Piano lots of people do it, from my research. And with the lifestyle we have a pram wouldnt suit. I see the advantages for city and when it is really hot and maybe I will need one if my back gets too sore after a few months but we wont get one before baby is here and try to carry.

Yes I think summer would be hard in the heat but I will worry about that then Smile

I think I have been feeling movements but not sure what I am supposed to feel. And I can finally feel my uterus Grin

twocatsandatoddler · 16/09/2016 08:12

evergreen carriers are much easier in lots of ways. Definitely give it a go - I think we all feel we need to buy everything and make all the decisions before the baby arrives, but there's nothing stopping you buying a pram when the baby is here if you decide you need one. For me I found the pram useful to carry shopping, and I wouldn't have been fit enough to carry DS at first as I had an emergency Caesarian, but if we hadn't had the pram I'm sure we would have managed!

GinIsIn · 16/09/2016 08:16

Definitely pram here too - new house is at the top of a really steep hill- there's no way I could carry the baby and shopping up it!

LondonGirl83 · 16/09/2016 08:19

I have a bad back (slipped a disc last year) so I am definitely having a pram. I doubt I'll be able to do much baby carrying past the first couple of months. Also, we walk around a lot in our neighbourhood -- no car- and would use it on public transportation etc. Also, everywhere around here is very baby friends so we'll be able to go out eating etc with the baby and it will be nice to be able to put her down.

FriendlyGhost · 16/09/2016 09:24

You can definitely survive with just a sling if that's what suits you. I went through a phase of rarely using the buggy when Isabelle first started to walk as I found it easier carrying her and then having hands free to help her walk. I'm back to the pram a lot more now I'm pregnant.
I definitely did need a pram at first because I had a c-section but once I was recovered I started to use a sling a lot. I do love a pram to shove lots of shopping in and don't underestimate the amount of stuff you need to carry around with a small baby. It's also useful to dump a baby in while you have a cup of coffee! It definitely depends on your lifestyle though and you can always get something if you do change your mind afterwards.

Morning ladies.

Working from home again today and just spoken to the midwife who has recommended a support belt and see if that helps this under bump pain. So I have ordered one that gets delivered tomorrow so will let you know if it works!

Also for those with slings etc... I want one of those wrap ones but so many different ones. And I don't have a sling library near me to try them out etc.... Any suggestions?

kikisdelivery · 16/09/2016 11:04

Diva, we seem to be having similar aches, and I got a couple of different support bands from JoJo in the week, mostly to help with support when cycling. They seem to be doing the trick so far, so fingers crossed it'll help ease it for you too Smile

I ate something yesterday that slightly disagreed with me and am now paranoid I've made the bubs ill too. I (sorry, TMI slightly!) wasn't sick but definitely had to rush to the loo - only the once though - I just get overly paranoid about what is/isn't something to fret about!

divadee · 16/09/2016 11:17

Thanks kikis glad it's working for you. I hope it will help as when I hold my bump up that helps a lot. She's a little devil this bubs with her being so low down.

Ragdollmum1985 · 16/09/2016 12:39

I get my flu jab every year for work so will probably get it this year too.

I'm really confused what pram to get so me and dh are going to have a look once we get back from our holiday. My friend just got the Joolz and it looks lovely but I also really like the look of the egg.

Evergreen17 · 16/09/2016 12:41

Just finished this jumper Smile
And will make this hat to go with it

Doea anyone have any advice on baby slings? I would love to get one that would work for both me and dh.

London I also hurt my back a couple of years ago and ended up being off work for a few months because of it. Really worried that it's going to cause me problems later in my pregnancy but I suppose I will just have to wait and see Sad

MarjorySunshineDust · 16/09/2016 13:04

ragdoll I recommend Moby wrap for when baby is tiny then we moved onto a buckled Manduca. Both very comfortable and we used the manduca until DD was about 2! Is there a sling library near you? Worth going along to try out different styles.

evergreen that jumper is adorable!!

We had our 20 week scan this morning, having another little girl!

