OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Rosylily · 01/02/2007 13:10

I'm going up and down loads of stairs everyday that is my total keep fit regime!

Diva I have been having mild headaches too and think its my sinuses. Hopefully your antibiotics will do the trick.

Kiwi I'm also taking both my little rascals with me to the mw shortly...should be fun eh?

bethoo · 01/02/2007 13:14

Kiwi - do not forgetthe toast smothered with butter/marg! mind you i would notsay no to a large bowl of home made lasagne! something i have not had in ages!

Pregnant again? heckers i need to find a sperm donor for that!

i find i am irrational and no one can understand my actions these days! one minute i am nice the next i am being a bitch though inmy own mind i am being rational! typical blokes do not relise it is the hormones and i am not usually a cow though it seems you get further in this dog eat dog world if you are selfish. yes i have learnt the hard way these past few weeks! anyway i seem permanently confused!

I am not going to take anything to speed on labour until i get stuff to put him in! though the sex bit would not go amiss!

Sazzy - why do you choose to be alone? it is nice, it is just the nights that get me down having nothing but a pair of bed hogs who fart and burp in my face all night then get up early hours to vomit in the kitchen! do not know what is up with the pair of them at the mo but they are booked in for the vets! boxers have so many health issues thank goodness they are insured! bless them! Zeus sees himslef as the man of the house since he insists on sleeping under the duvet (they both do and occasionally a cat!) with his head on the pillow opposite mine!

Sazzy - where are you from?

i live in Wiltshire near Salisbury if anyone is in the area! this is the time i wish i could bloody drive!!

the two antenatal classes (parentcraft as they are known these days!) consisted of talking about labour, no bballs and breathing techniques as they teach these on the day! and the second session was about breast feeding!

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 13:14

I've got a hideously expensive gym membership which I 've hardly used this last month. I'd got a special preg programme to follow, but now I'm so paranoid about the shrinkig baby that I fear any over exertion will make it disappear altogether
Anyway a good stint in ASDA this A.M. has about finished me off. Given me loads of Braxton Hicks and I couldn't carry dd3 (13 months) up for her sleep. Mind you, she's so heavy. It's a man's job now .
Got the 3 knickers for £1 , 4 packs, bargain . Got loads of baby boy clothes from a friend yesterday, got mat towels, normal san towels, nappies, wipes, cotton wool, care mats for the bed. All the rest I've aleady got. All I have to do now is put out the baby clothes, pack a hospital bag in case I have to go there and I'm away.
I've been listening to my new hypnotherapy cd which I think will REALLY help this time. It advises against having the birth filmed, ah well, that's where I went wrong last time then

bethoo · 01/02/2007 13:20

sexykitty - i am the same, keep thinking that i will make the baby smaller but that is silly! i do worry about over heating and try not to get my pulse rate too high so mostly pedal on a bike for half an hour then either cross trainer or stepper for about 10 minutes. then leg lunges and a few arm weights if not too paraniod about bump poking out! mind you i have to stop to pee several times!
any exercise is better than nothing and walking is one of the best forms of exercise during pregnancy so we are all doing well.

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 14:04

Does lifting the remote control up and down count as excercise then?

sazzybee · 01/02/2007 14:12

'Sazzy - walk or gym every day???? '

I know! That's what she said. Everyone looked at their shoes at that point. This has been my opportunity to cancel the gym membership and lie on the sofa! And yes - lifting the remote is excellent training I reckon.

Once I've finished work I will start going swimming but right now I'm so knackered by the time I get home I just don't have the energy

bethoo - I had a sperm donor because I couldn't find a suitable man so I thought I'd better go it alone as time is running out for me (just turned 43). But I have my kitties to keep me warm . I'm in North London so not that close to you but I suppose it's the right end of the country.

AmieR · 01/02/2007 14:34

Finally MN has works for me today!

Bethoo - Hope you can sort something with some housing.

Diva - I hope the antibiotics sort out you aching head. Can't be fun at this stage.

