New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

OP posts:

Callie fab news, hope you can breathe a little easier now.
Don't worry about exercise, I'm sure the stress and worry is working your body 100x more than any gym routine could.
Hope Jordi is stronger and hungrier next time you see him :

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 17:52

Diva I'll get myself some of that tea then! That's one purchase decision made at least. Now there's just dummies, swaddling wraps, thermometer, expressing pump, baby monitor..........

Yes I was thinking about Rainbowgirl the other day, has anyone heard anything?

Foxy getting up to go the loo most certainly counts. As does lifting chocolate to your mouth.

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 17:53

Xposts Callie / Piffle will reply properly tomorrow morning have to go home in five mins XXXX

LaidbackinEngland · 01/02/2007 17:54

Hello ! Happy Birthday to Leo and Callie (belated) ... internet has been difficult for a few days. CALLIE - sounds like the news about Jordi could be positive, keep us posted.

Bethoo - I am sure rainbowgirl lives near you somewhere - maybe dorset - I wish she would come on here and let us know she is OK - she sounded like a really great and strong woman. We are all staying with my mum at the moment - It is all going suprisingly well - apart from the odd snide comment - which I just ignore (la, la, la)

Foxy - my son has unearthed some more DR Who cards - I will email you with the numbers if your son wants to do some more swaps !!

Kitty - maybe when I am a bit more sorted here, we should meet up - we can only be about 10 miles away ??

Moss/Amie - you both always sounds like you - (or your man Mossy) are cooking up something nice at home.... wish I lived closer to you.

Where is boo today ? Who is going to be the next to have their baby ... I reckon Boo could be next [witchy emoticon]?

Hi to everyone else !!

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 18:00

Right have just written a really sh*t advert in order to spend my last five minutes on here instead of writing that!!!

Callie that is such good news about Jordi I bet you are so relieved!!! You are welcome to move next door to me in my fairy house. It's terraced of course, but there's parking for the unicorn in the alley round the back!!!

Piffle 75 pillows! Sounds a bit "princess and the pea" to me... are you sure you're not living in fairy land with us two, too???

Laidback it's mil cooking tonight, can't wait! I am great at doing dishes though! You'd be welcome to come round any time if you lived close of course! (I am learning to cook but it's a slow process.)

Right hometime now see y'all tomorrow!!

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 18:41

Callie, that's really great news, you must be thrilled. Do post a picture of him when you get the chance, I'd love to see him

Laidback, it would be lovely to meet up. Where abouts are you?

If I haven't said happy birthday to Callie and Leo HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I'm knackered today, Braxton Hicks are now starting to get 'uncomfortable' I find towards the very end they are good for breathing practice they are that strong, oops here's another now. Think I've been overdoing it today

divastrop · 01/02/2007 19:57

callie-thats great news about jordi.welcome to motherhood indeed, usually the first time you know for a fact you would genuinley lay down your life for another human being

kitty-i am finding bh's painful now.im having to stop and take afew deep breaths when i get them.its a good job i didnt get them this bad with ds1 or i'd have been at the hospital convinced i was in labour about 5 times a day.

leo-happy belated birthday!sorry,i missed that somehow also.

i dont know if its the antibiotics kicking in already but i feel really spaced out now(as opposed to the physical tiredness i was feeling before).plus i feel really and dont think that men should be allowed to get in bad moods when their partners are heavily pregnant.i think dp should be waiting on me and taking my verbal abuse with gentle good humour rather than expecting me to just carry on as normal and actually ask him if i want him to do anything
he cant see why im being such a moany arse when ive only got 5 weeks to go.doesnt he realise that by this point every day lasts a week??

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 20:32

Shouted at DH again tonight as he is being unbelievably useless. I spent hours researching employment law for him, then typed this fab letter to his HR dept (won't bore you with the details). I e-mailed it to him and said three times "read it and give us a call back if it needs changing".

He didn't call.

When I arrive home tonight he announces it needs to be changed!!!

The point is it needs to be sent tomorrow a.m.

I told him to feck off in a very big voice. Sorry to go on but he's completely bloody incapable

Callie - I'm so glad Jordi is improving. He sounds as though he's really on the last lap now before he can come out and come home Have they given you any timescale for when that's likely to happen or are they taking it day by day?

Mossy - I agree about the effort needed to lift chocolate . Also, uncorking wine can be pretty strenuous too don't you find?

Laidback - yes to the Dr Who cards (of course ), DS has about 200 doubles . Please feel free to list any doubles your DS has and ones he wants.

