capatian ippy - well done! another girl racer for the roads. cyber pink fluffy dice on thir way to you.

ta bugmum - i thik he has come round a bit this morning tho' nervous giggles have set in..

nuttygirl - hope you get the christening sorted. i have been asked to be a godmum but have had to say no as i was never christened / baptised. kinda glad not to have to take on the responsibility for that spiritual guidance. we are considering a naming ceremony for this LO - but think it may be too much hassle getting our families togeterh fro the first time ever!

CONGRATULATIONS CD

1B3 - its me CornflakeKid, BBCK and sparkly all rolled into one - I'm on a countdown! Good to have you back - 36 weeks would be really great for you if you could make it that far - isn't 34 weeks average for twins or is that a useless piece of info have managed to get into head? Oooggs was on not long ago - her twins are measuring big for dates and think they were about 3lbs already

weeonion - my dh didn't want to go to our NCT classes either with my first and I made him go - met some really nice people and made some very good friends - the week we did breastfeeding he was the only bloke who turned up and thought it was hilarious - he kept guffawing really loudly at things the antenatal teacher was saying - was soooo embarassed

Have been a domestic goddess - made shperherds pie for tonight and beef burgundy for tomorrow night

One slight hiccup to plans is that my mum has just rung to say she has to come and stay for a few days NOW (not tomorrow or next week but was about to get in car ) Think she may have had argument with my dad ... will ring him when she may have left and find out what has happened. Quite happy for her to visit - just that am working thursday/friday so not around - but atleast the boys will get to spend some time with her. I will ring my sister too and she if she knows anything.... my parents haven't really got on well for years - just kind of live alongside eachother and have odd argument about things like hoovering and who forgot to get milk etc. My mum can be quite irritating and my dad very stubborn - so should be a fun week - quite glad am going to work actually!

11weeksandcounting · 30/01/2007 13:46

Ah - it seems my dad has been driving her a bit nuts and she has decided she needs to get away.

weeonion · 30/01/2007 13:49

11 weeks - thoughts are with yu. you will have to provide a listening ear and big shoulder i presume??

hotlipsmummy · 30/01/2007 13:53

hello ladies - goodness lots to catch up on since last night!

MIABT - so sorry about your dog, I would be the same about either of our cats. I know your ds is still a little young but one of the "good" things about pets is that it teaches kids about death etc. Thinking of you and hoping all will be ok.

CD - HURRAY, congrats etc etc. Brill that you can drive now! We have a big estate car too (bought just before xmas) and I'm still not used to the new dimensions - parking on our 1 way street is a NIGHTMARE so I don't drive that much during the week as DH isn't around to park it for me

WO - agree you must go to the nct classes. I still see some of the girls from mine on Tuesday afternoons (whoever is around) and we are having a girls night out tonight. The boys didn't bond that well but its about having people to moan to/support each other/compare notes with etc in the first few weeks. Cannot stress enough how much you will need people like that!

Nuttygirl - when we had DS christened it turned out his godmum hasn't been christened herself. 1 of the other godparents for another little boy being done at the same time isn't even christian and the vicar said its about the godparent feeling comfortable making the promises before God and he was happy for the godparent concerned not to say anything/not stand at the front etc. Good that the vicar recognised that there are lots of factors in choosing godparents not just how religious they are! Anyway DS's godmum was more than happy and comfortable with what she was asked to say so no problems!

Phew long post! Been out most of the morning at the park. DS loves chasing pigeons... we were supposed to go to a music thing but got asked to leave because of the pos even tho the spots have all scabbed over now. Very .

Anyway must log on to web to pay parking ticket...

I have just been doing a load of baby shopping, (on the net of course)
Went a bit mad on kiddiecare.com.

I decided that becaue I have been working so hard recently that I would indulge and buy one of my luxury items, ready for this.............................
A £72 baby changing bag!!!!!

I think it will be my little secret from DH, and the rest of the world

I really want to buy 2 buggy snuggles, a cow print one and a red one with white stars but I don't have a buggy for the DT's so there isn't really any point.

Still don't know what the hell I am going to do for a buggy yet, I haven't seen anything that I like and that is suitable from birth.

11weeksandcounting · 30/01/2007 14:02

1B3 ah well - you are having two so you are fully justified! Two buggysnuggles is a must! I loved my double nipper - it was great to push/lift etc

geordiemacminx · 30/01/2007 14:04

I was going to buy the cowprint snuggle too.. my only thought.. and I might be wrong as a first timer but if our babies are born in April/May wont ift be a bit too hot for snuggle things? They look a bit like snow suits to me?

Katy44 · 30/01/2007 14:08

Hello everyone,
MIABT, so sorry to hear about your mum's dog. My parents had two (one before I was born until I was 15) and although I really want one, remembering how upset we all were when they died puts me off.
CD- well done!
Thanks to everyone who answered my 6 hours question - so I am expecting too much then? For some reason I just thought it all happened a lot faster than that! What do you do in those 6 hours? (What if you need the toilet? ) When would you usually go home after an uncomplicated birth?
weeonion - I'll pay half and come to your NCT classes with you! There aren't any in the Durham area at the moment Also was too late for the Sure Start ones, so am just going to the NHS ones.

I have a lambskin for my pushchair but would like a buggy snuggle for next winter... like the blue stripe one

1becomes3 · 30/01/2007 14:17

GMM-that's quite funny your worried that it might be to warm, what in this country?
I think they last for a while anyway so you can use it after the Ummmm summer?
I will have to look into the age range on them.

I really have to have a look into prams, any ideas? This is what I am after:
1 in front of the other
Suitable from birth
that is compatable with the buggy pod

geordiemacminx · 30/01/2007 14:22

I worry about everything!!! And if I havent got anything to worry about then I worry even more!!!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 30/01/2007 14:27

GMM, pmsl! I know what you mean. It feels like we should be worrying and panicing doesn't it!

1b3, have you looked at the Mumsnet reviews to see if there is any feedback on buggies/pushchairs that fit your criteria?

I could ask my cousin and see what she had, as she has twins (now 2.5).

weeonion · 30/01/2007 14:29

GMM - now i'm worrying about you worrying ........ when is yr nct weekend??

Vio · 30/01/2007 14:31

Hi everyohe, new on this thread cos think last time i posted on the april thread was probably in Sep or Oct .

GMM...i've got M & P furniture range as well, got the Omni one i think, when i bought it from the pram centre before xmas, didn't come with a free mattress so we paid for it, think we've got the spring interior mattress which seems good.

geordiemacminx · 30/01/2007 14:37

It was supposed to be this weekend but in the end we decided not to book... too much going on, plus its liverpool v everton on sunday.. we definately should have gone halves and gone together!!!

And dont you be worrying about me worrying... its all daft stuff that I worry about... like colour coordinating pram blankets and such like!!!

Still havent made our minds up on a car yet either!!!

Another quick poll... is anyone else superstitious about having pram in the house before baby is born or is that just me? [gri]

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 30/01/2007 14:40

1b3, have you looked at www.twinsclub.co.uk

They have a Twins Products page where you might be able to find what you are looking for. x

1becomes3 · 30/01/2007 15:01

Have I looked at twins club................. I have brought half the crap on there, including the podee hands free feeding system, no idea if it works or if it is any good but I have one!
Been going a bit crazy with the nesting recently.
TBH I haven't really looked that much into prams I just want some one to do all the work for me

1becomes3 · 30/01/2007 15:03

Woops not twins club, twins things.

Katy44 · 30/01/2007 15:14

Is anyone going to tell me what I do in my 6 hours? Sleep or sudoku (with new baby of course)?
