I haven't bought a Sleepyhead but I have thought about it a lot. Please let me know if it works, Shelb and Bunch. We splashed out on the Snuzpod so trying not to spend where I don't need to but I've heard such good things about the Sleepyhead.

If you have a Snuzpod, what bedding have you bought for it?

shelbTa · 12/08/2016 09:12

Hi leonie - we have the snuzpod too Hmm for when she's outgrown the sleepyhead. We will just put a sheet in that. When in the sleepyhead my mates have told me to put a towel under their butt and muslin under head to catch sick as the sheets for them are really expensive x

Mileymoocow · 12/08/2016 09:26

bunch sounds tough! But so worth it Grin why did midwives tell you not to swaddle? I was really hoping to but have been told that recommendations change like the bloody weather.

Hope everyone is OK today! I have the health visitor coming at 10 then off to see if I have a dress for tomorrow. Busy weekend ahead.

Also I spewed today for the first time in about 2 months. Normally got a strong stomach but I barged everywhere picking the dogs crap up on our walk. Slightly embarrassing and have no idea why it happened but I do feel like I may be in for more upset stomach today. indi the poo gods are playing shitty games heehee with both of us.

potato I hear ya on the small bladder situation. I go every hour or so and sometimes it's no more than a bloody egg cup! So frustrating

BunchOfBobs · 12/08/2016 09:26

Shelb I've been told to use fitted crib sheets/Moses basket sheets as they're so much cheaper. Going to try that. The sheets are £50!!!!

Newmrs22 · 12/08/2016 09:29

Bunch hope you managed to nap a bit today to catch up on sleep. It's bound to be a bit of a learning curve.

Potato that sucks. I cant wait for my bladder to be normal again fingers crossed that it actually goes back

I've woken up to period pain. It's pretty constant so I don't think its labour. I'm kind of hoping it's the body warming up for contractions. 39+3 today

leoniethelioness · 12/08/2016 09:31

Fifty pounds?!?! No way!

Miley Hope you're okay. If it makes you feel any better, a girl in my NCT class is still sick most days at 34 weeks. 😢 At least you're not the only one to still suffer.

Just to say malt loaf is the food of the Gods. Mmmmm.

leoniethelioness · 12/08/2016 09:31

New Hopefully labour not too far around the corner and soon you'll have your baby in your arms xxx

BunchOfBobs · 12/08/2016 09:32

Miley they're now saying it increases sids risk. But it changes all the time. My midwife said it has its place and do what feels best.
It's calmed him right down so I don't think we'll be stopping.
We have the breathing sensor after all.

He's so gorgeous this morning. Just having a booby cuddle whilst dDH makes breakfast, then back to sleep I thinks.

Potato one thing that is amazing after giving birth is the full pees I'm getting to have, no issues on stitches either. A couple of weeks and you'll be there.

Also those with spd/pgp, it's completely gone woohoo! I got very mobile during labour so him fully engaging made a massive difference. Only issues I have moving around is due to my episiotomy and bruising from the salad tongs.

PotatosMum · 12/08/2016 09:47

Bunch thanks for that Smile good to know your bladder pings back to normal and you're not in too much discomfort. Hopefully the bruising will go down quickly.

I just had a look at the sleepyhead thing. Wow those are expensive! But I suppose it's worth it if it stops you going crazy.

Indi yup, I actually need a pee every time I get up so I don't think it's a UTI. I had the same problem the night before but I wasn't waking up until I was literally so desperate that I wasn't sure I'd make it Blush

Miley good luck with the health visitor and the dress. Hope the upset tummy settles down for you.

New eek, exciting that your body may be getting ready. Looking forward to seeing another thread baby! Grin

I've just set up the TV and discovered that the previous owners were so obsessed with sky (they had it in every room) that they don't have a normal aerial. Oh well, guess I don't need a free view box anymore Hmm

Danni89 · 12/08/2016 10:22

Oh good to know the sleepyhead was a good buy then, I look forward to a review from you bunch - also has your milk come in yet? And have your boobs gone mahoosive?

What are people doing about buying nursing bras- really don't know what size to get?

Sodasoda · 12/08/2016 10:42

Wow, lots to catch up on! I'll do my best!

Loving the pics and the updates bunch! Sending love to your little family.

I've also got a sleepyhead after various friend recommendations.

Danni - when I got measured for bras earlier on in John Lewis I asked them about nursing bras. They said to wait until week 36/37 and then they could do a fitting so I was going to go next week.

Indi hope your ankle is feeling better

Miley sorry you're feeling sickie, hood the dress works!

Potato hope baby comes soon so the wee-ing problems stop!

Shelb I'm only 35+2 but am ravenous - have been since about week 30. I usually have to get up in the morning because I need food! And a wee but that goes without saying!

That's all I can remember right now but will try and read back more!