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 20:48

Diva, it must be something to do with our over stretched wombs. Perhaps they're limbering up big time so that when we pop the babies will shoot out out effortlessly and at great speed .

Foxy, have a drink

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 20:56

Funny I was just thinking I could do with a glass of wine !!

Re the stretched wombs - perhaps why I'm getting BH this time but didn't with DS and DD?? I somehow associate strong BH with shorter labours, but that may well be a load of codswallop

divastrop · 01/02/2007 21:00

yes.on febuary 28th

i dont get why it took 40 minutes each to push my last 2 babies out when i must have a fanjo like a bucket by now.as that was the only bit that actually hurt,i would quite like this one to fall out effortlessly

eidsvold · 01/02/2007 21:39

ahem Moss - some of us aren't even in England!

strangely I am getting BH with this one and never got them with the other two.

COunting the weeks.

THis time in 7 weeks ( my time) I will probably be in surgery having my c-section.... can't wait. THink this baby has a huge head like dd2 and it seems to like nothing more than grinding right down in my pelvis - bloody painful!!

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 21:46

Diva, that doesn't make sense does it. I pushed dd3 out in 2 mins . Obviously I am more cavernous than you

Eids my dds have whopping heads too AND they come out with arms/hand by their faces . It's not funny is it? t must be good for you to know the date, that way you can get ready.

Foxy, my Braxton Hicks get stronger with each preg and the labours get faster too.. By the end of 3 weeks over in the last preg they would keep me up all night, regularly 10 mins apart and were painful.

Rosylily · 01/02/2007 21:46

Callie very glad it sounds like things are ok with Jordi. When I had ds1 it hit me that I would die for him and also that if anyone tried to hurt him I would be prepared to kill them

My mw appointment today was reassuringly uneventful. Head is down but not engaged, I measured 34 for 34 weeks 5 days, blood pressure fine.
I asked about what they do about strep b. She asked if I'd been living in England and was I a nurse? anyway she said if I came in with waters broken they would take a swab and if I wanted her to she would test me. So I meekly said I'd leave it for now. I felt about 12 in there today.

Then I trekked the kids up the town and into tkmax and bought a fabby dressing gown in the clearance sale reduced from £170 to £9 anyway by the time I got home I was a wreck. so now I'm sitting in my new dressing gown and going to bed very soon.

eidsvold · 01/02/2007 21:47

oh kitty - dd2's head was off the charts - so much that they kept monitoring it to make sure all was well...... so glad I had a c-section - cannot imagine pushing her out.

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 21:50

Rosy, good bargain, glad everything was uneventful, that's what we like

Eids, makes my eyes water (ouch)

divastrop · 01/02/2007 21:53

i pushed dd1 out in less than 10 mins...well,her head anyway(shoulders took a while longer).maybe it has something to do with how long between each baby?or maybe its just cos dd1 was ready to be born whereas the other 3 were quite happy where they were and took longer as a sort of protest

DollyPopsOut · 02/02/2007 06:31

Morning ladies. Been awake since 4.30 so thought I would come down and catch up with you all rather than listen to DH / DD snuffling away upstairs.

Eidsvold - I'll be 39 weeks on the day of the CS. Thanks for this tips- very useful. The only bit which I am worried about is the spinal. Last time when I had my epidural, I was climbing the wall with pain and could have had the injection in my eyeball if it would have helped. Feel a bit anxious about going into the spinal without being in agony. Is it ok? I don't normally mind injections etc, but just feel a bit weird about it.

Moss - if I wandered round in my bra and knicks I'd put people off their lunch. I am very impressed at the mention on no 2 - you are very brave already!!

Leo - I ate TONS of pineapple with DD when I was overdue and not so much as a twinge. Maybe it only works if things are going to happen anyway. Still, it's better for you than the 4 ferrero rochers I have just had for my breakfast .

Bethoo - glad your dad is being supportive. Hang on in there.

Morocco - I am mad as a box of frogs at the moment. I really do feel as though I am losing the plot at times. I also agree about not feeling very sociable. There are only a few people whose company I want ATM and I am quite happy to stay in most nights and just potter around. I suppose it's good practice for when I have the baby .

Sazzy - sorry you are having to hold the family together. It's hard being the coper, isn't it? Hang on in there and make sure you use this thread for support . Sending you a rvirtual hug. BTW, where in N London are you? I am south london myself (Dulwich) but know Crouch End / Muswell hill area quite well.

