so far!

1004Rise · 10/11/2016 15:26

I've just ordered two pairs of seraphine straight leg over the bump jeans today ... they were in the sale so I have a couple of sizes so I can send one back.

On another topic does anyone have inspirational ideas for hot caffeine free drinks. I was drinking a gallon of tea a day and a couple of cups of coffee but I don't like the taste anymore so I can't just switch to decaf versions. I've tried some fruit tea but I'm just looking for inspiration....

EsmesBees · 10/11/2016 15:32

Thanks for the jeans tips. Will check them out.

I've been living off lemon and ginger tea 1004. Mainly to help with the nausea.

MrsJW15 · 10/11/2016 16:20

I've got some TopShop jeans Esmes. I usually like their jeans so fingers crossed for these ones. I'm finding jeans hard as I'm quite short and it's difficult finding maternity jeans in short leg lengths. I guess jeggings will work when it's warmer!

1004Rise I've been drinking lemon and ginger tea, and a cinnamon and apple tea. I keep meaning to get some white tea, which does have some caffeine in I think but only a little.

Badgerbird · 10/11/2016 18:18

Hot chocolate 1004 Smile had one last night in front of the fire when I got home. Bliss. Or miso is yummy and good for you too! Hot water with fresh lemon/lime/ginger/mint. Hot apple juice/spiced apple. Barleycup.

stationaryace · 10/11/2016 18:23

Hot blackcurrant squash, hot water and lemon (on days where everything else is too much) and probably every fruit tea going. Favourite so far is Twinings St Clement flavour. I was loving Cadbury's hot choc as my one-a-day treat but bought a giant tub of galaxy stuff from Costco and I can't stand it Sad

INeedNewShoes · 10/11/2016 18:41

Hello Smile

I've been lurking for a while but wanted to wait until after my dating scan before joining you as it hasn't been straightforward getting to this point!

My scan went well and my blood tests all came back ok too. I'm 14+1 today. My due date is the 10th of May but I've been told I'll have to be induced at 38 weeks due to my impressive collection of three different blood disorders that make things a bit risky.

Even though I'll end up having my baby at the end of April I'd prefer to join this clan of May mum's to be as we're in a similar stage of pregnancy. Will you have me!?

INeedNewShoes · 10/11/2016 18:45

Argh! Please blame the errant apostrophe on autocorrect!

13+1 today
Seen/cried on GP today, I'm just so fed up with feeling sick, I have a day of being better then back to being ill again. With that and work related stress and a toddler I was a snotty mess.
She was lovely and I've been signed off and told sternly to look after myself and the baby first, guilt isn't healthy and I'm not choosing to feel like this.

WishIWasSleeping · 10/11/2016 18:55

Thank you for your support ladies. I've just tried to put it out of my mind! I didn't see the letter at all with my first and they did the bloods at the mw rather than the hospital, but then I was earlier along, and I refused to tell anyone outside of mimed family until I'd had the bloods back. Hubby was v. frustrated!! I'm not usually a worrier, think it's just so daunting and totally out of my control... more BrewI think. Smile
And - in relation to tea, I hated decaf when I first tried it, but now I drink it no problem. Whilst preg I put a sugar in it (haven't taken sugar in tea for about 4 years) and made it stronger than I would normally drink - That helped. And added hazelnut flavour to my decaf coffee. Makes it much more bearable! Doesn't work with Wine.... do not put flavours or sugar into wine... Grin
Be interested to test out the theory's going around, we're not finding out of sex and I'm already taking bets off of family... so have attached a not very clear scan pic for your speculation...

Also, on the end of my very long post - what on earth is this emoji?! Archers

WishIWasSleeping · 10/11/2016 19:00

Oh, and because my last post wasn't long enough - I'm sure I read somewhere that most hot choc has an amount of caffeine in it too? Haven't checked that for over a year so could be wrong!
Mimed = immed = immediate. Ducking phones. Grin

Gurtie28 · 10/11/2016 19:08

esmesbees and all of you lovely lot - Debenhams sale is on, and they have lots of nice maternity clothes, just got myself some great over the bump skinny jeans....and maybe a top or two Blush

teainbed · 10/11/2016 19:13

Hello NewShoes I'm also unlikely to make it to May should probably have joined April too.

Decaf Earl Grey is lovely I can't taste the difference between that and the normal stuff.

Sonnet18 · 10/11/2016 19:17

I've been having one coffee a day (an instant hazelnut flavoured one) and just water the rest of the day. Some caffeine is ok- we can't deny ourselves everything! Don't mind decaf tea but I'm pretty tired so the coffee is needed!

Welcome newshoes! I'm two days behind you!

growcookeat · 10/11/2016 19:51

Just catching up. Congrats all you ladies who have had successful scans this week. Shoney we're dd buddies!

Tiredness seems to have swooped back in this week - think I've been overdoing it at work. Thinking about mat leave - if I can make it to start of April at work I'll have 2 weeks off for Easter (teacher) then will prob start mat leave 3 weeks before dd. So hopefully a nice rest before arrival.

Thanks for the Debenhams tip. My friend who's also pg said there's a sale at Seraphine ATM so might be worth looking soon!

FoxMulder · 10/11/2016 20:30

Sorry to hear some of you are still feeling so sick Flowers

Anyone else still struggling with excess saliva? It's so gross. I can't swallow it so I have to either spit it out or keep sipping a drink or suck a sweet.

Who was asking about the Facebook group? It's going strong. Can't remember who you need to pm to get in??

EsmesBees · 10/11/2016 21:02

Thanks for the Debenhams tip Gurtie. Will have a Google....

Welcome wish and congratulations. That emoji is a reference to The Bull pub in The Archers. There is a long running and very active thread over on radio addicts.

stationaryace · 10/11/2016 21:25

In my last antenatal group some babies popped out 2 months early so chances are we won't all have May babies anyway Grin

I've been looking at the Seraphine jeans but the style I like only has tiny sizes on sale. I might try their leggings but am waiting for a few pairs of jeans to arrive tomorrow (thank you ebay) so if they're rubbish I might add jeans to try next week.