I'm at work but going to head home in a bit. My feet are so swollen and I really need to sit with them up. I had to take my rings off yesterday which I feel ridiculously sad about! I'm just worried if I leave it any longer I'll have to get them cut off Sad

LillianFullStop · 12/08/2016 11:00

leonie we got the Snuzpod too! I got a sheet set from Mothercare (£36 for 2 fitted sheets and a blanket). They sell mattress protector too. If you go to the little green sheep website they sell fitted sheets on their own and they have more range.

bunch i was planning on swaddling too! My DSIS swore by it to settle both her boys. Awww sleeping on you and DH is sweet - I am dreaming of that I can't wait! thanks for the reassurance on the stitches bunch - I'm so scared of nightmare episiotomy recovery stories and have started googling (BIG MISTAKE) episiotomy vs cesarean recovery Confused

Flowers to miley with feeling sick again and potato struggling with sleep.

not long to go new!! pretty soon you'll have this whole thread hitting refresh all hours of the day and night Smile

Mileymoocow · 12/08/2016 11:06

soda I can't wear my ring anymore and am only 31+6, but mine isn't an engagement/wedding ring. Can you maybe buy a cheap bigger one so you don't feel so naked? My friend bought a £30 one to wear in her last couple of months because she was scared they'd have to be cut off, too.

Health visitor has been - she's really lovely. A lot of information that I already knew but OH said he found it helpful. pink the dvd is about shaking babies when stressed - we are going to the NHS classes so we get to watch it there.

leonie oh my God! Poor lady! That is horrendous, I'd be so frustrated. Luckily I'm OK most of the time, just feel nauseous more than actual vomiting which I can deal with.

BunchOfBobs · 12/08/2016 11:48

Danni not in yet but they have grown with the increase in colostrum. Hoping it comes in tomorrow. Nipples still intact and unharmed woohoo!

Lillian. I'm glad I didn't look anything up but it's really not that bad. Honestly the anaemia is worse at stopping me doing what I want to do. I was walking around at 2am quite okay but have stiffened up over night.
I've even had a poo!! That was scary though.
I daren't look to see how bad the actual scar is but the Drs seemed thrilled with it at the time so hopefully it's okay. It's only one one side at least.

Im only dipping in and out the thread and responding to questions, hope you don't think I'm being selfish at not responding to everyone's posts. Managed another 1.5 hour nap and considering getting up for lunch now. First midwife visit in 2 hours eek.

PotatosMum · 12/08/2016 11:58

Bunch of course you're not being selfish! You concentrate on you and baby and just dip in when you like Smile

Gah, I really need to get up and do stuff. I've been so out of it the past couple of days.

Does anyone know how to get rid of a house spider infestation? When we moved in there was loads of the buggers and it doesn't matter how many I kill the next day there's a load more to take their place. One has even taken up residence on my hospital bag Hmm

AudreyBradshaw · 12/08/2016 12:22

bunch get as much rest as you can. From everything I've been told, the first 3 weeks is purely about survival. Do what you can to get you through. And be kind to yourself. 💐🎉🎁🎂🎊

Newmrs22 · 12/08/2016 13:18

Yes Bunch seriously don't worry about us! We can wait. You need to look after yourself and your little family.

I'm still getting period pain on and off and have had 2 poos which is unusual- sorry TMI Grin so maybe things are very slowly starting. The not knowing is the worst!

Danni89 · 12/08/2016 13:35

Exciting New!! We could have another thread baby by Sunday!!

BunchOfBobs · 12/08/2016 13:43

New my toilet trips massively increased as did BH. The day before my latent phase started I was utterly exhausted. If you think it is starting, rest up and eat lots of energy giving foods. The killer for me ended up being 3 days of no sleep.

PotatosMum · 12/08/2016 14:50

Eee New exciting! We could have another thread baby on the way Grin

My BH have now stopped so I've been pottering around hoovering spiders and setting up the office a bit and now I'm disgustingly sweaty and knackered again. Oh well.

leoniethelioness · 12/08/2016 14:58

Very exciting, New!

No signs of my niece or nephew yet - baby is due tomorrow but seems quite settled.

A girl in my NCT class said her niece was born at 27 weeks 😨 which puts all grumbles about babies being late into perspective.

Typing this from my new phone! 😉

shelbTa · 12/08/2016 15:33

Bunch - forget us!!!! It's a shame you can't dictate messages isn't it.

Oh god potato, all those spiders, my worst nightmare!!!

Exciting new!!!

X

IndiX · 12/08/2016 15:34

Exciting new I hope it's a good sign!

Bunch don't worry, just rest when you can and give your gorgeous boy lots cuddles and kisses.

Miley hope you're feeling better now.

My sciatica is so painful today, it's giving me more pain than my ankle tbh! Also Beanie keeps rolling around which is making my bump feel hard, huge and round. Feeling a bit tired and grumpy, might try have a nap.

Newmrs22 · 12/08/2016 17:23

Don't get too excited. Nothing seems to be happening now. All pains have gone so I suspect it was a false alarm.

Sorry to hear about the sciatica Indi

Potato my cat loves eating spiders. Maybe you should borrow him!

PotatosMum · 12/08/2016 18:49

Shelb luckily they are just the spindly ones and they are tiny. I couldn't handle it if it was the big black things, I'd have to get a professional in to fumigate. I just don't know where they're coming from though, every time I Hoover a batch more appear Hmm

Indi sorry you're in pain Sad

New I don't think the cat would improve matters as OH and I are both allergic Confused

OH has decided we're starting to decorate DSSs room tonight... Wish I'd known that earlier, I would have spent the day being a lot lazier Wink
