chat I agree for slightly different reasons. You may have been the first person he had met who had had a still birth. He may be fully aware that he said the wrong thing and (a) feel awful about it and (b) need to talk through with someone experienced how to handle this situation better in future. If you put your comments to his supervisor in this way you are being constructive (so won't feel bad about saying something) and it leaves the door very open for him to tell you he is very sorry for what he meant. He may well have gone home last night thinking about what a prat he had been but not sure about whether to bring it up with you or not. And if he is just an insensitive little twerp his supervisor will know anyway and be able to educate him.

SharkBastard · 15/09/2016 07:00

Totally agree with everyone else that you were absolutely right to leave feedback with his supervisor about his comments. He could cause some serious damage if his conduct is not worked on. What a heartbreakingly insensitive thing to say hope you feel better today Chat

I'm off work again today, barely slept last night which means the nausea is magnified by 20! It's just horrible constantly feeling like poo. I'm 8+4 so still weeks to go before the cloud lifts.

ChatEnOeuf · 15/09/2016 08:02

Thanks, ladies. Glad I'm not obviously over-reacting. I never know nowadays...I hope he's had a bit of an 'oh shit' moment after I'd gone. I know I've had a few of those! Much better being oblivious than being insensitive. That's how I'm going to present it - not complaining, just trying to improve his skills.

LuchiMangsho · 15/09/2016 10:54

Hi ladies. Scan went well. Measuring 10 weeks. And erm, there is no twin. Nada. And all is okay. My booking in appointment and 12w scan has come through as well.

SharkBastard · 15/09/2016 10:56

Glad the scan went well Luchi...you've had a very strange few days haven't you? Did they mention anything about the twin thing?

choccybiscuit · 15/09/2016 11:39

Great news luchi glad all is well Smile

LuchiMangsho · 15/09/2016 11:39

Erm no. Even I could see there was nothing else there. I cannot tell you how bizarre it was. But the lady doing the scan was a consultant obstetrician and she was very very thorough. Also my cyst is stable. And yes, what a strange fortnight I have had...

Number4OnTheWay · 15/09/2016 11:40

That's all very odd luchi. Did they say anything about it?
Chat I had similar with a midwife once, but rather than making a complaint I moved dr surgeries so I wouldn't have to deal with her, except after baby was born she was the one who came out Blush
Definitely suggest you make a gentle complaint.

LuchiMangsho · 15/09/2016 11:44

The husband is away on work in Canada. He is driving himself to an outlet store today and told me he's buying a suitcase to celebrate. What a weird man I have been with for 13 years!

Number4OnTheWay · 15/09/2016 11:53

Haha what he means is, I want a new suitcase and this is the perfect excuse!

Esker · 15/09/2016 12:09

Wonderful news on your healthy scan Luchi. Such a shame you had to have all that uncertainty though. I wonder what on earth that first sonographer has has been saying to confuse other pregnant ladies Confused

Esker · 15/09/2016 12:11

How are people doing, bump wise?
My stomach is SO noticeable now. I really don't think it will be long before my pupils are asking me outright!

Also confused as I haven't actually gained weight, so how is the bump accounted for? I would understand if the rest of my body had magically become slimmer, but unfortunately my podgy arms are exactly the same!

LuchiMangsho · 15/09/2016 12:22

My body clearly remembers being pregnant. I have a little round tummy. I can't remember when I needed maternity wear last time, but I am determined to last the first trimester at least.
We have a school mums night out- I suspect my not drinking might be noticed!

Helbelle75 · 15/09/2016 12:35

I feel like my body shape's changed, but I've not gained any weight!
Booked in for a private scan on Saturday. I'll be 10 weeks. Excited, but very nervous that things might not be right.

abeandhalo · 15/09/2016 12:49

Apart from the fact I have to eat v regularly, my nausea is SO much better today & yesterday. I actually feel excited to just feel normal and not sick, it has been present virtually 100% of the time for the last 6-7 weeks. Still feel v fussy about my food but definitely going in the right direction.

Daisy111 · 15/09/2016 13:25

Abe I am the same. At 9 weeks, my sickness almost completely went - I'm still a bit fussy on food, but I feel 90% normal, which is such a relief. Hope those of you still suffering feel better soon.

MumiTravels · 15/09/2016 14:34

Hello Ladies. I've not gone AWOL just a busy few days before a whole weekend in work starts tomorrow. I'll be dead on my feet by Sunday night.

