Fox and Dolly..sock it to 'em !!

divastrop · 04/02/2007 21:34

i like mucho crappo!i'm going to run it past dp as we need to think of a 'just in case' boys name

Rosylily · 04/02/2007 21:37

Callie just ignore those unhelpful bags! You are doing great and I hope you get thoroughly well established with bf but if not, you've already done wonders under the circumstances!

Rosylily · 04/02/2007 21:39

Hey that was a bit of cross posting...now I'm all confused!

3rdtriMOSSter · 04/02/2007 21:41

Firstly thank you to everyone for posting on my thread, it's made me feel loads better and given me some great advice. I now feel a lot less cowardly waiting until after the birth.

Rosy your Dad sounds brill, what a lovely chap!

Diva I get withdrawal symptoms from the Asda - we went today and spent £101!!! Not just on food I hasten to add we bought loads of other stuff. Including... they had a 100% cotton double duvet set with pillowcases and a sheet for £20 reduce from £40 just had to be bought Glad you are feeling better

Booboo - so you're not in labour!! I managed to get dh to walk the dogs today, was just too tired myself!

Callie sorry you're not getting all the support you need about bf, is there a mw who could help?

Theblonde sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon.

HTH also I agree about meanings of names, as Dolly says, it's nice to know there is a lovely meaning, Bertie (Bertram) means "bright" apparently which was one of the reasons I liked it, iyswim.

Guess what remember I said dh was teaching me to cook? Well, I made my first meal "unaided" tonight, a beef stew, and it was really nice! I am well made up!

3rdtriMOSSter · 04/02/2007 21:44

Sorry x-posts didn't see your info on Myall Eids, have changed my mind on it now!

Foxy forgot to say, good luck with your dh's tribunal! I would imagine no company wants to be the first to have the new age discrimination laws tested in court so hopefully it will go very well for you.

foxabout2pop · 04/02/2007 21:56

Mossy - am hoping his employers will get very scared and let him have what he wants, which is not much anyway!!

Thanks for voting

foxabout2pop · 04/02/2007 22:19

Kitty - glad bump is growing again

Don't forget to vote everyone else !!

eidsvold · 05/02/2007 02:15

just back from GP visit - all is well although bump measuring on the large side - like I did not know that no probs there - dd2 was 9lb 7 oz so who knows with this one.

Have a fab GP who asked me if all was okay and was I getting organised etc - anything I needed her to do.... she has been so brilliant with both dd1 and all her referrals and needs etc and through 1 1/2 pregnancies... and to think I just plucked her out of the phone book just before we left england.

we may have finally settled on a girl's name - I hope. Our boy's name is a leftover from dd2 but is also fil's middle name ( FIL passed away last year after a very short battle with a very aggressive cancer - shock to us all!)

foxabout2pop · 05/02/2007 05:54

Eids - wish I could say the same re. names!! Glad your appointment went well - GP sound lovely

ANYONE NOT VOTED YET? (see below)

3rdtriMOSSter · 05/02/2007 06:41

Kitty glad your bump is growing, that's great news. Atm I think if anyone disappears off for a few days I automatically think... hmmm... has she gone into labour?!

Eids your GP sounds really nice, it's great when you get a good one. I have one really great one, a very understanding woman, and another who is a bit rubbish (I'm sure she's a good doctor to ill people, but she hasn't the first idea about pregnancy!)

Last night... we finally finished the nursery!!!! It has only taken about four months from start to finish. To be fair my input has been minimal but towards the end when it was less about painting and decorating and more about clearing up I did "pull my weight" (to quote dh ) a bit more! In fact yesterday I was on my hands and knees wiping down the laminate

(Diva you'll know from those links about turning babies why I offerd to do that hardly out of the goodness of my own heart or out of some weird nesting instinct!!)

And last night after we'd finished I was very naughty on the alcohol front ... two lovely bottles of Guiness..... mmmmmmm delicious! I slept like a log, only had to get up once for the loo!

I think I'm on 18 working days to go!

EDD

32+6

eidsvold · 05/02/2007 07:16

Moss - much to dh's disgust I have never had the nesting instinct - well at least not for the last two - no sign of it showing up this time either.

