Not sure how many weeks she is Fenella but I felt my first kick from the outside yesterday- 19 weeks. Baby is very active but normally I just feel on the inside, but yesterday I was laid down with my hand on my tum when I felt it kick.

GinIsIn · 05/09/2016 22:10

But can you see it enough to video?!

Shellbell0403 · 05/09/2016 22:17

fenella have you noticed her bump size changes all the time also! I seen a pic the other day and looked like no bump... Surely she isn't telling porkies though...

ChozzleopsTheThird · 05/09/2016 22:24

Thank you for clarifying about the NHS card! Getting so confused!

I had a pain while at the gym tonight and someone who gave birth recently suggested it might me tugging of the umbilical cord and that it could tear so to be careful! Shock

Mysterycat23 · 05/09/2016 22:30

Fenella me and DH have seen kicks from the outside since about 16 weeks. (Mini Mystery is right down in the pubic region so if we were to video it would not be suitable for public viewing on the DM!) I think it depends on where everything is e.g. placenta? Everyone's body is slightly different after all. My bump is now much smaller but firmer than before. Panicked slightly about baby but I think a lot of it was bloating..

GinIsIn · 05/09/2016 22:33

Shell the thing I'm finding oddest is that she keeps changing her dates!

FriendlyGhost · 05/09/2016 22:37

Evergreen I would call the community midwife number in your notes. Hopefully you'll get to speak to someone sensible. I will try to remember to ask on Thursday at the hospital too.
Hope you're feeling better now London. Last time I burst into tears when telling my boss I was pregnant and had a blotchy face for the rest of the day. Lucky I wasn't seeing any clients. Hormones have a lot to answer for!
I'm still not feeling any regular movement so really jealous of those of you that are. I have felt some movement I think but not every day and certainly not from the outside. I didn't feel dd until later though so not worried.

SBSparkles · 06/09/2016 06:29

I can feel a bit of movement but not regular and I often wonder if it's wind! It's not common to feel anything until 20 something weeks so if you feel it earlier you're lucky! (According to my mw) Smile so don't worry.

divadee · 06/09/2016 07:06

Morning ladies. Shattered this morning. It's like early pregnancy tiredness all over again!!!!

I think it was Cinderella who asked about the pain when bending and feeling like the baby was coming out. I have had 2 LLETZ so being scanned every few weeks on my cervix for length. I get these pains and they make me really paranoid! But so far length is really good, and it seems others have these pains and feeling of fullness in the foofoo so I am getting less worried about them. I am seeing the specialist on the 19th so will ask him then if it's normal.

GinIsIn · 06/09/2016 07:23

Dog won the battle for the pregnancy pillow AGAIN. Angry

Kellz a girl! Smile
Shell another girl!!!
3 weeks and a half wait for me before we check everything is good with bubba and if boy or girl Smile
Top thanks for the tip. My HR team is pretty rubbish apart from 2 people. So you get an idea, I received a redundancy letter by mistake, twice they havent paid me and my payslip has gone to other address in the past. So defo would need to chase that.

I am putting on weight too quickly and eating pretty badly. This stops TODAY! I found this quite useful http://www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html
Since midwife only put me on the scale for booking
I dont want surprises for the 25tg week app

Fenella I dont believe the daily mail as a rule Grin but I havent watched the video as I am on the train. That dog! Smile

I am with the sleepless people. Why do I even bother going to bed?

Friendly I will call next week as I have to anyway if I havent received my bloods and booking info by then. So hopefully nice lady can help.

I am feeling no movements Sad 17+1

twocatsandatoddler · 06/09/2016 08:35

ever I don't think they weigh you again unless your BMI at booking was particularly high or low and they want to keep an eye on weight gain, I think they might keep an we on weight if they had a reason to worry but otherwise they don't check. For example my friend got weighed at every appointment to make sure she was putting on enough as she had hyperemesis through whole pregnancy and once baby had come out she'd lost weight! Last time I stayed off the scales after booking appointment for the rest of pregnancy as I didn't want to know!

Kellz92 · 06/09/2016 08:53

Sparkles my brain is mush too!! Mybfriend didn't feel anything until 23 weeks and her midwife wasn't concerned

Shell thank you!

Naschkatze I haven't told colleagues but they still speak about it when they don't think I'm listening.

Kiki I still feel emotional and I'm 18 weeks 3 days

Ready I felt outside kick on Sunday at 18+1

Fenella my dd steals my pregnancy pillow lol

Evergreen thank you! Nothing until you find out.
I'm having stress at work too!

