New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

Can't remember Diva...

Guinness. Mmmmmmm.....

Rosylily · 08/02/2007 21:11

If I could be bothered I'd go and be all northern irish on that thread but too tired zzzz.

Fox I had to get my ds1 age 15 to help me do links I've managed two, now I'm afraid to do any more in case I mess it up and can't feel all full of myself anymore

I'm hoping for snow tomorrow- still nothing here I'm so jealous! but it is freezing! (so there's hope)
I'm yearning for bed....

divastrop · 08/02/2007 21:22

rosy-change your name and go and start a cheese thread somewhere so you can practise in private

TheBlonde · 08/02/2007 21:25

Hi all

Still sick here but made it to Obs Clinic today
They were..
20 mins late (as in pg ladies all there waiting, 20 mins later staff finally show up to start clinic),
had no sonicaid thingies for listening to baby heartbeat,
had no sticks for testing the wee,
no plasters for your arm after taking blood.
The NHS is falling apart here!!

Foxy - for links I always cheat and just cut and paste from the box with the smilies in
so I cut and paste \link{ then I cut and paste the URL of the site I wanna link then I cut and paste \this} all done
Hope it makes sense!!

eidsvold · 08/02/2007 21:27

no snow here

managed to get a better nights sleep last night but not catch up any from the night before.

Off swimming with dd2 today - hopefully she will have a long nap before we have to pick up dd1 and I can get a kip as well.

Lunar - we used to live in a cul de sac in the UK - very small slope but when it snowed - made it quite treacherous.

semi organised - baby's bag packed for hospital.... mine has deod, slippers and undies and that is it!! Birth plan sorted - well not much to write for a c-section - although my maternity notes makes it easy - lots of tick the boxes.

33 weeks today - 5 weeks until c-day!!

Picked up the last of the layby stuff yesterday ready to wash it.... some great flannelette wraps, a few more cloth nappies, some long babygros, another sheet set for hte moses basket - make the top sheet into a slip cover. We really only need the bottom sheets as we use sleeping bags or swaddling so no need for a top sheet.

sazzybee · 08/02/2007 22:07

Ooh c-section at 38 weeks! Is that when they normally do them? I'm wondering just in case their attempts to swivel the baby fail. When I can grab a bit, I try and shove him round and make encouraging comments. Shall I stop?

Well my useless boss finally deigned to read my promotion form and pronounced it 'fine'. It's taken him a week to come to that conclusion.

Still I'm going into work to clear my desk tomorrow and then I'm done! Yay!! My sister told me I was a wimp for leaving work tomorrow. I'm going to be 36 weeks on Monday. Is that lame and early?

I'm really uncomfortable today - painful BHs.

AmieR · 08/02/2007 22:18

Moss - tonights Parentcraft was much more useful, pracitcal things rather than just facts on that labour may hurt a little!

Found out today that my friend who has been TTC for what seems ages is pregnant, she and her DH popped round to tell us earlier!

This is great news, she lives a mins walk from us and works for Surestart, so has lots of info to hand at all times. I'm so happy for them both. She's been quite desperate for children!

eidsvold · 09/02/2007 02:27

SAZZY - I was getting ahead of myself - my c-section is in 6 weeks - at 39 weeks. The hospital where I am having no3 has a policy depending on circumstances - electives are done between 38 and 39. Having said that - had an elective at 41+4 with dd2.

Oh what a beautiful morning.

Arthur, one of our dear doggies, has over the course of the last couple of days taken to being an absolute pita!

I think it is because we are trying to give him a bit of extra training in preparation for the arrival of lo. He has just a few bad habits that don't bother us, but are probably not ideal around a baby.

Anyway he's responding well to this extra training. By starting to wee in the house!

Calm. Patient. Assertive. Calm. Patient. Assertive. [breath in, breath out].

Will catch up with everyone properly later!!!

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 06:50

Hi everyone - have been up since my 4am pee

OK what does RP mean?

"Right Posh"?

TheBlonde - I think I tried that method of linking before and it still didn't work when I did it

Sazzy - I'm only carrying on working 'cos I need the dosh. Its a real struggle TBH, I think you're right to give up at 36 weeks - in fact I think 36 weeks is the norm.

I've got 4 more days in the office next week.

My Dad and stepmum have flown to Rome for the weekend so I'm feeling a bit worried in case I go into labour (they are down to come over and look after DS and DD during the labour and birth). They got stuck at Heathrow all day trying to fly out with flights cancelled 'cos of snow.

SPD girls - does anyone know whats likely to happen at my physio appointment today. I really don't want to go (mainly 'cos it means sitting in traffic on a Friday afternoon which is the only quiet time I get alone with DD all week).

Rosylily · 09/02/2007 07:40

Fox If I were you I'd postpone it, you've been up since 4, today is your restfull day...you need that! How bad is the spd? I never got as far as a physio, I've noticed lots of people seem to find an osteopath more helpful?

Amie, lovely news about your friend

LunarSea · 09/02/2007 08:27

It's obviously thawed a little overnight - because someone's just come and moved the big van, and a couple of people have now got out in cars. School's are still closed though - which at least means that ds has only missed 3 days while he's having his week away with dh, but I'm still a bit sad that he's missed ou on the rare chance for sledging and snowmen at home.

