oriana I bought a few bits from eBay as spares. There's tonnes on there v cheap and I found them to b all in v good condition, some with tags on. I've had a couple of bundles working out to about 50p-a quid per item, inc postage, dresses cardigans leggings and top sets etc. I would give it a go if you're worried about not having enough. Try and get a bundle for about a tenner and see how happy you are with it. Are you having a boy or girl?

Bigfam · 06/09/2016 13:08

Try not to worry too much OrianaBanana take a look on gumtree for baby clothes & a sling & you'll be sorted in no time Smile

OrianaBanana · 06/09/2016 13:18

I'm having a girl - thanks for the advice both Smile

Babydreaming · 06/09/2016 13:19

I'm 27 weeks tomorrow, I went to the foetal medicine unit yesterday due to my Zika exposure and they did a scan. Unfortunately my baby is measuring small :( his head and abdomen are around the 50th percentile, but his femur and humerus lengths are on the 10th percentile! I was really upset and the consultant couldn't really tell me why, saying it could be due to a number of reasons including genetic, chromosomes or placental problems! They don't think it's related to the Zika exposure. They've booked another scan in 3 weeks time but it looks like a watch and wait scenario. I've been really upset since finding out, I hate the uncertainty! I've been doing a lot of googling, I think it's a risk for developing foetal growth restriction. I'm just preying his growth catches up in next 3 weeks!

Babydreaming · 06/09/2016 13:21

My 20 week anomaly scan was absolutely fine so it's come as a real shock!

OrianaBanana · 06/09/2016 13:37

So sorry to hear this Babydreaming. Really hoping all will be well for you at the next scan. Flowers

Popskipiekin · 06/09/2016 13:45

Babydreaming so sorry to hear that. Am I naïve to think that had your baby been affected by Zika then the measurements would be the opposite way round - i.e. head on 10th, other bits of him on a larger percentile? So I hope that bit of it was a relief in a way. But it's horrid finding out there may still be something wrong - but I'm sure someone else on this thread had a similar issue with measurements being off but the next scan showed a lot of improvements. So fingers crossed Flowers

OrianaBanana I buy lots of clothes bundles on ebay now, for DS size 2-3 I got 33 great items for £30 all in, tops, bottoms, pjs, and I'm sure for a newborn you could get better bargains, 50p per item as firwala says.

Eskerina81 · 06/09/2016 13:56

Fingers crossed for your next scan Babydreaming.

Sorry if this is TMI but those of your with piles, is there a lot of blood after you go to the toilet? Twice this week I've had what looks like a lot (more like what I'd expect from a period) & have freaked out thinking it was something wrong with the baby. (It's definitely coming from my bottom though!) I mentioned it to the nurse yesterday at my whooping cough jab and she just commiserated and told me about the terrible piles she'd had when pregnant Hmm

SolomanDaisy · 06/09/2016 13:59

Babydreaming, I have the same problem, but the femur is below 5th percentile. From what I've read (a lot), with the abdomen on the 50th centile your risk of IUGR is fairly low, so unless it's dropped centiles at the next scan (as my baby's did) it's not too concerning. I hope your baby's legs have had a growth spurt by the next scan!

Babydreaming · 06/09/2016 14:03

Thanks everyone.

Soloman - sorry to hear you are in the same position! My baby did actually drop centimes from the 20 week scan to my one yesterday, its femur length went for 40th centile to about 10-15th. Are they just monitoring your baby aswell? Have you been offered anything further to see why the femur length is low?

SolomanDaisy · 06/09/2016 14:11

I'm just having extra scans at the minute. The next step is a Doppler scan, to check placenta function, if the next growth scan isn't good. Have you been offered that? My DS generally measured big with a massive head but short legs (nowhere near this short though) so there's a good chance it's just genetic. He still has a massive head and short legs now. My instinct is that there's an issue though. My understanding is the big drop to watch out for is the abdomen, as that's an indicator of placental insufficiency and mine had dropped from 50th to 25th centile.

Did you have the nuchal/triple test? The PAPP-A bit of that is apparently a good indicator of potential IUGR problems.

sthldn1sttimer · 06/09/2016 14:22

Hi everyone,

I hope it's not too late to join - I'm due 28 December and sit in team yellow Star

I hope everyone is well. I just wanted to share a strange dream I had the other day... the baby was clearly kicking me in my sleep and I made a comment in my dream that the baby was kicking me! It was so surreal that the baby kicking in real life translated into my dream!

Babydreaming · 06/09/2016 14:47

Soloman I think they did doppler scan to check my placenta yesterday! They checked uterine arteries, umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery which all looked okay. my PAPP-A level was 0.4334, which I gather is low but my risk for T21 was 1 in 6792 so I wasn't that worried about it! Although on reflection it could have been a warning sign. This whole pregnancy thing is so worrying, I kind of wish I hadn't had the scan yesterday now as after my 20week scan I felt relieved, now I feel stressed!

Popskipiekin · 06/09/2016 14:47

Oh no Eskerina81! I think your midwife was wrong not to be concerned about you. Any rectal bleeding should be checked out, I would go to your GP as soon as you can. Just because piles are normal in pregnancy doesn't mean you should just stay quiet and lump it, particularly if they are bleeding, ouch Shock

SolomanDaisy · 06/09/2016 15:16

babydreaming, oh you're lucky they did the Doppler scan! With that being ok and your low risk triple test result it sounds like you shouldn't worry too much. Tipboov had one scan where they said the baby was measuring small but it was fine at the next one, so hopefully that will happen for you too. My PAPP-A was 0.55 but my T21 risk was about 1 in 260 and I've now had two scans with low growth. My next is two weeks today, I can't wait to get it over with!

Bigfam · 06/09/2016 16:19

Good luck to both SolomanDaisy and babydreaming when you have your rescans.

Eskerina81 I also suffer from piles and had a huge bleed a few weeks ago after a bowel movement (would have been the appropriate time to use the phrase "I nearly shit myself" but I was so scared)
I'd get a gp apt to put your mind at rest though.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 06/09/2016 16:47

Don't know if anyone shops there but Lidl has their baby event starting on the 8th and some lovely organic cotton sleep suits and vests, jumpers and cardigans.

Sorry to read about the scans hope all turns out okay.

goinggrey1978 · 06/09/2016 18:01

OrianaBanana, most of bubbles clothes have come from facebook selling site, all local to me or charity shops, so look up bargains in and add where you live, or baby and kids selling bit in and add your local area, or babies and children items for sale and add your local area, it's not just clothes for sale, i've got my nursing chair and stool, isofix base, baby gym and play mat, cot mobile, temperature ear gadget, cot bedding all from these selling sites and its the best thing i've done!!

peanutbutter2409 · 06/09/2016 19:17

Baby is all good! They think it's because he's moved into a head down position so his movement patterns will have changed. I had a scan and they monitored his heart rate for an hour. Typically, he's wriggling around again this evening! Definitely going to sleep well tonight!

TipBoov · 06/09/2016 19:33

Fingers crossed for your next scan babydreaming.

As Soloman said, when I had the anomaly scan, baby was measuring 25th percentile for everything except head, which was just less than 5th. I had another scan 4 weeks later, and she's back on track, with more consistent measurements. I think she's around 25th-30th now.

I woke up in the night a few days ago and baby was squirming like mad! I think she's now head down, as kicks are higher up now.

Thisisbonkers · 06/09/2016 19:56

Eskerina I had the same last night Blush I have suffered with piles/constipation (although it's been much better) so I'm going with that unless it happens again.

Thisisbonkers · 06/09/2016 19:57

Many good vibes for those with worrying scans Sad
