New thread because the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts mark.

OP posts:

Mossy - you need a pregnancy TENS, they work differently, as you need to be able to regulate the vibrations each time you get a contraction.

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 09:13

Foxy I think Monty is more brunette, but Monti is for any eventuality.

Good grief I sound like I'm talking a load of horlicks don't I!

eidsvold · 06/02/2007 09:19

been trying to find nice birth announcement cards..... pain in the butt - as long as you definitely know what you are having or have time after the babe is born - plenty around. Lots of baby boy, baby girl ones. I had some gorgeous ones for dd2 that were unisex BUT i can't seem to find them anywhere.

Have a notepad type which is okay but I would like really nice ones to send to close friends and family - the notepad do for the rest....

Feel like I might have to make my own.

Anal I know - but once I get home with no3 - no time for that. Figure I can do them in the hospital when I am there for my 5 day stay - might get some time to do some then. Managed to get mine done for dd2 whilst in hospital.

I remember seeing some saying the bump has landed but I suspect they were in the UK and it was a long time ago - am sure my mind is playing tricks on me.

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 09:19

Ah well there goes my "phone a friend" plan for TENS! I'll stick to the bath.

When dh and I set out to buy our first house, I always said I only ever wanted one with an upstairs bathroom, and dh said he only wanted one with a garage or a front yard in which to park. Also we wanted a back garden rather than a back yard.

Anyway this was the very first house we viewed, and it had none of those things. But what it did have, in the downstairs bathroom, was a huge corner bath, which was one of the main things sold it to us. And its that very bath I'll be submerging myself in during the first stages of labour!

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 09:20

Eids are there any you can order online?

eidsvold · 06/02/2007 09:24

yeh - but all I can find are custom designed printed ones - cheapest are about 50 - 60 dollars for 10

I am sure they were anne geddes ones the last ones I had.

Just means a trip to a huge shopping centre near us for a recce I guess.

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 09:35

Goodness that is very expensive!!

I hadn't really got round to thinking about birth announcement cards. But I am a cheapskate so will probably do it by email!!!

Am going to go back to bed I think and see if this sickness passes. It's a pain in the bum to still be getting sickness at 33 weeks (yes I am 33 weeks today!)

Rosylily · 06/02/2007 10:47

Lunar, thanks for the link, I was entertained by the foxy bingo advert...my brain is so mush that I'm easily hypnotised!
Lucky I'm not working at all never mind for 33 more days, my empty head would be incapable of justifying any wages! Happy shopping later!!

Moss not everyone finds tens helpful ie me...can't stand 'em. Hope you get lots of rest, how horrible being sick!

Morocco well done and great news with the baby turning!
Sazzy I have visions of your little one swimming around freely and happily in a large pool

Laidback your friends brothers have nice names too, I'm contemplating sending for an islamic names book. That dh of mine won't engage with me on the baby name thing though. Going to nag him more later! I really want to have an idea of the name soon. I don't want to have the baby and have to call it 'the baby' for ages.

Fox that is great that Monti is a birdy name so you got your way...brilliant! and Monti is very popular with us lot too.

Diva, in the early days with dh I used to get a jealous head so much, and I hate being jealous but I couldn't help it! I'm not jealous now though so hopefully you will get over it in time. You do have reason but not from your dp by the sounds of it.

Well I failed to get dd to playschool today. The banger wouldn't start.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/02/2007 10:54

Hello ladies!

I just popped on to say the 17th March is a fabulous day to have a baby. Lots of fabulous people were born on 17th March.

Double bubble this year - Mother's Day is the Very Next Day

Perfect timing you see.......

Piffle · 06/02/2007 10:55

my mother VVV
Obviously the main exception
If this baby is born on her birthday
Egads

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 10:58

moan moan moan alert

I still feel sick, it is doing my head in, I am fine while I am lying down but I can't sleep so it's really boring, and then as soon as I get up again I feel really nauseous! It's doing my head in! And I am hungry but nervous of eating anything in case it comes back up! I'm 33 wks pg ffs, I shouldn't be feeling sick now!!

moan over

Sorry for moaning I know lots of people have far worse ailments to worry about!