Not a big fan of pineapple in any form so I should be safe, but I am a bit of a curry monster.

Getting lots of period type pains today, not very enjoyable I can tell you!

Off the see the MW at 3 thirty.. guessing now I've got to go to hospital in a few weeks will probably be the last time I see her at the surgery.

Gonna ask her what will happen if when I go to the hospital for my next scan and LO is still small.

Oh and parentcraft lesson tonight.. should be interesting?

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 14:37

Amie, good luck with the MW,

bethoo · 01/02/2007 14:41

AmieR - i am getting period cramps alot too, maybe braxton hicks?
do not worry about scan, my thoughts are with you and let us know how you got on.xxx
Sazzybee - though i was with my boyf for a year my dad referes to him as sperm donor as that was the only good thing he did! hopefully my son will inherit the high cheekbones, slim body anf black hair from his father (italian heritage) but sods law he will inherit my bum chin and fat ankles!
was it easy gettign sperm donor ie all the paper work and checks etc?

sexkittyinwaiting · 01/02/2007 14:52

Betho, Braxton Hicks feel different. They are like a tightening band that goes across you tum and your tum goes hard. They tighten for about 30 secs at a time. It's not really a cramping sensation.

bethoo · 01/02/2007 15:06

sexykitty - in that case should i be concerned? i know i am on iron tablets but i am forever forgetting to take them so it is not iron pill related. i get them throughout the day. maybe i am confusing cramps with tightening? my tummy is solid all the time as it is all baby.

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 15:27

Sazzy - I'm 43 too, so welcome to the club!!

Aime - hope your appointment goes well

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 15:56

Diva did you find the raspberry leaf stuff did help?

Bethoo I get cramps like stitch, at the bottom of my bump, I think mine are just muscles stretching. I have heard some people say that BH can hurt sometimes?

Sazzy I can't believe that about walking or gym every day! I walk to our local train station each morning, and back in the evening. Should take ten mins. Takes twenty. So that's 40 mins a day. I think that's pretty good!

Used to walk from the train station to work as well but now I go on the underground train instead. Takes just as long (escalators etc.) but not as strenuous!

AmieR how was the mw appointment? Also, did you go with the risotto or the Chinese in the end?

Mmmmmm that reminds me mil is cooking tea tonight and we're having beef, it's been marinating for 24 hours and will be slow cooked in a red wine sauce and served with buttered tagliatelle. Mmmmmmm!!!!

Kitty - ah, the joys of the Asda - it's about the nearest I get to going out properly atm!

AmieR · 01/02/2007 16:10

These period pain type sensations are a different thing to what I call my BH.. but I don't know which is which.. what I'm calling my BH are an immense feeling of fullness and a rock hard top of bump. The pains are where I usualy get my period pains, ovary type areas I guess. My BH type things are just uncomfortable at the moment.

MW appointment went OK, BP up from lsat time I saw consultant, but better than when I saw her last. Pee was fine.

Heard heart beat again, when the trainee was putting the sensor/mic type thing on LO, Pele (DH's nick name for LO) Shoved her off! We were in stitches.. this happened 3 times!

I asked the question that had been on my mind.. What if Pele is still small or not grown all that much when I go on the 15th... basically she said... they'd induce you. At about 38-39 weeks.... so.. I could be a Feb birth.

COME ON PELE... GROW SOME FOR MUM!

Breathes

EDD 1/3
Surprise Pele
36 weeks today!

AmieR · 01/02/2007 16:22

Mossy - Sorry... we had chinese last night! I've got a jamabalaya type dish on the go slow cooking at the moment for tonight!

bethoo · 01/02/2007 16:24

Moss - maybe they are bh as it has been so long since i last had a period! i know i get quite bad pains on a morning which could be ligament pain caused by fidgeting in bed as find it hard to get comfy!
when i feel my tummy it is hard with bits poking out, still cant tell the difference between bum, elbow or knee! though i know he is head down! should he be engaging yet as this is my first and at almost 36 weeks i would have thought he was going that way!
Amie - Pele probably slowed down, you may find he may have a sudden growth spurt before you see mw! i was always measuring small until 35 week scan and it was hard to think that that thing was in there as could not fit it all on the screen like the 20 week scan!

think i will give the gym a miss tonight and just take dogs out as seeing the exes mother today to drop off some baby stuff. cant wait!

