Earlier I was squatting down on the floor playing with DD and felt really bad pressure down below- not sore but felt like baby was going to pop out! I have since had a few pains this evening, nothing too bad but definitely there.

I've been googling and reading up on an incompetent cervix and needing to get a stitch to hold the baby in! I'm freaking myself out!

Any one else felt pressure down below? I don't remember feeling it so early with my previous pregnancies. Hoping it's just a case of muscles down there are a bit more relaxed as its third baby, but still freaking out.

prettypinkpearls · 05/09/2016 20:28

Cinderella I have had the same thing, mainly at night or when I lean over to pick something up. Had it for around a week and when I went to my scan yesterday I mentioned it and he told me it was normal and just my uterus stretching. I was scared if something was wrong but as long as their is no strong sharp pains that are constant, or any blood, I wouldn't worry.

Although this is my first baby so I am inexperienced and it could be something different to you, but how you described it is just what I felt. The sonographer and his assistant was very reassuring and put my mind at rest and told me when I need to worrySmile

prettypinkpearls · 05/09/2016 20:29

There* excuse my poor English, I am very tired Grin

MarjorySunshineDust · 05/09/2016 20:41

Wow storming through the new thread! I've not been on for a while as had a busy few days around DD turning 3.

All this talk of smoked salmon reminds me of the time I found out I could eat Stilton while pregnant Grin

CinderellaFant · 05/09/2016 20:41

Thank you pretty that's reassuring

GinIsIn · 05/09/2016 20:41

Having really bad stitch this evening in my left side - I wish everything cos just stretch out in one go instead of a round of pain every 3-4 weeks Hmm

SBSparkles · 05/09/2016 20:44

Evergreen and Nasch I also had a spontaneous hug from a child - as they do all the time (I teach 5 year olds) and squished my tummy! I suddenly wondered what I'm going to do to stop that!

Kellz92 · 05/09/2016 21:00

Hey everyone how are you all doing? I didn't realise I missed a whole thread while I was off of mn. Been on holiday for a few weeks and week before I was poorly. So I don't think I'll catch up!

I'm all good except migraines daily :( found out at the weekend I'm expecting a girl so everyone is happy. I took my mum and dad to the scan, my mum came to my 12 (13) week one but dad hasn't seen one yet so he was soooo excited. He wanted another grand daughter. Bought my pram too. It's all so real now!

Xxx

Shellbell0403 · 05/09/2016 21:05

Ever we can eat smoked salmon 😊😊😊

Well guys I'm Team Pink 💖💖

topmammy · 05/09/2016 21:08

Welcome pretty

Just to add to the matb1/when to put your maternity leave date in writing to your employer- they are supposed to acknowledge your letter in writing within a month of receiving your letter. I remember last time I gave my letter to my employer in April and despite me asking about it a few times I still had got no acknowledgement from HR in July. When there was only 2 weeks to go until I was leaving I sent anot email to them pointing out maternity law around this. I swiftly got the letter I was waiting for after that but it was sent by email to my boss instead, nothing to me personally or an apology. It was rather stressful! I hope they won't be so rubbish this time.

Fish- I hate smoked salmon. It's so slimy! Bleurgh!! I do however love all the fish we have to limit to 2 portions a week! Hmm

I'm back to work tomorrow after the summer hols. Training day tomorrow though then children back on Wednesday. I feel a bit apprehensive about it... my mind is more baby focused than anything right now! I hope I can get back in the zone for this term Confused

SBSparkles · 05/09/2016 21:23

I mean kellz!! Sorry! One day of teaching and my brain has gone to mush!!

GinIsIn · 05/09/2016 21:29

Sparkles - I just read that as "one day of teaching and my bra has gone to mush", so you are not alone!! Blush

Naschkatze · 05/09/2016 21:30

Sparkles
Yes, the hugs. I had a lot from last years class (I teach 6 year olds) at playtime and was more worried about them thinking "Hmm, Mrs Nasch has got fat over the summer." Hmm

Topmammy Good luck for the first day back. I felt the same but 10 minutes in and it all floods back!

So many people have scans soon! I've got to wait until the 10th October. Really tempted to book another private one beforehand!

Shellbell0403 · 05/09/2016 21:32

Congrats Kellz

Thanks guys 😊💖

SBSparkles · 05/09/2016 21:34

Fenella lol!!! I'm sure the mushy bra will come later!!!
Nasch I have been asked years ago, before I was pregnant if I had 'a baby in my tummy' when I wore a certain dress ( needless to say I bought more supportive tights afterwards!) but none of the kids have commented yet! Debating wether to tell them!

GinIsIn · 05/09/2016 21:36

Not exactly hug related, but the dog does have a habit of hurling herself on me like a small hairy rugby ball. Going to have to work on that one!!

Naschkatze · 05/09/2016 21:39

Sparkles I haven't even told most colleagues yet so definitely not ready to tell the kids. I'm dreading all those kind of questions though!

GinIsIn · 05/09/2016 21:58

OK, I know it's all very tabloidy and excuse the DM link but she's got to be making all this up right?! Only 2-3 weeks further along than us supposedly but you can see it kicking from the outside already?!

kikisdelivery · 05/09/2016 22:04

I'm back! I've caught up at lightning speed but will try to read properly tomorrow - I wanted to mark my place.

I can just say though - I one million percent can relate to the 16/17 week emotional outbursts! And the hip/belly/stitch pain... and the sleeplessness... garghhh!