Foxy - men! Grrr! Sounds like me DH. Doesn't understand the meaning of urgency. I feel like his mother sometimes rather than his wife as I badger him to do XYZ.

TOday is shaping up to be quiet. I foresee park action, lunch at pizza express with the girls, sleep then bit of painting with DD. AM meeting a very old friend tonight so will take DD to DH's work so that I can get out and about by 8. If he comes home and then I go out I can't be in town til 9. Hope today goes well for you all XXXXX

eidsvold · 02/02/2007 06:42

i am a big wuss - make that a mega wuss when it comes to needles and originally the thought of a spinal made me physically ill. When I had dd1 - she had to be born and I guess being in shock I really did not worry about it iyswim - too much else to take in. When it came to dd2 - I found surprisingly I was very calm about it even though my horror at needles had not abated.

I think they are so professional - well the two surgical teams I have had so far - that I was so relaxed and okay about everything as well as excited to see dd2 and worried about dd1 that I really did not feel it. They definitely went to great lengths to see that it had worked properly before they started cutting also.

I can still remember the warm feeling that came over me when they put it in the second time.

3rdTriMossTer · 02/02/2007 06:43

You know Eids I am not joking, I woke up in the middle of the night for one of my "loo" trips and I thought, "hang on, not everyone is evein in the UK!"

I'm such a dozy mare!

Dolly dh and I were talking about when was the best time to have number two and we think either, really close together, or, when dc1 is in school. I am thinking really close together 'cos really I'd like more than two but I ain't letting him know that not just yet! We'll just have to see how this one goes!!

Rosy, from £170 to £9!!! Which shop was that!?

Foxy sorry your dh is being a bit rubbish, I wonder why he doesn't get the urgency? Or is he just one of those really laid back people?

Diva I think your dp should be waiting on you hand and foot - get him told!!!

Kitty I hope your bh aren't too painful and you find time to have a lie down and a rest.

Ah, nineteen working days to go until maternity leave..... and it's a Friday.... so I'm gonna take it easy in work today and will probably spend most of my time here!

DollyPopsOut · 02/02/2007 07:04

Thanks Eids - am bizarrely worried about them doing it with me sitting up as I lay down for the epidural last time. That is totally irrational of course but I suppose it's worth mentioning. I am very excited most of the time, but now and then just think of the strange sensation and panic!!

Moss - I will have 23 months between DD1 and DD2 so I'll let you know how I get on. DD1 is great but a bit of a handful so it could be interesting! It's people born on 4th April, doncha know . Only 19 days left - you lucky, lucky thing! I can't remember how many I have left but just know it's TOO MANY!!

Still, no work for me today. Hurray! . Hope your day goes well.

sexkittyinwaiting · 02/02/2007 07:20

Dolly, when I had a spinal for my elective section a consultant friend of mind said the best way to make the procedure as comfy as possible was to really relax my body. He said it would be much easier for them to get the needle in. That's what I did and it was all very calm and relaxed and not painful.
It was a totally different experience from having an epidural when I was in screaming agongy with ds1 and they have to try and do it between contractions or you get a contraction half way through the needle going in and are not allowed so much as a muscle twitch, not nice.

eidsvold · 02/02/2007 07:48

from memory the first time I was sitting up dh was sitting in front of me holding my hands...

second time it was the surgeon just chatting to me - very calm.

BTW - some relief here - rain and much cooler - humidity gone!!! yeh!!!

Rosylily · 02/02/2007 09:07

Must admit I hate the idea of the epidural and always specifically say I don't want one! My sister has a thing about needles and when she had the drip in for being induced she couldn't look at her hand so she hung it over the bed out of site and it went all swollen like a football
But I suppose when you want your baby delivered safely you just have to get on with it somehow! Who'd be a woman!

Moss it was tkmax so they wouldn't have been selling it at £170 originally, it says emanuel ungaro on the label must be someone fancy there was a fantastic clearance rail though and I got some things for my sisters birthday too. Of course the dressing gown wouldn't be everyones taste...its like a giraffe pattern in turquoise and deep red...very loud with a big hood

Anyway I really do live in faery land here! No one cuts down hawthorn bushes here, they aren't sweet and pretty you know, they are a little bit evil so you have to keep in with them
My brain is a frazzle today, I feel so slow in everyway.

sexkittyinwaiting · 02/02/2007 09:10

I've got alot of round ligament pain today. Do you think that means the little chap is growing ?

I quite like needles

Been up since three with various combinations of naughty dd's.