I'm pleased there have been more healthy scan results BrewCake. DH will come to the scans but not random appointments. My antenatal clinic doesn't allow children so I may even have to miss some appointments myself!! It's hard getting childcare for 1 hour on a Wednesday morning.

I'm having a bit of a 'mare. Booked our holiday for November before knew about pregnancy and we are going to South East Asia before going onto Australia. Zika has hit Singapore and a few cases elsewhere. The countries without Zika are the one's we didn't plan on visiting. Only booked one internal flight so far and one hotel but now at a loss of where to go for the rest of our holiday. May extend the Australia leg but it makes for an expensive trip. We wanted to take DS to legoland in Malaysia but it meant transiting though Singapore. Arghh.
Cambodia is safe but not sure how much I'd enjoying trudging around the Angkor Wat at 17 weeks pregnant. Another night of holiday planning ahead. If it wasn't that we had a wedding to go to in Australia I would have knocked it on the head.

Going to view a house today as we need to move ideally before new baby is born which is a pain as we haven't long moved into this one Envy

I didn't really use maternity clothes last time. Still wore my jeans until about 30 weeks then wore leggings and kimono blouses. I've got lots of swing dresses for with tights this time. Not maternity range just in next size up.

MrsRhubarb · 15/09/2016 14:53

We're going to look around a nursery for DD tomorrow morning, she is stupidly excited at the thought of going to nursery. I just hope I can get through it without being sick. Haven't been sick so far today, which is amazing, although I have been horribly nauseaous. And I've eaten a whole banana and a slice of marmite on toast, woohoo! Making the most of lack of vomit to really catch up on housework (such fun) but the house is looking more presentable than it has for weeks which makes me feel good.

I've lost a stone now though sickness, which is quite dramatic. I certainly don't look pregnant yet, though. Last time I didn't switch to maternity anything until about 7 months, and even then it was just some black trousers for work (which were the comfiest things ever) and two pairs of maternity jeans. Normal but slightly looser fitting tops and next size up tshirts were fine.

Daisy111 · 15/09/2016 15:40

I don't really have a bump yet, but the bloat is noticeable after eating, so by evening I look preggers. My sister has taken the opportunity to clear out her maternity wardrobe, so I now have about 20 tops and dresses which I don't really need yet! The only thing I do feel like I need is maternity trousers, as waistbands on jeans or leggings are a bit uncomfortable. Will invest before too long.

IAmALionTamer · 15/09/2016 16:08

Had my booking appointment this afternoon. It was with the community midwife from my pregnancy with DS and it was so lovely to see her. More like catching up with an old friend than a medics appointment.
Feeling very excited now, can't wait for my scan date to come through Smile

Niks2026 · 15/09/2016 16:45

I didn't wear maternity clothes at all with my first DD and only had a couple of pairs of maternity trousers with dd2. I feel like I need them already this time around. I'm very bloated. I'm pretty sure I've lost weight though as my appetite has disappeared and I've completely gone off chocolate!
I'm thinking of getting a private scan done but not sure how to go about it, Google local facilities?? I had early scans with my girls, one I needed a dating scan and the other I had bleeding so my GP sent me for one. I don't think I can wait another 4/5 weeks for a scan. I'm having lots of weird crampy pains and spotting on and off and I need some piece of mind.

SussexTeacher · 15/09/2016 17:18

Hi ladies,

If this is any consolation.... I had awful nausea, all day every day from about 6 weeks onwards. I'm now about to start trimester 2 and honestly feel like myself again. No sickness. Nothing. Bit more tired but I don't have that sick feeling anymore.

I didn't think it would end but it seems to have! So I hope it does for you guys that are struggling too x

Daisy111 · 15/09/2016 17:23

Hi Niks
Yes, I just googled local services and then checked reviews. I went with baby bond aka ultrasound direct and they were very good. I think they have clinics all over.

SharkBastard · 15/09/2016 17:26

Wish I was nearer the 2nd trimester purely for the fact I'm really sick of feeling poo ALL THE TIME. It really gets me down. Also, I've been watching Mistresses and both women who were pregnant never got a sniff of sickness meh

Moaning a lot lately, poor DH ;(

Niks2026 · 15/09/2016 17:59

Thanks daisy I've gone with first view imaging. I've booked it for Monday 26th September and according to dr dates I'll be 8+6 but by lmp 9+3. Cannot wait to see my little poppy seed, get some confirmation that everything's fine and get a definite expected due date. I'm so nervous though because of all the weird cramps and pains I've been feeling.
This is my 3rd baby and in my daughters pregnancies I didn't suffer with nausea at all! This time round it's like it's hit 3X as hard.
