Awwwwww, you are very sweet - I am sure I can scrape a bit off the bouncy castle / ball pit / floor and pop it into a box for you sweetie!!

flumppootle · 07/02/2007 12:45

Thankyou all for kind comments just a bit hormonalicious at the moment
It gets very annoying being the subject of all those comments. Caz I am 32.

Miabt hope that James is feeling better soon.

Goodluck with looking at the house 1b3 - see what your gut instinct is

CD - lol at cake scraping

Emmymummy - I have used the same mattress, just unzipped and washed the cover and then aired the whole lot out for a while.

Bugmum, I am not suprised that you have a house full of books if you teach english our house is full of them too

I am going off in search of some liquid iron in a minute, started the tablets yesterday and has ms this morning so good tip for the liquid

to those with pains in ribs and backs. It does get harder to get comfortable doesn't it? Its not sleeping that I have trouble with its the getting out of bed in the morning

Feeling better in myself today. Had a mad morning with people viewing the house - was still hoovering when they turned up but hopefully it will sell soon.

weeonion · 07/02/2007 13:24

wayhey folks - just a quick post. what a lovely lovely day outside - the sun is shining and it was beaut on the early commute today - picture postacrd frost over the scottish belt. i feel in much better form - maybe it is the cd, maybe it is 3rd trimester??

had 2nd nct antrenatal last night. good to be among other people but the leader is all over the show and cannot keep track at all of what she is talking about. we got told off for starting to ask about cervical sweeps as she hadnt read that far ahead!!!

No snow here but my mum said they have a good inch & she lives an hour away in the borders. Edinburgh seems to have microclimate all of it's own!

Maveta - I absolutely wet myself at your conversation with your mum & her "Oh look at the birds" comment. Must be infuriating for you but it didn't half brighten my morning !

MIABT - the doula I've hired is a post-natal one so she doesn't attend births although she is a midwife by training. She says she'll do pretty much what you need - housework, cooking, playing with toddler etc. Also, she's a breast feeding counsellor which considering the problems I had last time could be very handy. She'll be coming in 2-3 mornings a week & isn't cheap but considering I got PND last time and didn't cope at all well I've decided stuff the money!

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 13:44

Liath - I would like a doula who does breastfeeding support - but can I get that through la leche or nct?

Am busy making geomag creations with ds2 in meltdown as not the shape he wants!

maveta · 07/02/2007 13:45

Glad I gave you something to smile about Liath It is SO infuriating but in this particular scenario it was a blessing as I just decided to pretend the conversation had gone really well

Our teacher for the relaxation class last night was great. She said for us to remember (all first timers) that we will make lots of mistakes and almost certainly do everything wrong but not to worry about it. She says she always says to her (now grown) girls "I know I did a terrible job but I really did my best and did it with all the love in the world, what did I know?" that made me laugh and hopefully I'll remember it!

maveta · 07/02/2007 13:47

Oooh 10 weeks, how exciting! Something in the post! This NEVER happens to me

maveta · 07/02/2007 14:23

ahem..

Hello??

geordiemacminx · 07/02/2007 14:27

I'm here babes. Very uncomfortable, sick of sitting on my stupid chair at work, hot and keep getting kicks in the fanjo..happy days!! Wish I could put my head on my desk and sleep!!

Hows things in sunny mallorca?

liath · 07/02/2007 14:33

Not sure, 10weeks - I heard about this doula via word of mouth. I think there's a doula website though - you could try doula UK in google?

maveta · 07/02/2007 14:47

Hey GMM. All good, actually pretty sunny today which is great. Feeling a bit bored at work although it's gone okay so far and only a couple of hours to go. Looking forward to home time - Mum is back from UK today and from what I hear she has a load of baby goodies for me!!

How about you?

geordiemacminx · 07/02/2007 14:56

finish work 3 weeks today.. and I CANT WAIT!!

Is it your mums first grandchild?

Mine is like a woman possessed... I'm sure she cant walk into a shop without buying something for her first grandchild.. I think its partly because when she had me she didnt have much money so couldnt afford to buy as much, now she;s a lot better off so is making up for it... and of course that makes me feel even more guilty for telling her to back off a bit.. still not to worry..

Looking forward to doing some baby shopping in Barca.. even though dp has banned me from buying anything else.. as if!!! Its 15deg over there at the moment which sounds quite pleasant.. although the only flat shoes I have are big heavy boot type things which will be FAR too hot.. might take my flip flops too.. although I'm sure all the spaniards will think I'm insane for wearing flip flops in February...I just get so hot!!

maveta · 07/02/2007 15:08

Yup it's her first so yes, she is like a woman possessed. I think my sister needed to physically drag her out of mothercare. I've given up trying to stop her, it's her new baby too I guess! It must be very special for them. But SHE'S STILL NOT STAYING OVER AT MINE! LOL.

