morning everyone.
Amie - have you felt movement yet today? i always find that drinking full sugared coke wakes mine up and gets him moving. i swear he is going to be caffeine addicted when he comes out as that is the only craving i have had, will have to start weaning us both off it before long! in fact i have some left in the fridge at work. only 2 days to go!!!
there are some early birds here! i am going to have to find a neighbour with internet as i do not at home.
any suggestions for cheap internet connection? i just want internet nothing else!
fed up with dp! we split up a few weeks ago so i decided not to contact him and try and move on. he rang me last night and now wants to come round to 'drop off' some baby stuff etc. i am torn as i am trying to move on but still love him and want to make it work but he is never going to change. seeing him returns me to square one! nightmare!

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 10:38

A bit of hard work half kills me! After much blood sweat and tears The banger is jumped and engine running while I have a cup of tea to recover from all the effort I'm so spoilt nowadays that's my problem!

Lunar those little suits look a great design, I wonder why they aren't more available?

Bethoo, that is going to be a tricky one for you. If you can though it would be great if you can manage to include your dp but it is still early days for you. It will get easier later I reckon. If you really can't face him yet maybe put him off to a later date? Or be out and let him drop the stuff with a neighbour?

TheBlonde · 07/02/2007 10:46

Hi all
Hope everyone is doing okay
Got antibiotics now and starting to feel slightly better but have had to cancel everything this week. Thankfully my mom is being a star and has said she'll stay til Thurs night to look after us

Lunar - I have definitely seen those outfits, I think they call them bundlers. Maybe mothercare or JohnLewis had them

Piffle · 07/02/2007 10:49

Morning ladies
Feeling a little light headed and nauseous this morning for some reason, off ot have a rest in a minute I think see if it subsides.
Dp was scanning the 6 nations rugby schedule and musing the bonus of a homebirth would mean little chance of an interruption.
17th there are the 3 final matches on one after the other.
Murphys Law

Baby conceived during Wimbledon, born during the 6 mations.
A true sporting legacy
Men can be soooo funny at times... not

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 10:54

Thanks everyone for letting me moan on about my ms! Am still feeling nauseous today but managing to keep myself from retching. Sorry if tmi!

Dolly what's going on with your work now? What have they done, are they being awful again? I'll get your email this evening, we're not allowed to use hotmail in work (fear of people using it to steal candidates' / clients' details - corporate theft - gross misconduct!!)

Rosy sorry you're having a crappy time, it must be very difficult to get yourself going when you're tired and heavily pg and looking after little ones. When is your dh next back? Do you have friends / neighbours etc nearby who can help out?

Lunar I'm gonna get some scratch mitts from the Asda, but I'm not sure whether I'll need them immediately as I'm gonna give swaddling a go initially. Bought a swaddling wrap from babygro, so cute! But I believe not all babies like it so... we'll see.

Oh Bethoo sorry about your dp/xp. I don't understand some fellas, when I read some of the threads here on mn about women's partners and their attitudes to pregnancy it makes me and . Have you thought about posting something in the "relationships" section? There will be someone there with good advice I'm sure.

Piffle · 07/02/2007 10:54

those bundler nighties are here

greenbaby
Had them with DD Godsend have dd's and have kept them so will be using them with this one
Truly fab item way better than sleepsuits
All this range is good also recommend the CHEAP wrap bodysuits, most places they are £8-10 per vest
Brill esp when baby vomits as you do not have to pull it over their heads and get puke in the hair - or if the have explosive poo (and I guarantee at least 1 )

Piffle · 07/02/2007 10:59

these kimono ones are fab as well

PH Baby

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 11:12

Sorry few X-posts!

Rosy glad you got your car sorted out. And there's nothing like a decent brew to make things better is there?

TheBlonde glad you're feeling a bit better, hope you get chance to relax and recover.

Piffle sorry you're feeling nauseous, every sympathy from me!!!

Just had a CV in which tickled me. She worked as a Receptionist at the YMCA; apparently her duties included "dealing with bookings and queries about hostile rooms"

Although to be fair to her, if you've ever seen the Liverpool YMCA, some of the rooms probably are pretty hostile!

Piffle · 07/02/2007 11:19

Freudian slip... I stayed at a uni Y decades ago and the smell was definitely hostile, all those student feet
Bleurgh
damnation linking to those websites below, have just spent a load on baby items
GRRR @ myself

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 12:15

LOL at the hostile smelly student feet!!!

Are those bundle things the nighties with draw strings at the bottom?

If so I highly recommend them too - had one for DD its was brilliant - someone has just donated two more for DS - they are so convenient.

Sorry some people are having such a crap day with work, NS, cars etc

divastrop · 07/02/2007 12:22

hello all

piffle-hope youre feeling better soon, take it easy.

rosy-i think we are both at the same stage now...i want to not be pregnant any more but i know its too early for the baby to be born so i just want to scream in frustration.when is your dh going to be back?

dp is decorating now.i wish i could be like gim-sit on my bum then just get up and get on with something.his efficiancy makes me.i tend to wander round in dream world all the time, never getting a chance to sit down but never getting anything done either.

i have to go to town and get the last few bits for the baby.ive written a list but i doubt it will be of any use to me.

amie-hope everythings ok.

sorry to anyone ive missed

35weeks today

divastrop · 07/02/2007 12:24

gim??that was meant to be 'him'.i blame my swollen fingers

bethoo · 07/02/2007 12:47

i bought a swaddling blanket but it has instructions and looks bloody complicated!
i like the idea of the babygro bags too though i think they are only suitable for babies over 14 weeks.
is it safe to eat marscapone cheese? it does not say anywhere that you cant. i love it on fresh fruit, esp mango!

