bunch those photos are gorgeous! You made a person!

HepKestrel · 23/08/2016 22:44

Thanks indi! Getting nervous. Oh works 2.5h away, so hoping he makes it in time to join me for the scan.

LillianFullStop · 23/08/2016 23:03

bunch those photos are perfect! he looks so cute and comfy. I showed my DH and told him we definitely need to do it too!

leonie thanks for the tip re: wet wipes. I don't have any Andrex to hand but I might crack open a packet of Water Wipes I have for LO - I'm trying to drink as much water as I can too. Come one and all and join us on the constipation and piles couch!! Pregnancy is so glamorous!!

soda I hear you about the tube. I took a longer way home on the newer trains + bus just to avoid going underground - not sure if it was worth the extra time and effort but at the time I definitely did not want to be underground in that heat!!!

Hope your DH is doing ok with it all audrey - sounds like an ongoing saga Sad

feef hope the market picks up and you find your new home soon. I read somewhere it's quiet because people are still off on holidays and they expect it to pick up in a month's time.

Mileymoocow · 24/08/2016 07:35

soda you're completely right about it giving you stomach cramps! They've been horrendous all night but haven't amounted to anything more than gas.

Hope everyone had a better nights sleep than me. How is it only Wednesday?!

Planeteer · 24/08/2016 07:47

Morning all.

Sorry posts are so sporadic, am struggling to keep up but thinking of you all.

Audrey what a horrific situation for your DH and for you as well. Must be so hard to keep your mouth shut when you can see all the hurt BIL is causing the people you love. Do rant on here whenever you need if it's cathartic!!

Miley hope the rest of the plug stays put! With you on the poo woes, have forgotten how it feels to go to the loo without practically bursting a blood vessel. Grim! Lactulose scares me a bit, but it may yet come to that!

Bunch those photos!! Looooove them. You really did bake a very cute tiny person. Kudos!

Feefs, sorry you're feeling blue. Househunting is so stressful! Hope something lovely is just around the corner.

Good luck for those having scans today...sorry, can't remember who!

Pink, Shelb, any news? Bored of pineapple and vindaloo??

Yesterday was my first truly horrible hormone attack. Had some bad news on our house move (it's been pushed back again and now looks as though I'll be 39 weeks when it happens. Shitbags!) but just totally couldn't compute that this would be anything other than a disaster. Had a total meltdown at my desk and had to send myself home from work as couldn't stop crying. This lasted on and off for the whole day. Gah! Hoping for better today but feel a bit like I've been hit with a steamroller. Boo!

Hope everyone does ok in the heat today.

Sodasoda · 24/08/2016 08:00

It's a balancing act isn't it miley? Oh the days when poo-ing came naturally! Sad

Really struggling with what to wear at the moment - something that fits and doesn't reveal too much boob, something that I'm not going to sweat to death in on the tube but something that is suitable for a fairly strongly air conditioned office. Dilemma!

I'm 37 weeks today - fully cooked baby here Smile

Feefeefs · 24/08/2016 08:14

Thanks Elle! We should market our pregnancy hair are if we find the answer!! Ha ha

Thanks Lillian that makes me feel a bit more hopeful! Thanks planteer finding it way more stressful than pregnancy or getting married or anything! Don't know why I think it's the pregnancy impacting!

Sorry about your move being pushed back.

Congrats on fully cooked baby soda

BunchOfBobs · 24/08/2016 08:19

Morning all,
Thank you for the comments re the photos, they are gorgeous as is Atticus Grin

Miley lactulose is the work of the devil in my opinion. I thought I was dying when I resorted to it. I found prune juice and weetabix more effective.
Poo woes unfortunately don't end after birth, the fear of the first poo is insane and then if on iron tablets the constipation is great fun!

So that's it, DH is back at work, he just left. We're home alone. I'm fully in charge of Atticus which is madness as DH has been doing everything for both of us due to my limitations. I can move just slowly so I will get it all done but I'm still freaked!! Parents were supposed to be coming but dads hospital appointments have clashed terribly. Also looks like he may well still have his op next Thursday which means I won't have any help for the first 3 weeks of DH back at work and potentially have to have surgery myself during this time aaahh!!

Good luck for scans today.

shelbTa · 24/08/2016 08:20

Morning ladies

Stardrey - that's really awful, hope it isn't stressing you out too much.

