Shell from literally everything people have said to me, this is now just the start of a lifetime of worry! But yeah, every appointment (even the boring midwife ones where it's just blood pressure and a pee test!) I'm like "this is definitely the one where there's going to be an issue"

I'll try and remember to take a bump pic later, to add to the ones already up!

kikisdelivery · 09/09/2016 09:02

Friendly we must be due date twins! Are you 9th Feb? Grin

FriendlyGhost · 09/09/2016 09:13

I am Kiki Grin

CeeCeeEnnEss · 09/09/2016 09:17

Better keep an eye on that, thanks blueskies. Is it do do with my core? I'm surprised because I've always had a strong core and glutes etc.

My bump gets way bigger by the evening kiki

Evergreen17 · 09/09/2016 09:20

Kikis yes and yes. Morning and evening bump change. Daily bump change.

Question: have you told colleagues yet? I have told all my managers now and HR and three colleagues who are friends. I kind of wanted to wait for 20w scan as again I am worried something will go wrong
But this is stupid I mean after that will I have to wait til next scan?!

So I am thinking I do it today because I am freaking exhausted and I have training with a small group today and I wee every 20 minutes.

Anyone?

Shellbell0403 · 09/09/2016 09:22

ever all my colleagues know! I done a fb announcement as had family and friends far away we wanted to tell and I have friends from work on there, easiest way for people to find out haha!
How are you feeling?

Kiki i suppose we better get ready for all the worrying haha

Shellbell0403 · 09/09/2016 09:27

Anyone any recommendations for a winter coat/jacket?

kikisdelivery · 09/09/2016 09:40

ever we sound so much alike with worries. It's really difficult not to wonder what's going on in there, even though there's no indication of things to worry about. This is all just so new and strange!

My colleagues knew since my 12 week scan. We're a relatively small self contained office of around 15 people, and there's another pregnant lady here a few weeks ahead of me who was talking a lot, so I just decided to join in once we had the scan. Added to that I'd stopped having coffee and so on because partly due to the caffeine and partly because I wasn't fancying it, which was suspect I'm sure!!

But it's so completely personal - you shouldn't feel like you have to tell certain folks if you're not ready yet. The only reason my outside work friends also know is becuase we generally used to only either see each other at the pub (so I needed to come clean!) or at roller derby (which I had to stop as it's a contact sport).

I just booked me and the OH on to our local NCT Shock. I've heard mixed stuff about them from attendees, but I think we'll give it a shot to see if we can make some local due date buddies. Even my midwife recommended them over the NHS classes. Plus someone said they often run some pretty decent nearly new sales of baby bits, so it seemed worth it overall!

FriendlyGhost · 09/09/2016 09:42

Evergreen I haven't yet because I'm just on a retainer basis with my company so do work from home as a consultant when they need me. I imagine I won't get paid so I I'm going to wait until I next speak to my boss. Probably after the 20 week scan.
Shell do you mean for you? I had a winter baby last time too and bought myself a cape. It was also useful for having dd in the sling afterwards. I'll probably wear that again. Jojo do maternity winter coats but unless it's really cold I'm not sure it's worth it.

DottyA · 09/09/2016 09:42

Yep, I look about a month further on in the evening than in the morning! Finally got an unmistakeable bump though, rather than just a lump of blubber.

Shell I really need a new winter coat but I think I'm just going to get something cheap from Primark/charity shop in a bigger size to get me through this year, and then get something nicer that fits properly next winter! A maternity coat seems like an indulgence given we haven't had a cold winter for years. I figure I can layer up with scarves if it won't do up towards the end. Or just not go out!

Shellbell0403 · 09/09/2016 09:55

Dotty and friendly I live in Scotland so we have very cold winters haha! I just bought a new winter jacket in Feb and it's not going to fit this year as fitted 🙈 lol.. til thinks I will do the same the now though dotty and just head to primark the now. It's starting to get abit cold and wet the now up here!

kikisdelivery · 09/09/2016 09:59

I got a new winter coat from the OH at christmas last year and like you, Shell, lo and behold it's fitted!

I have an old, old, old duffel style coat from Next which has adjustable side bits. I might need to dig it out and see if it's wearable! Otherwise, I'll be off to the charity shop for a large ladies/man's coat too!

SausageDogGeorge · 09/09/2016 10:33

shellbell I just got a black padded coat from Next for £50 which is in normal sizing and then for an extra £8 you buy a zip on panel to accommodate the bump which just zips on the front - really nice and the fact that it can be worn after the pregnancy is perfect! Smile

Shellbell0403 · 09/09/2016 10:42

Thanks sausagedog think I will go and have a nosey!

Kellz92 · 09/09/2016 11:08

My bump - I'm 18+5 weeks! Smile

Shellbell0403 · 09/09/2016 11:33

I'm so jealous!! Everyone seems to have much bigger bumps than me 😓 #worried

SausageDogGeorge · 09/09/2016 11:48

Dont worry at all Shellbell everyone is different! There was a lady at my yoga class last week who was 2 months further on than me and her bump was tiny - it really doesn't matter - just depends on body shape and how you are carrying. Your baby will just be snuggled up all cosy inside! Smile

SausageDogGeorge · 09/09/2016 11:50

oh and I think the coats are online only shellbell - I have the Next Directory and saw it in there but don't think they have the maternity range in store (unless maybe at really big stores?)

GinIsIn · 09/09/2016 12:02

I also have one of those no buttons blanket type coats from primark that I will wear open with a huge scarf. We are moving by the sea so with the wind chill a proper coat seemed important!

Kellz92 · 09/09/2016 13:01

Shell i was bigger before i got pregnant, i never showed as much this point with DD but i was massive by the end lol

xxx

Shellbell0403 · 09/09/2016 13:08

My wee bump 🙈😊

kikisdelivery · 09/09/2016 13:17

Shell I reckon you and me, and maybe CeeCee (purely going off one picture!) are all roughly the same. Here's my bump, it's basically not very much at the moment. But, I'm 5'10" with a BMI of 30 so am pretty curvy normally anyway. I know what you mean, it's difficult not to wonder if everything's growing as it should be, but hopefully at some point I'll pop out, feel like an elephant, and then regret ever moaning!

(apologies for the classy photo venue of my work loos, too... )
