New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

my new name until popping time

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 16:31

Hi there

Kitty - how about "abouttohavekitties" as in about to have kittens?

OK it was a rubbish suggestion

Boo - Someone on my other thread has Rainbows e-mail address - I might contact her to check she's OK

Rosy et al - I did go yo physio in the end. I am now the pruod owner of both a low lying placenta and spd. She gave me some good advice and a girdle.

We had a strange moment when she squeezed my butt intyo tubigrip - a kind of huge bandage that fits between just below your bra and just beneath your bum. (like a long boob tube) She said "how do you feel?! I said, "like the Only Gay in the Village!"

Rosy - very of your new skills in links!

Lunar - I'm just like you - I peak out of the window to see what's occurring in the street! I'm quite nosy actually so have been following the van saga avidly - even feeling quite annoyed that you and others have been blocked in! You are amazing working till your EDD - you deffo have more energy than me!

Magpie - you poor thing, I never realised your spd is so bad!! When did it start in the PGcy?

Mossy "reet posh"? LOL

Laidback - a bit at the snake on the loose in the nursery story. Snakes need the warmth don't they - hope it doesn't freeze!

Leo - wow 9lbs of babies! You must be really feeling it now! They must be feeling a bit cramped too!!

Diva - so glad your BP is down again now - did you have high BP with previous PGcies?

My TENS arrived yesterday
...and our nittygritty comb

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 16:34

Love the new names

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 09/02/2007 16:38

Well foxy, I can see 2 problems with your helpful name suggestion and they are as follows:
I don't have kittens I have naugty little monkeys
I am not about to have anything( I fear the birth is still a good 7 weeks away)

LunarSea · 09/02/2007 16:40

fox - I don't really spend all my time looking out of the window! Usually it's so quiet here that there's nothing to see anyway. But as my desk looks right out over the street it's been hard to miss the minor drama of people getting stuck/being pushed out/rescuers falling flat on their faces over the last couple of days. Snow is definately building up again now - probably up to about an inch even where it was completely clear and not settling earlier, and no sign of it stopping yet.

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 16:42

Lunar - my PC is by the window - strategically placed so I can nose on the neighbours!!

Kitty - your choice of name is much better

divastropwantstodrop · 09/02/2007 16:49

its a good job i live in the back room or i'd be constantly looking out of the window at the cabaret bar thingy accross the road.i have the odd nosy sometimes when i hear shouting, but round the corner was better for that cos you'd get men storming off round there with their wives/gf's following, screaming at them

fox-i had pre-eclampsia with ds1 and i had high bp from 34weeks with the other 3 so i'm quite surprised its behaving itself atm.

lol@'the only gay in the village'

my profile appeared a bit after i postedi've no patience atall.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 09/02/2007 17:01

Diva I do indeed have a home & bargain, just down the road from our office actually, will pop by on Monday!

Oh yes Foxy could you check Rainbowgirl is okay it has been ages since she has posted.

I'm sure you looked lovely in your tubi-grip.

Lunar my PC at home is in the back room, the only view I have is of all the furniture that we've gotten rid of from the now nursery that dh has yet to take the tip (it's too manky to put on freecycle!)

Love the new names Kitty / Diva btw!!!

DollyPopsOut · 09/02/2007 17:09

no new names here.

We are all poorly - been sick all day yesteday and feel really wobbly today. Now DH has got it so we are a house of illness. DD so far unscathed though. Haven't had a chance to read everyone's posts. Hope you are all OK.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 09/02/2007 17:17

Poor you and yours Dolly Let's hope it'quick bug.

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 09/02/2007 17:17

Dolly what's up with you, have you been the Doctor?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 09/02/2007 17:18

Grr stupid computer I said 'quick bug'

LaidbackinEngland · 09/02/2007 18:00

Foxy - glad the physio was helpful . THe osteopath was good too... he "manipulated" me and despite feeling a bit spaced out - I can feel a difference in my back neck and overall posture. Going back next Friday. Disappointed that I didn't get to wear a tubigrip boob tube though

The nursery woman said " Oh don't worry about the snake he will head towards the warmth and probably be found near a radiator ! " .... or wrapped up in DS2's coat !!!

Had midwife appt this afternoon and talked about my friend who died last week after having her baby. She was being seen by the same team as me and the midwife said that they are all in shock. The post mortem was on Monday and they are awaiting the results. My DH is insisting I wear support stockings for four weeks after the birth although there is no decisive evidence that this prevents blood clots in women that have straightforward vaginal deliveries. At least this has prompted me to get some more life insurance sorted - which has been on my to do list for some time.

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 18:00

Diva - you remided me of when our old neighbours had a row and she locked him in the back garden. He couldn't get back in and was standing in the freezing cole tapping on the back door, calling "pleeeze let me in!"