Bunch - ace pics!

Good luck to those having scans today.

X

Pyxie · 24/08/2016 08:42

I'm with you on the clothing dilemma Soda, congrats on fully cooked baby!

We're also house hunting Feef, we had a house lined up but then our sellers pulled out (after we had paid for survey, solicitors, mortgage adviser) and now there just doesn't seem to be anything going up for sale. Really didn't want to spend another winter in our rented house because it's so damp, but have just resigned myself to running the dehumidifier full time! I definitely think the pregnancy adds to the stress of it. Hope you find something soon.

Bunch those pics are lovely! I hadn't thought of booking a newborn photo shoot, I think I'll look into it. Hope your day goes okay with just the two of you!

Good luck for the scans today.

Pinklily1 · 24/08/2016 08:46

Soda, congratulations on 37 weeks! I ended up ordering an ASOS dress for the wedding - I decided I couldn't justify a Tiffany Rose one when I am only going to wear it once. Fingers crossed the ASOS one fits and is nice, otherwise it'll be panic stations.

Good luck for the scans today Hep and Leonie.

Sorry to hear about the house delays Planet. Is it another party dragging their feet?

I've had an awful nights sleep. I was awake until about 1.30am with bad period like pains, I genuinely thought it was going to turn into contractions. Baby was also very active before bed. I must have drifted off at some point, tossed and turned all night and have woken up in a foul mood because clearly they were just pains and not contractions and I'm just getting impatient now Hmm.

Any developments Shelb?

Bunch, I hope all goes well today. It doesn't matter if you do things slowly - i'm sure Atticus won't mind Smile

LisaTheSimpson · 24/08/2016 08:51

That sounds scary, Bunch, being wholly responsible! I'm sure you'll be amazing - can you just stay in bed and drag him over to boob when he's hungry? And so nappy changes on the bed?

That would still leave food for you though..... could you get a mini fridge and stock up with things next to your bed? We will also send biscuits and nice things to you.

Soda, congrats on 37 weeks! Such a milestone! How are you feeling?

Planet - sorry about the hormone attack, it doesn't sound very nice, you poor thing. I'm sure everyone at work was understanding (and if not, don't worry because soon you won't see them again for quite a while!).

Another one here with very frizzy hair (that the heat obviously isn't helping with). My hair is blonde naturally very thick (so much so it gets matted underneath sometimes). I considered going for a cut with lots of layers to thin it out for the summer with pregnancy making it even thicker, but then I worried it would look weird after birth when it all starts falling out (Bunch and Potato and New - any hair changes yet?).

I can deal with the thickness by putting it up or braiding it, but the frizziness is very annoying.

LisaTheSimpson · 24/08/2016 08:52

And sorry for everyone struggling to poo!

Mileymoocow · 24/08/2016 08:54

soda congrats on fully cooked baby! 3 weeks time and I can stop worrying about preterm labour! Also planet, I don't think I'll ever take a nice easy poo for granted again! I'm having the loudest tummy rumbles at work Blush

bunch I have weetabix and dried apricots every day - they worked to some extent but have now become ineffective. I will have to try prune juice! Hope your first day just the two of you goes well!

Feeling for those of you who have house move worries - it's stressful at the best of times Sad

Going to have to treat myself to a latte this morning, I'm having trouble remain alert. Been at work since half 7 and have done precisely fuck all

shelbTa · 24/08/2016 08:55

Good luck bunch! Total faith in you!

Pink - I totally hear you, the ramping up then stopping. I just had my first hormonal cry in the entire 9 months, feel very hormonal and fed up. Pain etc kicks back in when I walk around, but when I lie down in bed its totally fine, so clearly pre / false labour.

X

BunchOfBobs · 24/08/2016 09:01

Talking of struggling to poo, little man had a huge and I mean HUGE clearout on Sunday and hasn't pooed since. Well until Daddy left.... He just had a huge poonami half hour after a clean nappy grr. So change him, clean him up etc and then we're having s cuddle and I hear it. He's off again. And he still won't keep straining. This is going to be horrendous to clean up!

Sodasoda · 24/08/2016 09:15

Sorry about the house move planeteer. I can't believe how many of you have been brave enough to move when pregnant. So stressful!

Pink I hear you on Tiffany rose. I wanted to get something I felt really good in for bridesmaid duties but will also be wearing it again this weekend for another wedding so don't feel so bad spending a bit of money on the dress.

