(Instead I end up buying similar for crazy £££ in little white company)

Shellbell0403 · 18/09/2016 10:04

I bought a pack of three long sleeved yesterday from the Asda baby event for £3, lovely and soft but will stock up on more short sleeved ones.

Went to look at prams yesterday and keep changing my mind! Loved the silvercross ones but don't know if I like them anymore 😮

Ever I'm still not really feeling much I don't think! Think you should knit us some ponchos too! Haha...

LondonGirl83 · 18/09/2016 10:22

Hi ladies-- we are going to John Lewis to look at prams today. After that we are going to see a movie but will then finish clearing out the nursery and putting away some of the stuff we've bought.

Every weekend from now until then end of October we have plans though so I think all things baby will stop until the Baby Expo.

Wonderlust123 · 18/09/2016 10:28

I'm off to Mothercare later to take advantage of the sale and get a cotbed (first purchase!). Wasn't planning on getting anything until after the 20 week scan either, so slightly freaked out! Irrational fear of alien not floating around inside me anymore!

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 18/09/2016 10:39

I have online baskets full of bits at JL, mothercare, Amazon, m&s but can't bring myself to click buy! Did add some baby clothes to Jojo order the other day though, so sweet but a shame not to have somewhere to put them yet...

Exciting london I'm picturing your printer excel spreadsheet of pros and cons for each one Wink (as that's what I would do!) I've had my heart set on silver cross pioneer (if we do get a buggy) as I like the idea they're British and that's the brand my pram was as a baby. They're not cheap but should imagine will survive any change of price for importing etc. Anyone have experience of them? Or found good deals?

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 18/09/2016 10:39

printed

ScottishSnowflake · 18/09/2016 10:50

Piano, we've just bought the silver cross pioneer as an excellent deal on at mothercare - any of the pioneers (in any colour), you then get the free black car seat. I think the offer saves £135 and it's only on for a few more days. To pick your colour of pioneer, search for all silver cross prams/ pushchairs on mothercare and it'll bring them all up with the offer.

Shellbell0403 · 18/09/2016 10:53

scottish that's the one that I wanted but I actually can't decide anymore.. wanted it in damson I think it is.

ScottishSnowflake · 18/09/2016 10:56

Shell, I was actually after a different pram (own brand) to save on the pennies, but DH walked in, looked at all of them and made a beeline for the pioneer! I certainly wasn't complaining lol. Spoke to some of the ladies at work, and they said I was unlikely to get a better deal (and it fell right for our big 20w) purchase so decided it was meant to be.

Shellbell0403 · 18/09/2016 11:19

Ooh will need to go and have a look again!!

Can I ask something... does anyone find that their friends maybe act abit weird with you? My best friend is single and I feel that since she has found out that I'm expecting, that I don't hear from her as much etc...

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 18/09/2016 12:02

Hi shell I've just been reading in my "pregnancy manual" a bit about how relationships with friends with no kids can change. It suggested staying off topic of babies (no brainier) and maybe doing something you used to do together.

Lots of my friends have had kids for years and I know I was definitely treated differently, priorities change obviously. Have you spoken to her about it?

Shellbell0403 · 18/09/2016 12:11

Piano we don't really talk babies when we do see each other. She's just went through an operation aswell but recently she has became more friends with another single girl and they go out for coffee etc and I don't get asked... we are going to the cinema next week and she has asked this other girl to come aswell. Maybe I'm just over reacting or feeling abit hormonal/emotional about it?

I'm sure once baba comes I will make other friends also at the wee clubs etc... Not that I want to abandon my best friend or other friends etc
Xx

Shellbell0403 · 18/09/2016 12:24

Also can't mind who mentioned or asked but the Aldi baby event starts next week

kikisdelivery · 18/09/2016 13:58

Shell I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I love the Scottish phrase "Do you mind"! (And I'm sure you said you're up in Scotland?) We have two sets of friends in Scotland and pretty much the first time we met one couple, sitting round chatting, and one of them used "do you mind" to mean "do you know/remember" we were like, "um, mind what?" Grin

We don't get to visit Scotland anywhere near as much as I'd like. I love it up there, I'd move in a heartbeat but the OH is a wussy southerner who can't deal with the cold.

I have built my pram, in other news! Well, as it was second hand, what I basically mean is, I've put a new colour pack on it so now it's my pram, not looking like someone else's any more Smile. I'm also feeling lots of little flibbles and I guess kicks, and am being domestic today and sorting out our kitchen cupboards. An exciting Sunday!

Evergreen17 · 18/09/2016 14:12

Scottish I hope so! Although I think I felt him / her today at work.Smile only a bit though and might not be it

I am defo knitting the poncho after all the reviews here Grin
Haha shell yes let me start my maternity leave tomorrow and make ponchos for all the ladies here Grin
I must be the only one working today Sad
I have told most people already
I was going to wait for the 20w scan but I think I am starting to feel it is more real now. Everything crossed for the scan to show a healthy bubba! 12 days for the scan!

SBSparkles · 18/09/2016 16:37

Hello all! Got lots done today and can I recommend the NCT nearly new sales as they are amazeballs!!! We got about 5 baby grows, soft toys, three pairs of shoes ( including baby converse!!) a baby carrier/sling which I love and wooden toys, breast pads, Breast milk bags all for 36 pounds!!!!
We also then assembled our pram which we bought ages ago - we got a cosato giggle 2. Phew! Smile

SBSparkles · 18/09/2016 16:37

Oh and anyone who hasn't got a pram yet and is intending to buy one - we saw a cosato pram which car seat and everything for 95 quid. Could have wept!!! Grin

SBSparkles · 18/09/2016 16:38

(The pram was at the NCT nearly new sale)

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 18/09/2016 16:38

Definitely best to just wait until they're ready when it comes to potty training, they're all so different. We where going to wait until dd2 turned 2 and then give it a go but about a month ago she started ripping her nappies off so we went for it. She's really.surprised us and done amazing. Dd1 was fairly easy but u do think dd2 has taken to it quicker as she copies everything her big sister does which us a good and bad thing haha! X

SBSparkles · 18/09/2016 16:40

Scottish I found that too!! I think baby got a taste of the limelight and wants to be noticed all the time now!! Lol

ScottishSnowflake · 18/09/2016 16:48

SBS, do you have to be a member to go to an NCT nearly new sale event? I've never been before and am not a member - all new to me here!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 18/09/2016 16:50

We bought our pram today! A City Jogger mini GT, in grey denim finish. A thing of beauty, and far cheaper than the Cybex Priam which was our other option.

DH has ripped all the (old and hideous) fitted furniture out of the smallest bedroom and it's much bigger than we realised. We might go look at furniture tomorrow, slightly prematurely because we need to plaster, paint, carpet etc first...

I feel very excited now!

twocatsandatoddler · 18/09/2016 16:56

Scottish you don't have to be a member. I think members get to go in half an hour early but it's open to everyone after that. I've never been to one, but I think there's usually one here in October so I might give it a go if we're around.

ScottishSnowflake · 18/09/2016 16:58

Thanks twocats, we have one near us next weekend and DH is out so I may go and investigate ... Smile

SBSparkles · 18/09/2016 17:15

Hey Scottish I'm not a member either. It's a pound to get in. Look on the website for the next sale in your area. The queue to pay at the end looks huge but goes down really quickly!
