WO, pmsl! You need to eat more regular than that - no wonder you're passing out on the bus!!

maveta · 07/02/2007 19:15

mmmmm...Yum yums. I LOVE yum yums.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 07/02/2007 19:19

I love yum yums - I could have stuffed loads of them. I seem to be very hungry today, and I suppose it is a mix of baby requirements, and possibly the fact that it has turned so cold and the body needs more to keep warm.
Since my yum yum at 5.00, I have had a fish finger and a piece of toast and I am still starving!!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 07/02/2007 19:47

hello all!
are we looking forward to the snow, or dreading it?

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 19:51

pmsl WO Reminds me of something out of the Witches of Eastwick!

Just to make you more hungry - made cottage pie with the rest of the mince and sprinkled parmesan so potato nice and crsipy - but not feeling like it so have had bowl of rice crispies instead and will take coattge pie to work tomorrow

Boys are waiting for snow... if the school is closed I won't have to go to work!

Going to have early night and paint nails - not sure about toes though LOL

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 20:03

1B3 - someone is selling a double mountain buggy on for sale board. Hope the house visit went well

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 20:23

I take it you've all gone off to trough through your cupboards - can't think of any other reason for radio silence unless you have snow already and are gawping out the window!

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 07/02/2007 20:26

no, just scanning through other threads to see what comical stuff is going on tonight!

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 20:31

the one about boys having their arms outside the bedhseets to shop them masturbating was funny but now got into some mad religious thing - boring!

1becomes3 · 07/02/2007 20:46

Just a quick pop in a I am in serious pain after sitting in the car for a couple of hours,so need to chill out and watch some tv in bed.

On the house front, at the moment it is a terrible fuck up, the lay out is all wrong so needs to be re-done the way we want it before we move in.

It is a smaller house than the one we are in now, the back garden is like a postage stamp, yet for some reason (mainly the location)is worth more that our house will ever be.

I don't really want to live there but in the long run it will save us so much time money and energy, if we get the package we want then i think we have no choice we would be mad not to go for it.

I will just have to pray the DT's are good babies and that I can cope with no one I know around me.
It should only be for around six months, before we sell it and move back to normality.

Guess I will just have to like it for the time we are there, if things get too tough I guess I could always move back in with my parents.

At least I know I have support at the end of some phone and computer cables.

Off to relax now.

Katy44 · 07/02/2007 20:49

Hello everyone,

Can't remember any of this, in fact my head is spinning!

I have also been wondering where Pesha is - meant to do a search the other day to see if she had posted anywhere else but it slipped my pregnancy mind

Pesha, if you're lurking, just say a quick hello (sure you would have done by now anyway, but still)

maveta, my boss (a man) has been very similar, I think he's trying to show his support but his comments make me think he's assuming I'll be like other women with children he's managed in the past (one in particular springs to mind) and he's failed to notice that I haven't slacked off yet (am just about to though!!), haven't had any time off sick since I started, and haven't even had any time for AN appointments (no big thing - it's always suited me to have the day / afternoon off, or they've been really late anyway). I fell as though I'm being judged on other people's performance, not on my own, if you see what I mean, and a lot of assumptions are being made that I don't get the chance to put right!!
Wow - didn't realise I felt as strongly until I wrote it down!

10weeks...CD is in the post, sorry it's taken me so long to get it done! I should probably mention that it says not to listen to it while driving (and if you do ignore the bit about closing your eyes )

Tili - how are things?

EllieK - there was something I was going to say to you but...no, it's gone. Oh well, hello anyway.

Katy44 · 07/02/2007 20:50

Oh 1b3 that sounds like a bit of a compromise too far. Sorry if you've explained this further down but why is this such a good idea? Are you just getting a really good deal?

Bramshott · 07/02/2007 20:53

Glad to hear it sounds do-able 1b3. And of course we are all here when you need to offload !

Have 'popped in' several times today, but feel so tired and uninspired compared to you witty lot, that haven't posted anything. I'm a bit worried about Pesha too - have you heard anything back EllieK? Let's hope she is just having computer problems.

Katy44 · 07/02/2007 20:55

I've just done that search and the last post I can find is on the 19th of Jan -so 3 weeks ago!
Does anyone have her email address? Or is that what a CAT is? (excuse my ignorance)

Bramshott · 07/02/2007 20:56

Katy - I did a search for Pesha earlier (not that I'm stalking her or anything!!), and she hasn't posted anywhere since on our thread on Fri 26 Jan. At that point she said her DS was ill and she was going out to get a thermometer - sounds like an Agatha Cristie plot!

eca · 07/02/2007 20:59

WO!! Not eating all day! You mad woman! I'm going dizzy and sick if I don't eat for a couple of hours!!! Thanks for cd. dh and i listened to the first part last night and it was sooooo relaxing! Have moved CD player into bedroom now!