Twocats I have high bmi but with dd wasn't weighed much. Twice I think

Xx

LondonGirl83 · 06/09/2016 09:20

ever your HR team are shocking! That's so bad!

friendly I'm feeling embarrassed so I think I'm going to follow up with an email to make due I'm better understood. I think I feel like I'm turning my back on my company who have been really supportive which is triggering all the emotion. I'm still not sure what I'll do if offered this new position but I'm going to interview on Friday....

Witch91 · 06/09/2016 11:39

Hi everyone,

A bit behind on the new thread, will catch up but really needed to ask a question.

I've had a letter through from the maternity unit with an appointment with the anaesthetist in December. This wasn't mentioned by my midwife at my 16W appointment last week, and I'm not sure why I've got this?

I'm going down a consultant led pathway because I have a bmi of 41, and I already have an appointment for GTT and an extra growth scan in January. My midwife did mention that they might look to go down the ecs route, but now having this appointment I feel like I'm being herded this direction, and I'm not sure if it's what I want.

Has anyone else had this appointment? Is it a standard thing a im reading too much into it, or do you think they've already decided I should have a c-section?

I appreciate any advice from you guys xx

wispaxmas · 06/09/2016 12:02

witch, it will be due to BMI as they may not be able to give you an epidural or spinal as it can be difficult to place if you're overweight, so it's to see what your options are. I know a few people who had the anaesthetist appt but ended up getting epidurals fine in labour if they wanted one.

FriendlyGhost · 06/09/2016 12:08

Witch if you don't want a c-section then you have every right to refuse. It may be that you will be given the option and decide it's best for you so an appointment with the anaesthetist is probably useful. They will be able to determine the best type of anaesthetic for you. It may be that certain ones aren't suitable. Even if you don't choose to have a c-section you may end up with one anyway so it makes sense for them to examine you first, especially if it's a higher risk pregnancy so they know what they're doing on the day. I expect I will have an appointment as I want an elcs.

LondonGirl83 · 06/09/2016 12:13

I echo with wispa says witch. They just need to assess your options in light of BMI of how pain relief would be provided if you opt for a c-section. You always retain your right to refuse.

Mrschn0804 · 06/09/2016 12:13

Hi ladies. Glad you are all still doing well despite the emotional outbursts! Last preg I had a meltdown at my OH at this stage because I couldnt get the shower the right temperature.... Blush

So had the worst nights sleep ever last night. Up at 2am to the loo, and didnt get back to sleep AT ALL! Anyone else found any insomnia cures? It wasnt lack of comfort, I dont know why I was awake!! All I know is come 3.30am I had to go and find food as i was starving. And then I just started to drift off around 5.30, and DS woke up demanding he'd done a poo (which he hadnt) Sad

LondonGirl83 · 06/09/2016 12:37

I woke up at 2:30 and could go back to sleep before 5am. Also no reason for it.

Shellbell0403 · 06/09/2016 12:52

I was up at 1.45 for the loo and didn't get back to sleep until about 5 aswell. Couldn't get comfy at all!!

SBSparkles · 06/09/2016 12:56

Rather than emotional outbursts Ive found in more levelled than usual! I used to get really bad anxiety and depression but felt great since doing ivf (weirdly even during apart from the worry and stress!!) I wonder if the pregnancy hormones have balanced out my old feelings? Hmm

SausageDogGeorge · 06/09/2016 13:09

Hi everyone! I'm glad I managed to find the new thread! Ive been on holiday for a couple of weeks & been busy the last week with the kids, before they went back to school today, so haven't had chance to come on here in ages - can't believe all the messages I've missed - no chance of catching up so I won't try but hope everyone is feeling well? Im now 18+2 weeks and have a big bump - all maternity clothes now! Smile

I wondered if anyone else is struggling with maternity bras?!?! Pre-pregnancy I was a 34a/b but i bought a couple of 34C and they are now getting too small (I have double boob going on!!) so I measured myself this morning and according to mother care website Im a 38D!!! It just doesn't seem right although I suppose my rib cage has expanded! I measured really carefully using a material tape measure and the under bust measurement was 33" and the round the bust measurement was 37". I just dont know if I'm getting it wrong and might be better going into the shop for a fitting! Ay experience anyone? Smile

SausageDogGeorge · 06/09/2016 13:10

oh, and I can totally relate to the sleepless nights!!! Most mornings I wake at around 5am for the loo then can't get back to sleep until around 7am when the alarm is about to go off!! arghhh!

FriendlyGhost · 06/09/2016 13:45

Sausage I had similar problems last time. This time I'm wearing comfy stretchy m&s feeding bras so not having the same issue! You can buy bra extenders which just attach to the clips at the back of your bra. Jojo sell them and they're good for expanding rib cages:
