Wow you have magic colostrum bunch! you must be just staring at him in wonder all the time huh? Your beautiful boy!

Canters15 · 13/08/2016 11:46

So glad all is going well bunch! And I'm oddly relieved by the fact you're still managing to post, has motherhood been what you expected so far?

Potato that would really annoy me too! It's the sort of thing that if you genuinely like someone it doesn't matter, but when you hate them everything they do becomes the height of irritation!

Lovely scans pics audrey! We have a 4d this afternoon, I'm very excited now having seen yours!

indi please take it easy.

miley sorry about your spray tan! Most beauty stuff seems to be a waste of time when pregnant, I bit the bullet and dyed my hair the other night and the mid brown dye I used has turned my roots full on ginger! Which is not a flattering look on me! Wish I'd just persevered with my natural mouse colour instead!

BunchOfBobs · 13/08/2016 11:53

I was suprised by how much of it there was Lillian, a lot more than had been leaking in pregnancy. He has the best facial expressions that I can't stop staring at.

Canters it's been different. I didn't get the huge rush of love so many people talk about, but I knew not everyone gets it. This morning though I found myself really missing him in my arms so I'm feeling very positive it'll come soon. I obviously love him and would do anything for him, but I'm not in love with him yet. He is utterly gorgeous and I just want to eat him though.
It's easy to post when I've had 5.5 hours sleep and he's asleep on the boob Grin Enjoy the scan and make sure you post photos.

Miley hope the wedding is fun today, please show us photos of your dress.

Potato re the spiders... Any chance they're coming back out of the Hoover? I'm hideously scared of spiders so wouldn't be able to cope but will not allow live spiders to be hoovered due to horrible urban legends I've read.

Sodasoda · 13/08/2016 13:30

Great that you're managing to get some sleep bunch

Enjoy the wedding miley

Good luck for the 4d scan today canters
*
Pink / Lillian* - we've gone for the bugaboo bee in red (I really liked the blue but decided to stick with red as more gender neutral). We've got the maxi cosy pebble I size car seat. We're going away for next couple of weekends so wanted to have the car seat to take in case of early arrival!

I've been for a wax today! Last one before giving birth! It really wasn't too painful - definitely go early in the morning. I was planning on waiting a bit longer but I'm off to a spa hotel with DH this week for our wedding anniversary and figured I needed a wax to wear a swimming costume so may as well get it all sorted now Grin

ElleSarcasmo · 13/08/2016 14:10

Thanks Bunch, that's the kind of thing I was thinking of. What kind of bed do you have?

Shelb no idea who comes up with the names! I'm picturing them with a kittens calendar and a fluffy pen!

Hope the scan goes well Canters

Soda is the Bee quite light? Really need to get our act together and look at some prams!

BunchOfBobs · 13/08/2016 14:15

Elle we have a super king bed on an iron bed frame.
I'll try and get a photo of the setup for you.

BunchOfBobs · 13/08/2016 14:21

Please ignore the mess but hopefully this gives you an idea Elle. Our bed is ridiculously high so we have the legs of the cot on extenders.

It looks flimsy on those zip ties but trust me you cannot budge it.

Great scan Audrey

Bunch this won't make you spider fears any better but they can survive being hoovered. When we have a spider invasion I hoover them into our dyson and empty it into the chicken run. The chickens love a good spider chase.

Indi please don't spin on your ankle yet. I know it's frustrating not being able to do what you want to but a short time is worth a lifetime of pain.

So we were getting really great service from the shop I bought our pram, car seat and nursery furniture from (independent as we prefer to spend our money locally if we can) but after a number of phonecalls during the week to find out where our furniture is, and five (yes FIVE) phone calls today they eventually tell us the cot is out of stock and delivery won't be until sometime in September. The supplier was meant to ring us with a date but because they didn't have any in stock they didn't bother. This baby better not be early. Grrr

PotatosMum · 13/08/2016 15:03

Stardrey I forgot to say, he looks like a boy to me too Smile

Pink sounds like the booking for induction at your 40 week appointment is a good idea. As you say, at least there will be an end in sight. I hope mine do the same but I suppose it depends if I'm fully engaged by 39 weeks, if not it will be up to my consultant.

Shelb period pains, achey bump and BH are all normal for me at the moment. I don't think it really means much though.

Bunch excellent news that Atticus is sleeping better and that feeding is going well Smile

I think it's more normal not to get the huge rush of love for babies from what I've read. I'm really not expecting it.

Regarding spiders coming back out of the Hoover, that is an urban legend these days. They could with the bag type but we have a dyson and it literally shreds them... I once hoovered a massive one and was able to locate disembodied legs in the canister Envy

Co5mo · 13/08/2016 15:05

Maybe my Dyson needs a service 😨

PotatosMum · 13/08/2016 15:53

Cosmo I just saw your post. Now I'm confused. I bloody hope the little buggers aren't surviving and escaping on mass Shock

I don't trust they're dead unless I'm hoovering them into a relatively empty canister though. If it's got a fair bit of dust in it I empty it straight away, just in case and I've never seen anything scuttle to freedom Confused

Audrey Beautiful photos!

Bunch My mum has said to me a few times not to worry if I don't feel a rush of love towards the baby immediately. She never had it with me as she said I was a little stranger and it took a while to get to know me. She said she wanted to look after me from day one but love came a little later. One of my best friends has said something similar to me too about her daughter being born - that the love came with a little time.

My DSis is in the hospital being induced. She's been in for monitoring twice in the last few weeks and feels like baby's movements have changed recently so they are being extra cautious. Today is her due date. She went in to be monitored (pre-arranged) and they offered her a sweep. She was 2 cm dilated and they've decided to start the induction process (pessary) as her cervix was favourable to it. She's had the pessary and is walking around the hospital grounds now. We have our last NCT class all day tomorrow so I've been out and bought both baby boy and baby girl clothes ready for him or her!

Thought my PGP had massively improved this week but have been out with DH today and I walked so slowly and the aching started again so I'm planning on lying on the sofa for the rest of the night before we get a Domino's. Turns out I was just well rested and not cured. Co-codamol doesn't seem to have done a thing...

PotatosMum · 13/08/2016 16:31

Leonie take it easy, sounds like your body is telling you something.

Hope all goes well for your sister and the induction works quickly.

My god I'm getting a lot of stabby sensations in my foof today. Very few BHs or anything else though.

PotatosMum · 13/08/2016 17:14

DSC are on holiday with their mum this week, they left yesterday. OH just received a text from exw to say DSD is being a "stroppy cow"... What exactly she expects OH to do about this I don't know Hmm

OP posts:
Co5mo · 13/08/2016 17:40

Potato I do intentionally try and catch spiders live these days because I can use them for 'environmental enrichment' for the chickens (and the chickens are just so funny chasing them and fighting over them) so maybe I don't spin them around the canister enough to have a 100% kill rate. I think you're probably safe if you empty straight away.

Co5mo · 13/08/2016 17:43

Sounds like the DSD would rather be elsewhere Potato. I hope OH ignomes the text and let's her get on with it.

Newmrs22 · 13/08/2016 17:53

potato the stabby sensations sound promising for engagement. Since the head moved down I've been getting those a lot.

Bunch you seem to be doing so well. Great news that little atticus didn't lose much weight.

leonie def take it easy. Let us know how the induction goes.

shelbTa · 13/08/2016 18:14

Potato - same here re foof pains.

Pink - are you still gyming it? You are my hero if so, just done 20 mins walking and had to stop! Sat eating malteasers now!

Bunch - has the sleepyhead arrived?

X

Pinklily1 · 13/08/2016 18:18

Leonie, hope all goes well with your sister's induction and that you have a niece or nephew very soon! Does she have names picked out? Hopefully you have different tastes just in case!

Sorry to here your PGP is bad again. Take it easy. I've been on my feet for the past five hours and they are killing me. Time for a bath then a relax on the sofa.

Spiders....I suck them up with a handheld Dyson and they are definitely still alive sometimes. I empty them straight into the bin outside.

potato, what is the point in texting your OH that?! How bizarre.

I get fanny daggers too. Worse since baby started to engage.

Shelb, I get period type pain and BH, but they don't tend to be one after the other.

The Bugaboo Bees are cute Soda. We contemplated the red Chamelon but went with an icandy in the end.

We've just been to a birthday party and I noticed for the first time that people were asking how much longer I had to go, rather than how far along I am. We must get to a point where we look so pregnant that asking how long we've got left is the more obvious question!

Pinklily1 · 13/08/2016 18:19

Shelb, yes I am but not as often. I can't get myself out of bed to go in the morning before work, so at the minute I'm just going on weekends. It's getting more difficult though Hmm

New, how are you feeling now? Any more signs?

Ni4444 · 13/08/2016 18:29

Soda I'm loving the look (and foldability!) of the bugaboo bee. Let us know how you get on with it? I won't be buying for a few months yet!!... Getting in the mood to start buying soon though, but we're still hoping we might manage to buy a house (or at least move from our rental flat with noisy night time neighbours) so that's a good excuse to put me off buying so far!!

Audrey those pics are fab!! I'm not planning on any extra scans after our 20week....but it'll be a long time to go before we see baby again!!! Confused

Bunch just love hearing the real world experience! Glad baba is home and you guys are getting into your own groove

Lillian we're gonna wait for a surprise when baby arrives!

shelbTa · 13/08/2016 18:35

Pink - that's good going, even at weekends! Yeah agree re comments - I got a "oohh you've dropped" the other day.

X

leoniethelioness · 13/08/2016 18:48

Pink We're awaiting the arrival of baby Isaac or baby Felicity. She knows we are calling our baby Theodore, and has apparently got him something with his name on, so she knows not to go there!

Just wrote a post for the September 2016 Facebook group about looking for a nice maternity tankini for a water birth, even though it'll probably get trashed, and seem to have totally lost it. I didn't say anything bad but I've got DH to check my Facebook page twice in case it's appeared there... Not sure my friends at large are ready for water birth chat. Ooops.

BunchOfBobs · 13/08/2016 19:36

Ladies I can see my muff!! This is a revelation. I'm in a bath eek! It's taken me right back to labour. I've got some tea tree in and hoping to having some nice air drying time after as my stitches have been tight and pulling all day, I imagine from scabbing up. Sorry tmi. Then it's on to padsicles- frozen maternity pads with witchazel, aloe and tea tree on. I'll report back if they're good because if so you should prep them
Before labour as DH had fun sourcing the ingredients today.

Shelb it's arrived and it's beautiful. We got the safari print. I love a bit of mono. I can hear DH reciting the Dr Seuss book he read to bump everyday to Atticus, who is currently in the sleepyhead Grin

Leonie I packed a bikini for the pool, I never got it out of the bag. I was in the buff the entire time until my epidural when I got cold
And had a gown on.

Also milk fully in and I for once have knorks!!

Sodasoda · 13/08/2016 19:57

Elle / ni - bugaboo bee is one of the lightest prams around. We have steps leading up to our front door and I live in London so wanted something small and light for tube travel. We also have a mini! So needed to fit in the boob (it does - phew!). We were planning on going with babyZen yoyo which is smaller and lighter but the Bee had a couple of extra features which swung it for us - baby can face you for longer and the car seat will fit in the base. It took us quite a while to set it up today but now that we have I guess we don't need to set it up again! Also need to practice doing the folding etc more but I'm sure I'll get used to it!

Bunch hooray for seeing foof! I've had a bikini wax today but have no idea if she missed any! We've got the safari print sleepyhead cover too - can't wait to use it!

Pink I am in awe of your gym going!

Miley hope the wedding has gone well today.

Leonie hope you get your niece or nephew soon! Good that you had name chat with your sister. My cousin, who I'm really close to, is due around same time as me which is lovely and we've had the nAme chat too - especially over grandparents names etc which we are hoping to use for middle names.

Having a relaxing evening watching olympics with my fat feet up. They're feeling really sore and burning as well as being swollen. Sad

Got our next all day NCT class tomorrow so hope it's better than last week!