LondonGirl83 · 16/09/2016 13:41

ever that jumper is so cute! I wish I knew how to make stuff. A new craft store just opened up on my high street that apparently does lessons but between work, baby stuff, exercising, learning to drive, my volunteer work etc there is no realistic chance of me taking on anything else!

ragdoll yeah my back was pretty bad for a while but with lots of physio it only very rarely acts up. Last time was Thanksgiving last year. However, part of what motivates me to keep doing yoga and pilates is wanting to keep my back as strong as possible throughout pregnancy so I don't end up falling apart again.

Sparrowlegs248 · 16/09/2016 13:41

Thanks twocats they didn't send the sample for testing. My BP was normal, which is to say a little on the low side. Last time however I had very high BP at the end of pregnancy so will have to keep an eye on that. Mw on Monday so will check again.

LondonGirl83 · 16/09/2016 13:41

I can't remember if I said this but I really like the map one of you is buying for your DS's room. Very cute :)

Sparrowlegs248 · 16/09/2016 13:44

Also re carriers, I had a stretchy wrap, a Kari me which was OK but I should probably have got help with tying it, took me a while to get the hang of it. I also had a baby bjorn WE carrier
Bb get bad press for being too narrow and not supporting the baby's hips, but the we has a much wider Base.i used it a lot, for walking, shopping, housework, and mucking out ponies!

Mysterycat23 · 16/09/2016 14:32

Evergreen cute jumper! Will post pics of the cardigans I've been knitting when I get a minute at home :) pattern is called fuss free baby cardigan and it really is fuss free, easy to do while watching TV!

Shellbell0403 · 16/09/2016 14:50

ever what movements have u been feeling? I have had some random jolts etc but unsure what's it's supposed to be lol.. lovely jumper.. are u finding out what your having?

So yesterday I washed my windows and today Iv done some gardening... think Iv done to much

wispaxmas · 16/09/2016 15:01

For me it's not pram vs carrier, I found I needed both last time as DD would only tolerate a short period of time in either and if I wanted to do something for any length of time I had to switch back and forth between the two Confused

DottyA · 16/09/2016 15:24

Shell I've had some random jolt type feelings too, but no idea if that's the baby or just me overthinking....

Anyone else suffering from heartburn? It seems to have kicked in with a sudden vengeance now at 17 weeks. Wasn't expecting it so early!

Shellbell0403 · 16/09/2016 15:34

dotty yes to the indigestion, luckily it's kind of backed off slightly last few days! Gaviscon and refreshers! Lol..

ScottishSnowflake · 16/09/2016 16:16

Hello all!

Sorry I've been quiet lately - just got back from our delayed honeymoon. We had our 20week scan today and they confirmed that the lady at our 12 week scan was correct and we're having a little boy. I have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan as he was being a little darling (!) and refused to roll over so the full heart scans could be taken (although she saw enough to said there's nothing to worry about, it's just not clear enough for their records). My placenta however is low and so I'm on extra scans now to see if it moves or whether it'll be an elective c-section. More chance to see little one (although if it does move, the extra scans are cancelled). Got to buy the pushchair today - we got the silver cross pioneer as mothercare have them on special offer (free car seat) and as I'm 5.10, we found that system to be comfortable for me to push Smile a good day all round!

Really pleased to see everyone is doing well, hope those that are still feeling a little rough feel better soon

Shellbell0403 · 16/09/2016 16:30

scottish what's the offer in mothercare? That's the ones we are looking at also 😀

ScottishSnowflake · 16/09/2016 16:47

Hi Shell

This one:

www.mothercare.com/pushchairsbig-baby-event/?q=pioneer

It'll only show you one or two colours but if you search for silver cross pioneer just in pushchairs , you'll get a choice of all colours (although you only get the free car seat in black). We couldn't turn down a free £135 lol.

We ordered it in the lovely blue. Doesn't bother us having s black car seat. Offer's only on for another few days though.

Ragdollmum1985 · 16/09/2016 16:54

I'll look into the sling library and also the suggested slings thanks!

London I have been doing pregnant yoga from about 12 weeks so hopefully that will help. I was pretty active before pregnancy but had such a horrible first trimester that I've become a bit lazy Hmm