Rosy I think an Islamic names book is a great idea. Dh and I used a baby name book, we wrote down, separately, all the names we liked, for a girl and for a boy, and then matched up the lists to see which names were on both.

Very few as it happened! But we managed to choose one in the end.

My gro bag swaddling wrap came in the post this morning and it is so cute!!! I have swaddled a teddy bear and put it in the cot.

I know that's a bit .

Ziggy has gone out he can see me eyeing him up as potential practising material!! But he might be safe, I'm not sure about cat hair and babies and potential allergies so I'll err on the side of caution!

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 10:59

X posts - VVV / Piffle, my dh's birthday is 17th March! He already moans about getting crappy presents, so I'm not sure sharing his birthday with his son would be such a great idea as he'd only moan people were ignoring his special day in favour of lo's, I'm sure!!!

Rosylily · 06/02/2007 11:04

I'll be having this baby on the 17th I reckon, because I always go into labour five days over, and its Paddy's day which will annoy dh because he'll want to be in his restaurant where everyone will be wearing green wigs and drinking guinness

Rosylily · 06/02/2007 11:09

Moss you poor thing try and eat something. At least keep your fluids up. Are you sure you haven't got a bug?

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 11:14

I don't think it is a bug, it feels just like the morning sickness I had in the first trimester.

I'm going to have some pasta I think, something nice and plain, hopefully I will be able to keep it down!

Piffle · 06/02/2007 11:18

17th would be terrible for us
FIL is Irish as is all my mums family (hence her being called Patricia - Paddy after her 17th March birthday)
Dp would be torn every birthday as would Grandparents and my mum...
I had a reasonable nights sleep
I snuck a glass of Guinness in at 7pm, knitted for two hours then slept, still woke for the million wees and the odd scrath/turning over in bed with 4 pillows saga but went back to sleep solidly in between
And feel better for it today

Piffle · 06/02/2007 11:19

Mossy unreal to still be feeling so ill
Little and often would that help?
I find pears soothe my occasional nausea - the firm Rocha ones are the business.
Hope it goes soon.

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 11:25

Glad you're feeling a bit better Piffle.

I do have some pears actually, will try one!

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 11:30

Oh balls I thought they were pears but they're avacados and I know they'll make me feel worse!

Never mind will stick to the pasta and get dh to pick me some pears up on the way home. I'm not leaving this house today I've decided!!!

eidsvold · 06/02/2007 11:31

not mother's day here VVV.... have to wait til May but at least lo will be here by then

mossy - sorry to hear you are feeling terrible.

bethoo · 06/02/2007 12:01

talking about birth announcements, how cheap am i! i was just going to send a group text!

cant suggest anythign for nausea though ginger is supposed to be good. i used those travel sickness bands in my first trimester!

Rosylily · 06/02/2007 12:04

Oh yes travel sickness bands helped me a bit too.

eidsvold · 06/02/2007 12:07

bethoo - we have friends around the world - and especially in the Uk so a group text makes it difficult - some have access to email but not all.... I am jsut old fashioned and like sending out lovely cards with the info.

No doubt dh will do an email when I am in hospital.

3rdtriMOSSter · 06/02/2007 12:09

Well I have just had some plain pasta with a bit of salt and pepper so I'll see how I go at keeping that down. Fingers crossed!

I'm sure it will go again as quickly as it's come.

Bethoo I am probably just going to send emails to everyone, and then get a load of huge balloons to put in our front window so our neighbours can all come over. Hopefully they'll offer to help with housework and brewing up and the like!!

AmieR · 06/02/2007 12:16

Hope your MS settles down soon Moss!

I'm sat here feeling sorry for myself too, had a mummurr of a headache since sunday, now its a little more.. if its not gone by tomorrow will contact someone about it... I suffer from migranes so I'm hoping its just a mini one of those!

Haven't really thought about birth announcement cards... think I'm getting in denial stage! lol!

No TENS machine here either, not sure I fancy it.. probably regret it at the time, but I'm all up for the bath idea!