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 16:40

Amie, glad the appt went okay, hey he might be little, but he's certainly strong, how funny with him kicking away the microphone!

Bethoo I have taken to walking the dogs at weekend only, and dh does it during the week. Have to admit, my walks with them get shorter and shorter each weekend.

I wonder if I could train them to walk each other?

AmieR · 01/02/2007 16:56

Mossy - don't you start calling LO a he too!!! everyone does... LOL my step dad calls bump Fred!

I'm still convinvced it's a female!

3rdTriMossTer · 01/02/2007 17:01

Sorry, sorry, sorry it was 'cos you called your bump Pele and Pele was a bloke!

How about Pelie?

AmieR · 01/02/2007 17:05

lol, Its OK I was messing! That's what DH calls bump "little pele".

I actually checked it in a name book once and its more known as a girl's name.. Pele was Pele's nickname.. his real name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento. Can see why people stuck to Pele! LOL

divastrop · 01/02/2007 17:09

well if walking is good excersise then im ok,its a 20 minute round trip to school and back and i do that 3 times a day most days.and thats without walking to tesco/town etc.

bethoo-i never even dreamed i'd be pregnant again when i was expecting dd2,i had resigned myself to being alone forever.things often happen when you least expect them.

i wonder how rainbowgirl is doing, has anybody heard from her?

moss-re the rasberry leaf tea, looking back it may have helped with the pain.i'd been hooked to the drip for ages and couldnt feel the contractions that were showing up on the monitor,it was a case of 'ow that one hurt' then 'oh s**t,i need to push'

the pain at the bottom of the bump is normally due to things stretching as the head moves down, although i find i get period-type pain when i have trapped wind

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 17:19

Does turning in bed count as excercise?

How about getting up four times each night to walk to the loo?

AmieR · 01/02/2007 17:28

Fox - turning over in bed seems to be the most strenuous thing I do... give me the stairs anyday over having to do that!

CallieNewMum · 01/02/2007 17:40

hi girls

When I went back to hospital last night, the nurse said the doctor had come back after I'd gone but had missed me. However she said they'd measured his head again and he was back growing within normal limits - yay! - and in light of that they didn't want to do any further investigations atm but would just keep an eye on his growth and monitor the situation. So while we're not completely out of the woods, I think we're probably looking at open ground from the forest edge (how's that for a bit of metaphor???). As you can imagine, I was mightily relieved. I've had a sharp lesson in how you really would do anything, sacrifice anything or anyone, for your child to be ok. Welcome to motherhood!!!! Keep your fingers crossed everything really is ok.

Moss, I pissed myself laughing at your fairy house. Can I move in next door???

Leo - birthday twin!!!

Bethoo - going to the gym???? You do more pregnant than I ever did non-pregnant - much respect. My exercise these days consists of walking from the car park to the ward, or marching hospital corridors from one end of very large building to the other to get to the canteen. That's it. I have to laugh when I see these postnatal exercise routines in books. Fat chance in hell of doing anything like that with baby in hospital!

To all those going on mat leave - ooh, you lucky people. I'd still have a week left after tomorrow in work in the normal timescale.

Going for a short kip now before this evening's session.

Callie x
should be 35 weeks today - in fact Jordi 24 days old.

Piffle · 01/02/2007 17:41

Yep turning over in bed with the 75 pillows I need to get comfy... Strenuous is indeed the word.
Golly Braxton Hicks getting quite major at my place. Get 3-4 in a row then start panicking
Had a really blah blah day today, no energy, no life, dd also seems quiet so we have curled up together for most of the day.
Not poorly ill, just blaurgh