And yes, you would be insane to wear flip flops. No trainers? During the day it's pretty mild and a jumper and light jacket would probably do you especially if you are walking a lot and get hot anyway but the temperature drops considerably at night so you'll need something warmer then for sure.

only 3 weeks??!

geordiemacminx · 07/02/2007 15:15

16 is pretty warm compared to scottish standards though.. and I've managed to find a nice coat, and jeans.. will pack them just incase as hot feet makes me very irritable... not really a trainers kinda girl.. I was at the physio on Monday and got into trouble for wearing "inappropriate" shoes.. didnt have the heart to tell her that they were newly purchased "sensible" shoes, only a 2inch heel as opposed to the 3 1/2 ones that I normally wear!!

I'm sure neither of us will get a look in once their little grandsons are born.. am I right in saying you have a sister? Me too, so the fact that I'm having a boy makes it even better in mums eyes.. Arghhhhh

Dp's sis has 4 kids that are all teenagers now, as are his 2, so his mum is remarkably calm about the whole thing!!!

maveta · 07/02/2007 15:26

I've got 2 sisters and my mum always wanted boys, she's one of 5 sisters! So yes, she'll probably be all over him like a rash. Although I'm sure I won't be complaining after a few months when I can just drop him round of an evening as I pop out with dh or whatever. I'm sure she'll be the most willing babysitter and has as much as stated that she will be his child carer when I have to go back to work. I can't think of anyone I would rather leave him with so will have to try hard not to complain too much at the beginning. Our wee one will be the 4th on dh's side although they are all close in age. When he's born they'll be 3.5, 2.5 and 1 so he'll have lots of playmates.

You'll have a great time in Barcelona. Ooooh IIIII want a holiday!

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 16:40

My boys haven't eaten their dinner - do I take them to football????! Which is the lesser of two evils - boys in the twilight zone, fighting and whinging and possible mega tantrums because of no football or just take them and sit and eat biscuits/drink hot choc and give in??? I know which one sounds best but have said if don't eat dinner won't take them... should I eat my own words and just take them?

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 16:41

Aha - have come to agreement - I will reheat their dinner, they will eat it - we can go to football and I get to eat biscuits!

geordiemacminx · 07/02/2007 16:42

I would have eaten their dinner!!!

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 17:10

Bugger - they wouldn't eat it so no football! so have eaten 9 biscuits to compensate for it - they are in their rooms - oh no the meltdowns have started! Better go....

twinkle183 · 07/02/2007 17:26

Hi guys

Thought I would check in to see how everyone is... Its nice to see that I am not the only one counting down the days til maternity leave!!!

2nd March - can't wait!! I am so nackered that when I do come home I find another full time job waiting for me... Although I must be one of the lucky ones with dh he does alot to help - the overwhelming feeling of wanting a clean and tidy house but not having the energy is starting to me... Is anyone else feeling like this???

Sorry for the moan but its just the way I am feeling at the mo'!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 07/02/2007 17:35

Afternoon all. Just read through the millions of posts and then the Tesco delivery arrived so have now forgotten everything!
It was a lady deliverer today, and she was not v helpful compared to my normal chap who picks things up for me and tells me to take my time - love him.

1b3, how was the house?

CD, sorry to hear you are still feeling sick and that dd's are getting up early. It is a bugger isn't it?

Maveta - loved the text from the conversation with your mum!

Twinkle - I know what you mean about the house cleaning. I hate not being able to do so much in the time I have. I have to keep taking rest breaks.

10 weeks - hope the ds's have calmed down a bit. It's so hard isn't it not to go back on your word, as sometimes one just wants a quiet life. Good on you for sticking to your guns and showing them you mean what you say!! I am not great at this which gives a mixed message!

Hi to everyone else. Sorry, being crap and can't remember a darn thing!

Feel shattered this evening and could just fall in to bed. B has been ok today, but she can be so aggressive sometimes. Hey ho. Feel a bit queasy as well, but think this is probaby hunger, although have just scoffed a yum yum!!

Right, need to sort tea for B - God knows what is on the menu tonight!

Back later.

10weeksandcounting · 07/02/2007 17:38

Have one childs dinner up for grabs if you're interested! Mince in gravy, carrots, cabbage and brocolli with side helping of tomato sauce! BigOnion can nip over with it!

weeonion · 07/02/2007 17:51

send it to me 10 weeks - have been stuck in the office waiting for a meeting to end so i can send out press releases. the food , tea and coffee is locked in there with them...... feel ike cinderella!

geordiemacminx · 07/02/2007 18:13

Er WO.....That'll be mince.. of the animal variety...

weeonion · 07/02/2007 18:17

i am so bloody hungry - i could eat a scabby dog - minced or not! nothing since a bowl of porridge at 6.30 so even the mangy pidgeons on the roof opposite look appetising.............. we have the big court case verdict here in scotland today so a bit manic! i may be on the news later - watch out for the one with feathers round her mouth!