1b3 - house things sounds stressy, but necessarily at the mo. Remember we'll be here for you with lots of virtual love and support. At least you'll have that.

hello to everyone else!

I had a CRAP day today a friend of mine was supposed to be visiting cancelled. It wouldn't be so bad, but she's not been to see me for 3YEARS (i've always been to hers) and she was going to come before xmas and rung the night before to cancel then too. Was very especially after cleaning out the spare room and tidying the whole house. I just don't know what to think. I suspect that her dh doesn't like her seeing me. Last time he suddenly developed a serious back condition that meant she couldn't leave him and this time she said he didn't want her driving because of the weather. I just found it really upsetting because we make such an effort to see them. Last summer we cut short our holiday to go and visit them for a few days, it feels like she just doesn't care or think that she should make an effort in return.

I'm trying not to let it get to me and to focus in on me and the baby now, but I just felt so let down again today.

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 07/02/2007 21:00

just put matthew to bed and now going to watch tv then bed x night all x

maveta · 07/02/2007 21:01

I don´t think she was trying to be supportive at all, or maybe she was in the sense of - making it easy for me to cut down responsibility etc - but it just seems like an assumption you shouldn´t make without sitting down with someone and talking about their individual circumstances.

It´s a very small company with only 2 of us in the office but we employ many people on a freelance basis throughout the year. And in terms of turnover it´s not that small at all. I´ve been with her since her second year (first year she did it alone) and we´re in our 5th year now. I have basically set up the office, systems, processes etc etc and love feeling like I´ve played a big part in setting up the company. And she recognises my part in it. So I just feel like I don´t want to just be shoved out now!

What was actually discussed was her trying to convince another girl to come into the office this year and take over the running of it i.e. also taking on some of my boss´ own responsibilities (more and more of which I have taken on anyway). This girl doesn´t really want the job and my boss is so convinced she´d be perfect she´d chuck almost anything at her. She mentioned giving her a percentage of the company!!!!!! I mean, Holy. Shit. Can you even imagine how hard my jaw hit the floor?

1becomes3 · 07/02/2007 21:04

Katy44-we stand to make around £50,000 for just buying this house and re-selling it so......... yeah I think it could be a pretty good deal, as long as we get everthing we ask for.

maveta · 07/02/2007 21:07

sorry - that last post turned into a bit of a rant!! Katy44 - I too am, unspoken of course, being directly compared to a bad experience my boss had last year with a pregnant worker (another company).

Will definitely talk it over with her though so I don´t carry on feeling like this! Good luck with yours.

Katy44 · 07/02/2007 21:08

maveta that's terrible . It doesn't sound as though yuor boss is being supportive at all - that's not what I meant by saying mine is (kind of!! Except I think he reverts to how how really thinks without realising), sorry.

1b3 - how soon would you have to re-sell? Could you consider a bridging loan to buy the house as an investment (or something like that?)

Katy44 · 07/02/2007 21:09

Sometimes you just need a rant

Katy44 · 07/02/2007 21:11

Oh - where can you buy swaddling cloths from? The books I've read say 'from any chemist' (what chemists have they been to? mine barely sells shampoo)
I've searched on the Boots site, mamas and papas and mothercare, but nothing (unless I'm not spelling it correctly)

EllieKwithaHUGEbump · 07/02/2007 21:12

ok, still here lurking but on phone to stephen!
can't post cos he can hear me typing and thinks i'm not paying attention to him

haven't heard back from Pesha, i think when you CAT mumsnet send her an email?

need to start thinking up new thread names ladies

maveta · 07/02/2007 21:20

Katy44- don´t know that they have to be special swaddling cloths, I think they can be any kind of blanket or cloth that´s big enough. I spoilt myself and ordered 2 from lulusapphire but mum has also given me loads of cellular blankets that I am sure will be just as good.

WO - have just emailed you, sorry for taking so long! please let me know if you don´t get it as I had to go back and check the address 3 times. having a thick moment.

Ellie - you sound like my wee sis! She is the queen of multitasking and I can always hear her msning while we´re on the phone. drives me mad.