1973magpie · 09/02/2007 09:39

Morning All,

Another really cold day here today, but most of the snow has melted already DD very disappointed!

Boo - did you go to University of Wales, Bangor? I graduated from there in 2004 I have to say that while we lived in N Wales we had proper snow - we used to live on a farm and got snowed in because the track out was so icy, it was great

Rosy - I can't do links either, but I am a bit of a technophobe at the best of times, I haven't even managed to get a photo up on here yet, or a profile

Sazzy - I think that you have done fantastically well to get to 36 weeks and still be working, I have been off work since November with SPD, and was off for a bit before that with my MS!

Foxy - I had physio for my SPD, and found that it did help. They asked me loads of questions, i.e. where did it hurt, what movements made it worse, how did it affect me etc etc.

They moved me around, watched me walk, lay me on a bed and lifted my legs up and down, and then they got me to lay down on my front on a special mattress with holes cut for the bump and my boobs and re-aligned my sacrum, which was twisted (because I was walking and sitting funny trying to ease the pain).

I still use crutches when I am out of the house, but with the exercises they gave me to do the pain is a lot more manageable.

Hope everyone else is ok. I am still getting quite bad period type pains in my lower bump whenever I do anything, which I am getting a bit fed up with. Midwife seems to think they might be BH, but I don't know as I never had any at all with DD.

longinglily · 09/02/2007 09:48

experimenting

bethoo · 09/02/2007 09:58

longlilly - not a veiny cheese fan! looks awful!

longinglily · 09/02/2007 10:11

Bethoo it's that forbidden fruit though....

3rdtriMOSSter · 09/02/2007 10:16

Is that you Rosy?

Oh magpie I didn't realise you had to walk about on crutches! Makes my moaning about being a bit slower than usual seem really self indulgent! Will it go away when you have given birth?

Lunar what is the weather forecast for when your ds is back home?

Foxy: reet posh

Amie big congrats for your friend

Sazzy I am going off at 36 weeks as well. My hours are now 42 so they've reduced them, but it's a commute of over an hour each way, and I can only just cope at the moment; in fact before they reduced my hours I was thinking of going off at 32 weeks. I'm glad I didn't in terms of money, but with me feeling so sick the other day part of me wished I had. You're not being wimpy at all!!!

Mil keeps reminding me about how "in her day" women went off at six months, she thinks I'm crazy for staying in work so long! (To be fair though, with her first two she was working in a mill, not an office, bit of a difference!)

Eids you are so organised you put me to shame, but what is deod?

TheBlonde sounds like a bit of a nightmare! Can't believe they're so unprepared, did they apologise?

LaidbackinEngland · 09/02/2007 10:17

Morning - Fox - I think the physio will be as good as the physiotherapist to be honest . I know lots of people who have had good experiences and helpful advice and some that hve just been told common sense things and thought it a waste of time..... why not try it once and see if it helps ? I'll let you know about how the osteopath goes this pm - although I have to say I am not getting very excited about standing in front of him in my big knickers.

DS2 started montesorri this morning and I was so proud to see him wander in and not be stressed by being left.He is going to attend three mornings a week. The snake they keep at the nursery has gone walkabouts ... which adds another dimension... I have been assured that it is not one that eats children !

Good news for your friend Amie !!

Leoladyofleisure · 09/02/2007 10:18

Hi all, a quick drop in... I will try to do my irregular catch up later but wanted to let you all know that I am still here and hanging onto the babies ! Estimated total weight of the babies on Tuesday (at 35 weeks) was 2.2kg per baby, that's about 9.7lb of baby i am now carrying ! Not bad huh, I am proud of myself but I am also really feeling it!

Love to you all and hope everyone else is hanging in there!

LunarSea · 09/02/2007 10:22

So am I going to be the last one still working? Am hopefully cutting down a bit on the hours once we get into March, but still working to some extent right up to EDD (23rd).

They're learning - the City Link delivery van has parked at the top of the road, rather than attempting the hill and having to get back out again!

Well done for that Leo, give yourself a big pat on the back . I remember seeing a tv prog and there was a woman expecting twins and they were born at 8lbs each . I tell you I have never seen such a belly. It made my eyes water, still does infact!!

Luar, very that it is still snowing where you are. It is raining nasty cold rain here.

Foxy, good luck with the physio today, hope they are of some help

Rosy, I eat whatever I want now, especially cheese wise. I had a lovely chunk of brie the other day .

Hello Mossy (waving!!) I think eids means deodorant maybe not though, could be something dead mysterious!!

Magpie, gosh your spd is pretty bad huh?
I get alot of bh's now, they become more intense with every child, they are annoying. I didn't notice them with ds1.

Sazzy, great that your on mat leave now, enjoy it. You've done very well to get this far. Just rest up now, it's the last chance saloon!!!

Bye for now xx

3rdtriMOSSter · 09/02/2007 11:40

Hi Kitty, of course, deodorant! I thought it was yet another pregnancy / birth thing that I didn't know about!

Lunar, wow working right up until your EDD! Are you at least going to be able to work from home more often nearer the time?

Wow Leo that is heavy, you must be knackered!

Laidback I hope it's a grass snake and not a python...