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 13:16

No idea Bethoo but it sounds yum. I seem to have my appetite back after about 3 weeks. So now I'm totally happy again because I've done the shop, cupboards a brimming, belly is mostly full though I'm still scoffing custard tarts! The children are so good too, they are being like little cherubs, so how can I complain now?

Piffle don't feel bad, you are having a baby...you'll need all the stuff you bought

Diva good luck with the shopping trip, (not long now, not long now....)

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 13:22

Dh is not back up with me until not next week but the following week, after that I'm hoping he'll be able to be around more. I might manage to meet up with him for a day or two in Navan next week. If I'm really stuck I can shout 'help' to my sister who isn't far away. So I am not in much difficulty, I just like to moan alot!

Piffle · 07/02/2007 14:11

Feeling a lot better now
Anyone else getting really serious braxton hicks?
I just had about 4 in 20 minutes, lasting a minute or more.
Thankfully they have stopped!
I remember having almost constant ones with dd at 36 wks, 2 weeks of intense pre labour. Sure as hell hope it's not going to be like this for the next 6 wks!!!

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 14:16

Piffle I haven't had any bh, I'm 33+1 weeks, should I have had some by now? Glad you're feeling a bit better.

Diva of course your dp is more efficient than you atm, he doesn't have loads of pgcy symptoms to deal with! I can manage very short bursts of efficiency atm. About ten - fifteen minutes of doing something constructive.

And then I need about an hour to recover!

Right I have to go and write fourteen adverts now - that's my whole day's worth of effiency time gone, right there!!!

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 14:26

oh I shouldn't have read the cheese post. I'm yearning for forbidden cheeses again now!

Piffle I am getting loads of braxton Hicks today. It's tiring isn't it? It's like the body having a work out of its own accord! Moss people often don't seem to be as bothered by them in earlier pregnancies.

sexkittyinwaiting · 07/02/2007 14:28

I'm very cross as I actually found some time to write a really long post and talk to you all and the bloody computer lost it

Diva, are things better at home now and how are things with the mad neighbour woman is she still dumping her rubbish?

TheBlonde, glad you're starting to feel better now, take it easy.

Mossy, glad you're feeling less icky today. Lol at the hostile rooms, never a truer word spoken.

Piffle could your bp be on the low side do you think?

Rosy, make sure you get some help. I was thinking about you yesterday and it's no fun being on your own whilst heavily preg and have kids to look after. You must be really knackered.

Had my midwife app today and I'm only measuring 2 weeks behind now so lo has grown up 2 cm in the last week. They couldn't find his heart beat for ages though. I knew he was fine as he was wriggling away at the time. In the end the midwife had a listen in at the top of the bump and there it was. she also wasn't sure which was his bottom and which was his head. Fingers crossed for me on Monday ladies I do not want a breach baby to add to my list of concerns. I am not having a section if he is. Mind you he's been squirming all dayso he's probably bttm up again now.

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 14:33

Thanks Kitty, I have a cleaner two hours a week now...I think I love her did you get your help sorted out?

3rdtriMOSSter · 07/02/2007 14:35

Rosy... [Homer Simpson voice] Mmmmmmm.... forbidden cheese...

I could just scoff a whole Camembert!

Kitty you poor thing, if it ain't one thing it's another... but at least lo has grown that's the important thing and I will keep my fingers crossed for you on Monday

Rosylily · 07/02/2007 14:38

[wallace and gromit voice] ooh...a little bit of wensleydale...

bethoo · 07/02/2007 14:44

thanks Mossy there is so much you cannot eat these days that it is a mine field! bad enough that i have to have outdoor cats now so i do not have to change cat litter though my female one still sleeps wiht me! in fact yesterday after waking from a dize on the sofa i awoke to find a dead mouse on my living room floor! the first time i have known any of my cats to hunt. i thnk it was the male one as the female sniffed her nose to it and wandered off! i think the male was apologising for being such a little s* these past few weeks! keep having visions of a godfather scene of waking up with a dead rodent on my pillow!
think i ate too much as feeling very tight around my tummy and want to curl up in bed but got another 2 hours left at work!

sazzybee · 07/02/2007 14:51

Good news on your baby's weight kitty They weren't sure which way up my baby was either. I think they guess half the time.

rosylily - I really feel for you. If I were you I'd be sitting in a teary heap now so I think you're doing amazingly well.

bethoo - those swaddling blankets aren't too hard - I had a go on my friend's baby. Have a look on the miraclewrap website - it's got pictures (I don't know if you struggle with written instructions like I do ). If you don't feel ready to see your DP, then you don't have to. Whoever suggested you post on the relationship forum - I agree.

I am very cross today - I've been waiting for my boss to call me all day to discuss my promotion form and my appraisal. Not only has he not rung me, he's not even answered my email. I feel really unappreciated. I know I'm going to end up finishing it off late Friday night because he won't have read it until the 11th hour.

I am being kicked harder and harder on a daily basis. I thought they were supposed to move less as they get older! It's really painful - I've cried out twice inadvertently in the last few days - bit embarrassing. I tried to walk about a mile yesterday - by the time I got to where I was going, I was bent over like an old crone.
