Oops... 7+1

Moose - great news on the scan.

Little lights - I can honestly say that worrying about labour is far worse than actually being in labour. I was in labour for about 3 days with dd (24 hrs at stage 2) and ended up with a c section because she was back to back and transverse. Your body is amazing in the way it copes - you just seem to get in to the zone and concentrate on the next contraction. Yes it's painful, but in a good way, and there are always options available to help you through the pain. And once you hold your baby for the first time you won't even thing twice about what your just been through - other than being immensely proud of yourself.

Goingmadttc · 21/10/2016 16:29

Yay congrats Moose, great news! Your little bean looks just like mine!

oliversmummy26 · 21/10/2016 17:05

Re. sickness, I've just started feeling queasy today, I can't decide if it's because I ate too quickly, or because I didn't eat soon enough, but feeling a bit rough today, like sea sickness..

Gone and bought myself some maternity jeans today, don't need them yet, but I'm worried with the bloating that's already happening (only 4+3) and it being my second I will show sooner, and I left it way too long to get them last time...there is nothing more comfortable to wear than maternity jeans!! Smile

PurpleHaze1 · 21/10/2016 17:35

I feel ridiculously tired today. Not sure if it's pregnancy related or just the result of a busy few weeks. Either way, I'd happily go to bed right now!

going personally I'd fly. I know plenty of people who fly fairly regularly for work & have never known anyone to not go when they're pregnant. Although as mentioned, I know insurance/some airlines can be problematic towards the end of pregnancy. The NHS advice is here: http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/927.aspx?CategoryID=54 if you need reassurance, there's no harm in chatting to a HCP Smile

PurpleHaze1 · 21/10/2016 17:37

Oh congrats on your scan Moose!

Bluesky with DD I was never actually sick. I just had nausea from about 6 weeks to 12 weeks. Fingers crossed you're one of those people who don't actually vomit Smile

Mommytobe2017 · 21/10/2016 17:56

Still no nausea for me still. Greatful and so relieved that I can concentrate on work to take my mind off the fact that I'm having a baby!!! 😆

6+3

Mommytobe2017 · 21/10/2016 17:57

I put too many stills in there... I need some sleep Grin

Masweetpea1 · 21/10/2016 18:05

I flew 2 weeks ago and was 6 weeks. I hadn't heard anything about not flying. I'd go with it especially as the midwife is saying it's ok to do.
Great news moose

annakd1234 · 21/10/2016 18:21

I'm flying to Dubai a week today, will be 7+4 then, it was booked before I knew I was pg so I'm not going to miss this holiday! I've had a quick look on google and cant see anywhere that it's unsafe to fly so I'm gonna roll with it I think!

Dragon5000 · 21/10/2016 18:29

Yay more newbies!
Hoorah for awesome scan results too!

I can literally eat anything I just don't fancy anything g I had a much better not so queasy day today and only had 1 biscuit and a few crisps till lunch and felt much better for it! I'm loving fruit too luckily and just ate a lasagne. It is a force to eat things but much better when I do.

I didn't get any nausea or actual sickness with ds and feeling very queasy but no sickness with this one.

I've been less tired apart from falling asleep last night.

Did loads of digging in am allotment at work today which is Against my r risk assessment but with noone knowing and feeling OK I just thought go for it and was careful!

8+2

In my experience, general GPs are terrible with advice when it comes to early pregnancy-I even had one who had never heard of the term chemical pregnancy, so I'd always listen to a midwife more, in those scenarios. That and there is nothing you can do if a miscarriage is going to happen-it is out of your hands-having had multiple miscarriages, where I have taken folic acid for months before, eaten all the 'right' foods and didn't drink a drop and it's still all gone wrong, to having a few drinks, forgetting to take folic acid in the TWW and pregnancy going very well. I'm not sure what studies would have been carried out on pregnant women between 7-11 weeks anyway (but I do understand you are only going by what professionals have told you babyand)

I really recommend "Expecting Better" by Emily Oster as it looks at all the evidence around all the baby myths and helps you think about which ones you need to think about and which ones you don't.

Mommytobe2017 · 21/10/2016 19:09

Whoever said about S+V pringles is a genius... Mmmm... Salty goodness 😆😆

Glenpip77 · 21/10/2016 20:01

I flew regularly with work when I was pregnant with dd - up until 28 weeks I think. There was no issue other than the airline asking for a fitness to fly certificate from the midwife from 20 weeks.

haveacupoftea · 21/10/2016 20:43

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday night. I have an alcohol free Koppaberg in the fridge, woohoo Wink

Goingmadttc · 21/10/2016 20:47

Gosh loads of fab advice and help from everyone on flying! Thanks so much! I asked my friend tonight who is a fertility nurse in a private IVF clinic and she says that her consultants advise it is fine to fly early in pg. Think I will still check with my fertility nurse but I am feeling quite reassured by that and everyone's messages. Definitely worth checking out the risks fully though and thanks to you all for your thoughts x

Goingmadttc · 21/10/2016 20:49

Tea- cheers! Im toasting you with my lime and soda on the sofa! Can't remember who said about the m&s alcohol free mulled wine but I'm going to go and look for that tomorrow!

Goingmadttc · 21/10/2016 20:50

Pps thanks Kitty I will look out for that book!

HelloMist · 21/10/2016 21:08

Thank you for all the replies and kind thoughts. Moonlight yes, been confiding in a few people today so I do have some support.

Oliversmummy and SerialMover, have added you onto the spreadsheet. Hope you wanted to be, Serial. (Please ask someone to remove if not).

Peace I wonder if it would work if you report your 1st post on the thread to mumsnet and ask to alter the link to the read-write one? as I am probably not going to be here much longer.

Mummyh2016 · 21/10/2016 21:08

Had a call off my doctors today to get me booked in for my flu jab, quite impressed with my surgery tbf, they seem keen to get things sorted. I'll only be 7+4 when I have it, one of my friends is 33 weeks and still hasn't had hers.
Had no symptoms this week then had the biggest stretching pains this afternoon. Wasn't nice but glad some symptoms are here again as was starting to stress something had happened.
I'm so hungry!!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/10/2016 21:10

They probably would, but I'm lazy.
