I start to waddle a little by the end if the day, my bump is on the larger side already! All bump though really so far. Baby was transverse at the scan and from what I can tell still is, my girls where both transverse up until past the 32 week mark, must be comfier lol x

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 22/09/2016 21:24

My husband has felt baby move twice, only just though. My 3 (almost 4) year old however has felt baby a few times. She had her head on my belly yesterday and baby did a good kick, I didn't say anything but just when baby kicked my dd jumped up and said 'baby kicked my head' she was so excited bless. I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and babies movements are getting quite strong now. Never felt them this string at this pint before

FriendlyGhost · 22/09/2016 23:08

Scan tomorrow and I can't sleep because I'm so nervous and excited. I thought I'd be more relaxed about things this time but apparently not. I just want to know that all's well and what we're having. DH thinks I'm being ridiculous!

ChozzleopsTheThird · 23/09/2016 06:57

Hope the scan goes well Friendly

The talk of really low movements is reassuring, all mine are just above my pubic bone and I was concerned with how low everything felt.

wispaxmas · 23/09/2016 07:14

twocats, very similar situation with my mum and step dad. She says she is still coming no matter what, though, as she lives in Canada and doesn't often get to see me and DD and won't with this baby either. I was totally expecting her to say she couldn't leave step dad as she goes to all his hospital appts with him, but she says his daughter will stay with him instead!

As for waddling, not here, though by the end of the day I find it a huge chore to get up from the sofa and sound like a really creaky old woman, haha. And I have some pelvic pain already, especially if I walk too much in the day. I've ended up having to take tiny half-sized steps, though, as the one time I had to walk to the station in my normal amount of time and took long strides at a normal quick pace my hips really paid for it later.

twocatsandatoddler · 23/09/2016 07:34

Wispa I guess the difference is it's not much effort for me to go to my parents (2 hrs drive) whereas for you to go to your mum is probably not ideal with a newborn!

MarjorySunshineDust · 23/09/2016 07:38

Ive felt a couple of strong kicks from the outside but DH hasn't caught her at the right moment yet.

Not waddling yet, I remember feeling like that right near the end last time but who knows what will happen this time!
I can't really remember when my pelvic pain really kicked in before but I feel like it was worse last time at this point so that's good. My lifestyle is a lot different now so maybe that's why.

Good luck with the scan friendly

Evergreen17 · 23/09/2016 08:00

Diva according to the uterus size chart thingy at 20 weeks your uterus is just reaching your belly button, so you wont feel it above that yet.
Friendly scan today!!!!! Oh my oh my oh my
Good luck! I have to wait a week for mine and I just dont think I can!!!

ScottishSnowflake · 23/09/2016 08:08

Thanks for the diagram Ever! My little one is still really low down and he's slowly getting into his own routine I think. My DH can't feel him kick yet, although he was finally able to detect where baby was laying the other day (rather obviously when stomach went from soft to solid!).

Good luck for the scans today all! I'm back for my second attempt at my 20w next Friday if the little darling decides to play ball this time! Wink

Off to my first NCT nearly new sale tomorrow - any ideas of items I should really be looking out for/ avoid?

kikisdelivery · 23/09/2016 08:39

Blimey charlie, it's nippier outside today here than it has been in the mornings for months!! I had to get my proper gloves out to cycle.

Scan day for me too!

Not as early as everyone else. I think I'm last thing at the hospital, boo. But luckily I have a really full day of loads on at work to stop me clock-watching and fretting.

Good luck Friendly and.... wispa I think? It's your scan today too, right?

Shellbell0403 · 23/09/2016 09:34

Good luck with the scans today ladies xx

ordinaryeveryday · 23/09/2016 09:51

Is anyone else still feeling nauseous quite regularly?

I know everyone is different, but I went to my first pregnancy yoga class last night and the ladies there at 12, 16 and 24 weeks all reported how they were feeling great... I'm still waiting for that phase to start.

I feel a bit hideously lied to about the "blooming and glowing" that's meant to be associated with the second trimester!

Shellbell0403 · 23/09/2016 10:03

ordinary i sometimes feel abit nauseas in the morning when brush teeth etc...

Question... I woke up in the middle of the night with a pain in my right side of uterus above pubic bone... made me worry abit! Anyone else had that?

wispaxmas · 23/09/2016 10:11

Good luck Kiki and friendly! I'm just in my way to the scan now. Going alone unfortunately as the plan had been to both go and take DD with us, but we hadn't planned on our dog needing to have a second knee surgery last week, so as she can't be left alone and everyone who we would normally ask to come 'babysit' is either working or on holiday I am off to the scan on my own. Oh well, I'm having a croissant and an orange juice and enjoying the me time. Grin

Evergreen17 · 23/09/2016 11:12

Good luck with scans!!!! SmileSmile
Sorry ordinary I never felt nauseous

DottyA · 23/09/2016 11:14

Good luck Friendly, Kiki and Wisp! My scan is still over a week away so very jealous.

Wisp sorry your DH will miss out. Hopefully, they'll let you record it for him or maybe you can facetime during the actual scan? Are you guys finding out the sex or are you in the waiting to be surprised camp?

Regarding waddling-- I waddle occasionally when I can feel the baby putting a lot of pressure on my cervix (at least I think that's what's happening). It can be really uncomfortable and I can only walk very slowly and gingerly

twocatsandatoddler · 23/09/2016 11:40

ordinary I've been very lucky and had almost no nausea this pregnancy, but I'm certainly not blooming or glowing, I'm exhausted all the time. Last time I remember the second trimester being a breeze so I wasn't prepared for this at all!

ordinaryeveryday · 23/09/2016 11:49

hmmn - I guess I just have to suck it up!

Has anyone started considering nappies in detail yet? I quite like the idea of cloth nappies, but am bewildered by choices and am not sure (we both work, and are planning to combine part-time working with nursery after the 12 month maternity/shared parental leave period) whether I am being a bit idealistic, particularly re: keeping up with washing...

And (bit of a specific question, I know) would a nursery use cloth, or would we need to supply disposables?

LondonGirl83 · 23/09/2016 12:31

Ordinary I looked into cloth nappies quite early on as my DH and I try to do the right thing environmentally.

Cloth nappies have either a positive of negative environmental impact relative to disposables depending on how you launder them and if you reuse them on a subsequent children.

There is a really detailed report on the environmental impact done by the department of agriculture that can help you decide. However, the long and short of it is you pretty much have to exclusively line dry them, otherwise the energy expended in laundering them and the additional water treatment required outweigh the benefits. Other factors mater too, like the waste management facilities in your area and how hot you wash them.

DH and I almost almost always tumble dry. That combined with the fact that our area turns non-recyclable material into bio-fuel (unusual but I live in a very progressive borough of London), our family using cloth nappies would actually harm the environment so we've decided against it.

wispaxmas · 23/09/2016 12:51

Everything is a-ok with my baby GIRL! I texted DH to tell him everything was fine midway through the scan, and took loads of photos, but it would have been a bit much to record I think. Especially as most of it is boring measurements!

kikisdelivery · 23/09/2016 12:59

Eeeee!!! Congrats Wispa! Had you known at all before? I'm guessing not, but can't remember who has or hasn't had private scans. Grin

2.5 hours until I leave work. 3.5 until the scan but I want to get there with lots of time to relax and sit and try to be calm!

DottyA · 23/09/2016 13:07

Fantastic Wispa!

Very jealous of all these scans - 2 weeks to go for me.
