New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bethoo · 07/02/2007 15:15

sazzy - know whatyou mean, i swear my lo is wearing steel capped boots they make me wince!

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 15:19

Kitty - glad the little lad has grown - your tactics are certainly working

Sazzy - my LO's kicks are very uncomfortable too, specially when I sit. Sometimes it feels as though he's attached a clothes peg to the inside of my fango (ouch!!)

Everyone - stop talking about food!!

..just had my pre baby haircut. Came back to work and no one has noticed!!

1973magpie · 07/02/2007 15:35

Afternoon All,

Still on the Dial up with no news on when BT will sort out our line We don't have BT broadband we have Virgin Net so I guess that means BT care even less.

Bethoo - sorry to hear that things are still complicated with dp, I agree with others advice to post on the Relationships section, maybe there is someone else in a similar position that can give you some pointers? In the meantime, just concentrate on you and the baby, spoil yourself and chill with the pets

TheBlonde - sorry that you are still ill too, hope you feel better soon with the antibiotics.

Piffle - dh has banned me from giving birth on a sunday due to the F1, so I know where you are coming from on the sporting front Hope the BH have eased off, I keep getting strong period-like pains in the underside of my bump, I don't know if these are BH as I never had any with DD1

Rosy - sorry that you are feeling low at the moment, I admire the fact that you are managing to deal with other dcs with your dp away a lot. I only have one dd (6) so I only have her after school, until next week when it's half-term - arghh!

Mossy - glad you are feeling a bit better, hopefully work will take your mind off the nausea

Kitty - that's fantastic news about the baby having grown, must have been all the cream cakes My bump changes shape almost constantly, and it often feels like lo is doing cartwheels, so I think they still change position a lot at this stage.

Sazzy - sorry that you feel unappreciated at work, it's a real pain waiting on others to do stuff when you just want to get it sorted

Hi to anyone else I haven't mentioned specifically Has anyone heard anything from rainbowgirl? It seems ages since she last posted, I hope she is ok.

Things are ok here with me, spd has started up again though , and I'm getting fed up of the 'no chocolate' diet, but other than that (and the suspected BH!) things are good. DH came home from work yesterday with a bunch of flowers for me, which was a lovely surprise (probably to make up for telling me that I moan too much last week...)

muppetisacat · 07/02/2007 15:47

Dolly - love the name Kitty - very you can use it. I wanted this one to be another girl so I could use that name. Still can't decide what to call this lo.

Rosy - sorry you are having bad day - is your sister near enough to come over and help out?

Mossy - my ms always faded slightly at the smell of lemon - was it a lemon scented toilet duck you were using??

Kitty - such good news that babe has grown some for you - keep it up! Speaking of your fears about breech babes - (i know i keep going on about mine being breech) but was remembering something i typed on this thread - and found it back on November 5th!........

"Kitty - my second birth with ds was compound - he also came out like superman - hand first - arm locked straight. DH said it was like someone climbing out of a pothole... Don't think it's the sort of thing that predisposes you to another - but it was easier than my dd's birth who gave me a face presentation... What on earth will this one come up with I wonder... probably breech (I really shouldn't be joking about this should I!) 22+1 (boy)"

I believe I'm psychic!
35+5

Piffle · 07/02/2007 16:24

sazzy that you can still walk a mile respect!
I gave up walking any further than a trip round the supermarket months ago
Even getting up off the chair to make the tea is something I have to psychologically build up to!
I should be the size of a house...

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 16:30

Ah Bethoo pets are great aren't they? My doggies aren't allowed upstairs (it confuses them) but atm, dh and I don't sleep in the same bed most week nights (I'm far too big now and have squashed him on occasion and I need my sleep when I'm in work!) so Ziggy my cat sleeps with me. He's much smaller than dh, and a whole lot furrier. Also he doesn't mind my snoring!

Sazzybee sorry your boss is being crap.

Was going to write more but need to go the loo not feeling so well see ya later!

sazzybee · 07/02/2007 16:56

'sazzy that you can still walk a mile respect!' If there had been a bus I would have got on it I can tell you. And I meant a kilometer, not a mile . That's the end of my walking career though - I'm sitting on my bum for the next 4 weeks

I keep forgetting to say - my consultant told me the other day that 40% of babies are breech before 36 weeks. I thought that was quite encouraging.

Thank you all for your sympathy about my boss. I wish he'd realise that managing his team is part of his job - not an add on that he can squeeze in if he has time when he's finished schmoozing . I wouldn't mind but he's only got 3 people reporting to him! Men are rubbish are multi-tasking

morocco · 07/02/2007 17:22

very true about men and multitasking!

I've finally started getting slightly organised. phoned nct and am getting someone out to the house to fit a few bf bras in a week's time - I'm very proud of this organisational skill! Here there's only mothercare and I don't like their bras and there's no way I'm getting on a train to manchster to go to the bigger but much much nicer shops. too big to travel far these day.

anyone else dreading halfterm? kids all day - aaargh!

LaidbackinEngland · 07/02/2007 18:18

Kitty - so glad your babe has done some serious growing - keep up the positive growing vibes. Positive turning vibes to those with breech babies too....

All our stuff arrived today from Sri Lanka - its all gone into storage , which went very smoothly - retrieved the baby crib and some baby bedding to wash.

Magpie - I thought I had avoided SPD this pregnancy, but mine too has started up with a vengeance - have booked an appointment with the osteopath for Friday to see if he can sort it out. Fingers crossed and legs uncrossed !

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 19:22

Ahhh, back home now [sigh of relief]

Ugh, what a horrible day! I had all yesterday's work to catch up on, in addition to today's work, and to top it all off started to feel really sick about four o'clock.