I did however clean the house from top to bottom the day before I went in for my c-section with dd2. Only cause I figured it would go a couple of weeks with just dh doing what he could until I felt up to it - not because of some strange compulsion to do so.

foxabout2pop · 05/02/2007 08:58

Rosy - i used t olive in Belfast, well Holywood which was not that far from there and i worked in Anne Street. Belfast is an excellent place to live, i envy you! Great nights out!
Sazzy - i didn ot know there was a week limit on measuring for bras at mothercare! i am still wearing normal bras (not underwired!)and my boobs hang out the sides, top and bottom! quite a state really! i will get my mum to measure me as she will take great pride in commenting on how saggy they are etc but then she will be buying the bras for me so may as well let her be happy for once! she is never happier unless she is kicking someone while theyre down!
Diva - how the heckers does giving a man a blow job help enduce labour? if that was the case i would have had a false labour every other day! that is just an excuse!
Laidback - sorry about your friend passing like that. was it caused by the pregnancy? it is frightening to think of things like that! i know that one of my neighbours, his wife had had a young baby and was about 6 months pregnant and he went out on xmas eve to get his wife a xmas pregnant and was killed on his motorbike. it really hits it home how vulnerable we are.
Callie - at least you are making progress even if some of the staff are unhelpful! i feel like we are treat like cattle on a conveyor belt when i go to the hospital! when i have my scan they talk over me so i have no idea if baby is ok. and yes it is me who plans ot do it on gas and air but then i am a newbie to childbirth and so quite naive! considering that i suffered from very painful period pains and was laid up in bed with those! so basically i have no idea!!

bethoo · 05/02/2007 10:01

Monti 3
Adoni 2
Kami 2
Tarwin 3
Miro 2
Coorain 2
Pier 3
Pindar 3
Parri 3
Nardu 2
Dheran 2
Berrigan 3

sorry honey, none of them appeal to me personally. but if they had meanings attached they may do as i like names which have significant meanings attached.

Rosylily · 05/02/2007 10:13

I think Belfast is improving in leaps and bounds all the time nowadays Bethoo, Holywood is a lovely spot! Very expensive to buy a house there!

I really like the name Ismail/Ishmael and just found it can mean 'outcast' which is a big fat bummer because I like names to have a good meaning...still not totally off it though...

3rdtriMOSSter · 05/02/2007 10:27

Eids my idea of "nesting" is getting together as many blankets and cushions as I can and lying in a big "nest" on the couch! I was wiping the laminate because apparently being on my hands and knees will help turn lo the right way round (back to front rather than back to back).

But my knees are quite sore now!

Foxy, Bertie was our first choice boys name, but Monty (with the 'y') was our second choice so that's why Monti is my favourite. However we were watching an awful lot of cricket at the time!

Callie I'm sure you won't look like a bag lady!! I have given up blow drying my hair of a morning, takes far too much time. It's not dry by the time I get to work in the morning so I turn up to work looking like a drowned rat, and I don't even have a baby yet, goodness knows what I'll look like when I do!

Dolly if it is okay with you yes I would love to have a try of those bras, if they are too big round the back I can always sew in some extra hooks. If they're too small on the ol' norks then so be it! Can you email me with your address and I'll send you an SAE? I am msrlmoss @ hotmail . com (take the spaces out).

Bethoo I'm planning on gas and air as well, must be mad, but I got some lovely advice from people on here about dealing with labour which made me feel much braver.

Rosy that's a bummer about your favourite name, you said "it can mean"; does it have an alternative meaning as well then, that is better? If so it might still be all right mightn't it?

Piffle · 05/02/2007 10:29

Of all those names I like Miro the best

Sorry not been around and been unsociable, I've got horrific itching (had suspected cholestasis with dd) and am miserable
Am off for special blood tests todaAm gutted as it would kiss goodbye most likely to my homebirth and I'm just sad and grumpy from lack of sleep (itching keeps me awake til about 3am)
Sorry for only coming on to moan but
arghhhhhhhhhhhhh
33 wks something litle blue one on board

bethoo · 05/02/2007 10:51

Piffle- i know what yo are talking about. do your palms and feet really itch so much they feel like they are burning?