Thanks for 37 week congrats Smile I'm feeling ok. Pretty large, hot and grumpy and by the end of the day my feet are enormous! But I don't have anything too bad (apart from constipation obviously!). I think I'm just keeping going because I know I have to (weekend away at another wedding and then next week still at work) and then I'll completely flag once I'm on maternity leave!

Im also feeling really excited about finding out if little one is a girl or boy! Can't believe I've managed not to find out!

Good luck for scans today hep and leonie

Pinklily1 · 24/08/2016 09:22

It's a bit soul destroying isn't it Shelb? I'm tired from lack of sleep, which makes me grump, and my hips and bum are sore so I can't get comfortable and can't sleep properly. I don't want to just sit around waiting for things to start as I'll get bored, but don't want to go out and do too much as I'll get really tired.

I'm trying to remind myself that in the worst case scenario I'll be induced at 40+7 (39+1 now), so it's not too much longer. It's so time for babies Pink and Shelb to arrive though Smile

I might take some inspiration from Bake Off slathering tonight and make some cupcakes to keep me occupied!

Soda, I would definitely have got a TR one if we'd had a few more weddings/events later in pregnancy.

Pinklily1 · 24/08/2016 09:22

And Bunch, how can something so little poo so much? I'm sure a lot of us are jealous of his bowel movements Grin

shelbTa · 24/08/2016 09:30

Pink - I'm am literally you at the moment! Have you booked in for a sweep yet? They don't induce until 40+12 where I'm going, grim. I never thought I'd ask this of another human but - are you having any CM?

Omg bunch! What a little machine! How's the stitches?

X

Pinklily1 · 24/08/2016 09:47

Haha Shelb! This is going to sound strange but I'm definitely getting CM (I'm knicker watching like a hawk for any signs of the mucus plug), but then when I go to the loo and wipe I feel quite dry Blush Sorry if TMI! Are you getting any?

I get a sweep at my 40 week midwife appointment, which is actually a week today at 40+1. Apparently it works for 1 in 3 people. At that same appointment she'll book me in for an induction for the week later. Our hospital used to wait until you were two weeks overdue but apparently changed its policy about six months ago. I don't want to be induced as that means I will be classed as high risk (hospital policy apparently) and wouldn't be able to have baby in the pool in the birthing centre, which is what I really want, so I want to avoid it if at all possible.

Have you pinned OH down for anymore DTD? My OH has decided that it is his duty to do some nipple stimulation GrinBlush

shelbTa · 24/08/2016 10:06

Pink - I get a little stringy clear cm in the morning then bone dry for rest of day - really weird as I've had loads of that lukkrea (spelt wrong) stuff all pregnancy. I get induced next Tuesday!

DTD - no, didn't want to push my luck!! But might get him to step up again tonight! I've had three bastard pineapples in three days!

leoniethelioness · 24/08/2016 10:18

Thank you for all of the good luck wishes! I will catch up on the other comments on this thread shortly.

Baby is measuring on 95 per centile and he's about 6 lbs in weight. His leg measurement is spot on (35w 1 d - I am 35w exactly) but he has a big tummy (37w 3d) and head (38w 3d)! I thought maybe he followed 6'4" DH but, nope, he follows me with a chubby belly! The midwife sonographer wasn't confident that his head measurement is accurate as he is "footling breech", which is a cute way of explaining why I feel like my bladder is constantly being prodded! I am hoping he turns by himself in the next week as I'm not keen on the idea of the ECV procedure and I would like to try for a vaginal birth. He's always been head down for every single midwife appointment so I was surprised to find out that he's breech today. Please keep your fingers crossed that he turns himself around all by himself! He better do it quickly as it sounds like he's running out of room... I've got a feeling I'll be sent back for another scan if the midwife isn't confident next week that he's rotated into the correct position.

Here is a little photo of him - it's a bit smooshed due to the funny angles and how enormous he is but hopefully you can make out some features!

Pinklily1 · 24/08/2016 10:23

leonie, glad all was well, and hopefully baby will turn himself in good time! They do like to misbehave don't they?!

Shelb, as in Tuesday 30th? So they induce you before your due date? Now I'm a bit jealous Wink

BunchOfBobs · 24/08/2016 10:25

Leonie look up the spinning babies website. Loads of tips for helping to get baby to turn.