Lol muppet, I think it was toilet duck scented!!!

Magpie little surprises like those flowers are really nice aren't they? Although I prefer it when dh brings me food-related surprises! Oh I had a thought. Asda do sugar free peppermint chocolates, they're in the sweets aisle. I think they're called "carb free" but there's no sugar in them and they're lovely!!!

Rosy I'm sure wensleydale isn't off the menu! (Not even wensleydale?)

I'm going to try my hand at cooking again this evening, but I'm cheating by using a sauce. Still, for me that's not bad!!

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 19:23

Forgot to ask, Laidback you mentioned washing the baby clothes, I was wondering, is there any special washing up powder / fabric conditioner that you're meant to use? I know it's meant to be non-bio but other than that?

divastrop · 07/02/2007 20:05

kitty-glad lo has grown.theres still the odd bit of rubbish being thrown over, but i think they will get bored of it when i dont retaliate.things at home...dont know atm.i just want to have the baby then figure out whats really happening.

town was a nightmare, every time i go more and more shops have closed down, and there werent that many to start with.i only got half the stuff i needed for the baby..its easier to but illegal substances in this town than it is to buy baby clothes.

i saw my friend's baby today, shes so small and cute.all the other pregnant playground mums seem to have dropped now,its making me evn more impatient

moss-ds2 was allergic to every non-bio washing powder i tried,so i only ever use bold 2 in 1 now

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 20:09

Diva I'm very impressed that you don't retaliate. That's amazing self-control!!

DollyPopsOut · 07/02/2007 20:18

Girls you would be SO proud of me. I have kicked so much arse today, really stood up for myself, only cried 3 times at work (in the comfort of my office so no one saw) and generally feel OK about work again. Still have too much to do but feeling much more positive.

My brain has turned to mush though and I can't remember what anyone wrote today. Sorry for everyone with SPD - sounds really horrible. I didn't have any BH with DD1 and I think that's quite common. Get a lot of tightenings now but nothing too painful.

Sometimes it does feel as though the baby is kicking me in the fanny though. The kicking can be quite painful, but in a good way.

I have the TV on in the background and Janet Street Porter is about to attend a birth. Bloody hell, that's the last person you'd need as a birth partner . I'll watch though and hope to be proved wrong.

Hope everyone is well today XXXXX

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 20:25

Dolly that's brill, so glad you told them where to go in work!!!

I got your email btw and replied to you

What channel is that on? Sounds funny! I started watching the news, then came on mn, and now there's some really really super rich couple on the telly buying a house in the country, must turn over...

divastrop · 07/02/2007 20:48

oh btw moss-i didnt get any bh's till about 37 weeks with my first, and they were pretty unremarkable.

i'm getting worried now-one of the playground mums who had her 5th baby 2 weeks ago was telling me she went to the hospital thinking she was just going into established labour, and when she got there she was fully dilated and the baby's head was halfway down

i now have visions of me going for a pee and the baby falling into the toilet...

morocco · 07/02/2007 21:08

gosh - hope not diva

quick question everyone - when you register the birth do you need to take passport or your own birth/marriage certificates along? no idea where mine are so if so, I better send dh up into the attic
tia

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 21:31

Dolly I am in awe, well done!

Moss I don't want ordinary wensleydale...oh no that's far too allowable, I want blue mouldy wensleydale slurp

Everyone can stop feeling sorry for me now, I feel very ashamed of feeling sorry for myself! I don't have it that hard and loads of you lot have much more to contend with!

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 21:37

practising links

AmieR · 07/02/2007 21:39

I like Wensleydale with the cranberry in it... A LOT

divastrop · 07/02/2007 21:47

morocco-no you dont have to take anything as far as i can remember.neither i nor dp have passport/driving license and im sure i didnt take my birth cert.

rosy-mmmm blue mouldy cheese.

AmieR · 07/02/2007 21:51

everyone ready fro the snow tomorrow?

oh how I shall laugh which much gusto if there is no snow!

DH came home tonight and most the schools in his area are closed tomorrow...

escapes me how such a developed country such as ours... ceases to function when we get a little snow!

hmm I want cheese on toast now! lol

divastrop · 07/02/2007 21:57

rosy-why did you post that link?ive been crying with laughter for the last 5 mins and dp thinks ive gone completly insane and cant understand why im laughing so much at a piece of cheese

eidsvold · 08/02/2007 03:14

haven't caught up with messages - hope all is going well for everyone - or as well as could be expected.

Had a terrible night last night - got in from kindy committee meeting and could not go to sleep - up until almost 12.30. WOken by dh as he went off to work at 5.30am - tried to go back to sleep and couldn't. Could barely drag myself off to drop dd1 at sn kindy and do some shopping I needed to do.

So tired but did not dare to have an afternoon nap cause I am sure I would not have woken in time to get dd1 from sn kindy.

had an embarrassing day at shop - dd2 decided she liked some baby shoes and slipped them into the basket under the buggy without my seeing. Thankfully did not set the store alarm off but as I went to put my purse away I wondered what the pink thing in my basket was.... dd2's first shoplifting!! I made her carry them back and give them to the lady. My friend who was with me just laughed and said I needed to teach her the 'right' sort of stuff to lift

foxabout2pop · 08/02/2007 06:34

Hi everyone

ooooh London is all covered in snow

Eids - I remember DS "stealing" some paintbrushes when he was a baby

laidback - I'm going to physio too on Friday for spd. Do you know what they're likely to do to me ??

Dolly - go for it girl, well done!!!

I can't multi-task anymore due to PG brain

Hi everyone else

Must dash and get dressed, then wake the monsters up