Dolly - sorry to heat you are ill - what have you got you poor lot?

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 18:04

Laidback - glad your appointment went well. The osteopath sound svery good. about your friend again.

Totally agree with you about the life insurance. We got ours sorted a couple of years ago after I had a breast cancer scare (which thankfully turned out to be nothing than globules of breast milk). What we haven't got sorted yet is a will - which needs to stipulate what will happen to the DCs in the event of parents dying.

Sorry everyone else for being so glum. Has anyone else sorted those things?

I keep outting off doing the will...'cos I don't like thinking about it

TheBlonde · 09/02/2007 18:14

Foxy - I have a will but no life ins & DH has life ins but no will
Must hassle him to do a basic one asap

morocco · 09/02/2007 18:24

glad the physio has been helping foxy and laidback
re wills/insurance. I tried to get some before I knew I was pregnant but by the time the ins co had written to my gp, I'd been and told her I was pregnant so my application was put on hold til after I give birth, cos I had pre eclampsia with ds1. bit over cautious of them! I have 40 grands worth that was a freebie from our house in though so I guess that would cover some expenses. dh is fully insured though as he's the one with a job that pays the mortgage.
today is not a good day for family reasons. my brother seems to be going a bit loopy and dragging the rest of the family into his delusions. can't give too many details but it's not pleasant and is very upsetting. family, hey!

divastropwantstodrop · 09/02/2007 20:12

morocco-hope things with your family get sorted before you have the lo,you need things calm then!

fox-i made a will ages ago but it needs to be changed, but i cant change it till the adoption thing with ds2 is sorted.i dont like to think about it cos it means ss sniffing around for weeks(although dp isnt bothered by this,i am cos ive not had dealings with them before),and the remote possibility that when evil xh remembers he had a son he might decide he wants to see him.then ive got all the crap of finding a hitman etc...
i dont know anything about insurance, but i assume its only needed if one of us would end up in the s**t if the other died, and as things are atm it wouldnt make any difference

sazzybee · 09/02/2007 21:05

I'm sorry everyone is having a bit of a rubbish day.

Laidback - that's so awful about your friend. How dreadful.

I've finished! Feels a bit weird actually. Not sure what I'm going to do with myself with all this unstructured time. I had planned to make lots of nutritious meals and freeze them and clean the house to within an inch of its life but I'm a bit worried that I'll just lounge on the sofa and watch crappy telly on freeview

Ha - can't believe two of you were at Bangor - I went to Aberystwyth! When it was cold in West Wales it was very, very cold. London is balmy by comparison.

Tomorrow my friend is coming up from Bristol to see me. We haven't seen each other for about 6 months because she's struggling with infertility and has found it really difficult to cope with my pregnancy. So I'm a bit nervous but really looking forward to seeing her. Lovely news about your friend Amie

Right I'm going to watch Grissom (CSI). I'm obsessed!

TheBlonde · 09/02/2007 21:19

Just popping on for a quick hello in between coughing fits. I can't wait to feel well again

Spoke to a friend today, she had her baby last weekend at home cos they didn't make it to the hospital in time

Feeling the urge to get things sorted now.
DH & I are going to make our childcare plans for DS this weekend hopefully to cover all possibilities
I might pack my hospital bag too

Anyone else packed and ready?

(35+3)

AmieR · 09/02/2007 21:31

The Blonde - I am semi packed... got a few day to day things on stand by! Hope your cough gets better!

Sazzy - Another Grissom fan, eh? enjoy...

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 22:01

TheBlonde/Aime - I'm planning to pack mine tomorrow....mind you I've been saying that for weeks

divastropwantstodrop · 09/02/2007 22:09

fox-maybe your sub-consious is telling you that you dont need to pack a hospital bag cos the baby is going to drop out at home

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 22:12

Diva!!

Actually, I quite like that idea!

eidsvold · 09/02/2007 23:41

leo 9lb 7oz was what dd2 weighed at birth

mossy - deoderant

diva i was driving at 3 weeks post surgery with no2 - but for insurance purposes I had to have the gp's ok. With 1st section - 6weeks was the norm in the UK - insurance would not even go with doc's okay - had to be 6 weeks. Having said that GP did say it was not a licence to go driving long distance or that but okay for taking dd1 to her therapy etc. So it may depend on friend's insurance.

dh and I have our wills sorted and have sorted guardianship for dd1 - am sure it also says subsequent children. We did it for part of our emigration to Aus ( or return home in my case) were told it would make our case that we were a 'real' married couple stronger - despite the fact they could have looked at what dh and I had already been through with regards to dd1's health etc and were still together and going strong - wouldn't out yourself through that just for a visa......
